1-20 of the hockey asks!
Thanks!!! ❤️1. Favorite team?Penguins. I'm a good Pittsburgh girl.2. Least favorite team? The Blackhawks, for sure.3. Second-favorite team?I would say the Avs, but ever since the Varlamov incident, it's hard to support them as a team (although I still love many players there). So I'm going to say the Leafs.4. Favorite rivalry?I'm from Pittsburgh, so Pens-Flyers, of course. I once wore my Pens shirt when I visited Philly just to try and start a fight.5. Any rivalries in your family?Nope, my parents and I are the only ones who like hockey and we're all Pens fans.6. Best-looking uniforms/logo?I'm not entirely in love with the logo, but I do adore the Bolts' blue. In terms of logo, I'm always amused by the Sabres.7. Favorite goal horn/song?Again, I'm a bit biased here, but the Pens.8. What hockey merch do you own?So much. Too much. A lot (and I mean a lot) of shirseys, two jerseys, and a bunch of random memorabilia. My family's friend owns a photo gallery and gets stuff signed by players for him to sell, so he always gives me personalized signed pictures from the players when he goes to see them.9. Favorite hockey memory?Phil Kessel becoming a Stanley Cup Champion. Also, in 9th grade when my friend and I couldn't grow playoff beards, so we decided to do playoff knee-hair. It was weird and ridiculous and I don't know why we thought it was cool, but the Penguins won the cup that year, so who's laughing now?10. Olympic hockey or NHL hockey?NHL because I don't like my children playing against each other.11. Which Olympic team do you root for? If there was a Team North America, this question would be so much easier. It varies every year depending on the teams and how spiteful I feel, but usually it's Germany and then either Sweden or Finland.12. Which legends do you wish you could have grown up watching?Mario. I was a baseball fan when I moved to Pittsburgh, so even though I would have been able to see the end of his career, I wasn't paying attention to the Pens (instead, I dedicated myself to a very disappointing Pirates team). I still kick myself about that.13. When/how did you first get into hockey? My family was given tickets to see a game when I was in about 6th grade, and I remember thinking that hockey was really amazing (and being bitter that I hadn't heard about it sooner). I followed casually the next season, and then by 8th grade, it had taken over my life.14. Favorite current player(s)?Tom Kuhnhackl, Paul Martin, Flower, PK Subban, Morgan Rielly, Ryan O'Reilly, Trevor Daley (there are many more but I had to control myself).15. Favorite players of all time?I'm just going to list one because he was my original favorite and he will always be my favorite: Mark Eaton.16. Least favorite player(s)?Patrick Kane, Mike Ribiero, Drew Doughty, Evander Kane, Semyon Varlamov (I feel like the reasons for these guys don't really need to be explained), and Brandon Dubinsky (I don't really know how that started, but everyone in my family just really dislikes him for some reason)17. Least favorite player(s) on your team?Ian Cole, without a doubt. And Derrick Pouliot because his style of play tends to irritate me.18. Favorite hockey movie?Miracle. Or Breakaway (because who would have thought that Bollywood and hockey could go together?)19. If you could have any jersey, which team and player would you choose?Right now, I'd really love a Team North America Morgan Rielly jersey. But since Team NA jerseys are difficult to come by now that the World Cup is over, I'd also accept a Toronto one. Or a Penguins Kessel one.20. Favorite hockey city?Pittsburgh is great, of course (if for no other reason than I'm here lol), but I also like Toronto (even if the media scrutiny there is insane), and St. Louis is turning into a decent hockey market and has a growing dedicated fan base (although the fans tended to be a bit obnoxious to me during my 4 years there. But I (mostly) forgive them).
