Join us in the 2024 12 Days of Christmas Challenge as we hope to spread a little ✨holiday joy and cheer✨ through the magic of writing fanfiction & creating art!

About & Rules

The challenge will run from December 13-24, 2024.

The challenge is open to any and all fandoms.

Submissions must include at least one of the prompts for that day but can combine two, three, or all four.

Prompts for the day always include: a word/words, a scenario, a quote, a "famous" quote (taken from songs and movies)

Tag your submissions with #12daysofchristmas2024 and/or mention this blog so that we will be notified to reblog your submissions here. (Also, it would be super cool if you gave this blog a follow!)

Submissions for the day must be posted before midnight YOUR time. We're not super hard-and-fast about this rule, but posting within time is very much appreciated! 

If you’re posting your submission directly on Tumblr (as opposed to linking to an external site such as AO3), you MUST use a “keep reading” cut!

Edit: We're now also allowing ALL KINDS OF ART: drawings, edits, aesthetics, mood boards, videos, podfics, fiber arts... go wild!

EP1

so i've decided i'm really doing it and watching a tale of thousand stars after like 5 months of hearing about it and earthmix. I could just have watched it like that but i might as well write my little thoughts in real time

it’s 9:35, i should be packing and yet i’m tucked in bed starting atots,, i don't really know how to do this i don’t wanna pause everytime to comment on it but i’m afraid to forget stuff so i'll just go with the flow

Also i need to mention i'm going into this not knowing a thing about the show except that mix plays a character named Tian and Earth plays Phupha, i didnt read the synopsis so i don't know a thing about the plot. I don’t plan on holding out though so there will be ✨spoilers✨

EP1 :

just random thoughts while i'm watching :

- The ball of the casino roulette falling into 24 as i’m doing this for a 24th birthday ? its a sign 😭

- the amount of skin texture i am getting, i am thriving those close shots showing raw skin texture are rellay pretty (so are the actors)

- so it’s someone’s book ?? i mean something had to be up given it’s "a tale" but i wasn’t expecting that,, you can see i'm genuinely just discovering

- also that accident scene i was pleased with (not nice to say in itself like that but i was very much waiting for her to get into an accident when she stepped out of the bus,, does that make me an awful person 😭😭)

- he got her heart ?? if thats why he’s gonna fall in love with earth i swear, man they better play that character development nicely i have high expectations

- on a serious note some scenes are really well shot and edited, it's really beautiful (not me saying this just for the scene to be ruined by a bad jump cut 😔 the scene was so nice 😔)

- whoever produced this props on the music

- did mix add country music to his twitter tags bc of that one scene he gets picked up in by Yod ?

- Some moments are so cliché 😭

Thoughts on ep 1 after finishing it :

Whoever directed the music, sound effects, soundtrack, etc. everyone involved in sounds and music, i love you dearly. The soundtrack is phenomenal i applaud, every guitar, violin, harmonica, traditional instrument, just every note i heard just blew me away. I don’t wanna say this that way bc i don’t wanna hurt anyone but the music is really making the show so far, it’s just pulling everything together, i am very much in love with the music.

Music aside, it’s funnier than what i expected i had many good laughs already. Some bad jump cuts are making it slightly less great especially since i noticed them but it's fine even big hollywood productions make them sometimes, i'll pretend i did not see them. I genuinely feel like the characters are gonna grow on me, i'm not so sure about some aspects of them so far but it's only ep1, and of the producers and writers of the show are making a great one, those are gonna go through somemajor character development which i'm very much waiting for. I'll add the acting is very much on point, many great acting moment i can think of as i'm writing this.
