   after the piece of scrunched-up paper hit his cheek, he let out a low whistle, side-eyeing the boy who decided to interrupt his studying. he let his fingers wave in a flourish before going to drum on the notebook. it was like he was saying ‘ is that the best you can do? ’ to see what would happen next.

   “ you think you can just PULL me from my notes just like that? tsk tsk . . . oh, ouma-kun . . . ” amami hummed in a reply, eyes now focusing on the writing in front of him. a smug grin made his lips turn up on one side.

   truth was, he wasn’t keen on studying, but he would be damned if he let himself lose his attention so easily. his eyes remained on the paper, glossing over the important bits. non-life sciences were never his forte; chemistry just made everything seem more complicated than it really needed to be.
