“Let me ask the question first.”

Magnus looks at the time 7:30, and taps his foot. Alec is late. Their dinner reservation is for 8pm, where is Alec? Worry wars with anger. 

Finally at 7:45 the door to the loft opens and Alec walks in with a smile.

Magnus glares at him and shakes his head when Alec walks over to him, “It’s about time.”

“I had to pick something up.”

Magnus looks coldly down at Alec’s empty hands, “Oh really, I don’t see anything.”

Alec’s smiles fades away, “It’s in my pocket.” He pulls out a small box.

Magnus’ eyes widen as Alec opens the box and he sees a ring inside. 

Alec looks at Magnus as he takes the ring and gently places it on Magnus’ finger.

Alec swallows, “Magnus Bane, I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, so will you...”

“Yes, yes yes.”

Alec giggles, “You don’t even know what I’m going to ask.”

Magnus smiles, “Fine, Alexander, ask your question, but the answer is still going to be ‘yes’.”

Alec blushes, “Will you marry me?”

Magnus says, “Yes” as he pulls Alec into his arms and kisses him all the way to their bedroom. The dinner reservation no longer is important.

It was more a question of WHEN than about if and the time seems right with ShadowHunters returning next week to finally update my profile/avatar to reflect my new ship. 

After all, with Malec/SH in my life, I’m happy to say that I’m inspired to write fanfic again. 40 stories in six months. THREE series. Agnes, my muse has been a happy girl.

I've had that happen a few times. I had the chapter all worked out in my head, then start typing and it takes a sharp left turn. Just go with it. 😁

Do you ever have a solid outline for a chapter and then SURPRISE your hands start typing a storyline you were not intending for it? Because, me rn.

Magnus has a new kink

Alec has been sick for a while. Nothing serious, but even ShadowHunters get the flu. Magnus does his High Warlock of Brooklyn duties from the loft in between wiping his boy friend’s sweaty brow and feeding him chicken soup. 

Alec finally has enough strength to walk to the bathroom by himself. He puts the light on and glances in the mirror. “By the angel!”

Magnus comes running a zillion thoughts running through his mind. But Alec is fine, “Alexander?”

Alec looks at him, “I need my shaving kit.”

Magnus  kisses him, “I like this look on you.”

Alec smiles, “You sure?”

Magnus pulls Alec to the bed, “Positive.”

What if it worked?

Magnus figures what the heck. 

He leans over and kisses Alec tenderly. He rolls his eyes, but gasps when he sees a rune slowly take form on the side of Alec’s neck. He reaches over and gently traces it. 

Alec’s eyes flutter and slowly open, “Magnus?���

Magnus smiles and pulls Alec into his arms. Alec holds him just as tight.

.

.

Magnus blinks his eyes. Alec is still unconscious and fighting for his life. 

But the rune is there. Magnus traces it. He wonders what it means.

Jace, Izzy and Clary come into the loft. 

Magnus gets off the bed, and hands Jace the stone. 

He waits for somebody to mention the new rune on Alec’s neck, but Jace gets on the bed without saying a word. He brings Alec back to life. 

Jace is taken away by Aldertree. 

Izzy and Clary leave. 

Alec is asleep on Magnus’ bed. Nobody said a word about the rune.

Magnus lies at Alec’s side, tracing it, until he falls asleep.

Chapters 1 and 2 (ffnet)  (AO3)

I wanted to post the entire fanfic in one day, but chapter 3 has too many goodies that I want to put in it, so it will have to wait. Chapter 1 and 2 have been done since Sunday, so I figured I might as well post them now, before I go to work. 

There will be ONE more story, just to give the series a proper ending, and then I will call it complete.

i don’t write, but as a reader AO3 is much better and that means i usually don’t read fics on ff.net.. I’d suggest you post on both, actually. This way if ff.net removes your story, it’s still on the other one and you’ll have more readers too… just a suggestion

I’ve changed my AO3 user name to Malec_4ever and I’m going to post my Malec fanfic over there. But I will post my stories on both sites.

I know I still have Dean Takes Care of Sammy to finish. First I got that stupid encrypt virus that killed my first attempt to work on the last chapter. Then my computer died and I couldn’t recover the second attempt. But I do know how it will play out, I just need to be inspired to work on it. 

Meanwhile, I have a new fandom and I just finished my first fanfic for it. 

Alec Almost Dies is done.
