I've done a lot of in depth writing about Vosco, but I'm not sure if I've ever just... gotten straight to the point about who they are.

Vosco is a Tasmanian devil/bison hybrid. They were raised mostly by their bison mother, who, while they still have a positive relationship, believed that Vosco would have more opportunities if they masked as a pure bison, and thus did not properly acknowledge the Tasmanian devil side of them. Because of this, Vosco has always felt closer to their dad. Though Vosco looks mostly like a bison, their personality and cravings align much closer to that of a devil.
After their dad passed away, they lost the one connection they trusted to accept their carnivorous side and as a result Vosco began to suppress themself and not acknowledge themselves as part carnivore at all, hoping that by suppressing it, they wouldn't have to acknowledge the hole that the loss created in their heart.
Of course, suppressing it didn't work. As a young adult, Vosco realized that by covering their horns with their fur, they could pass as a lion, so they created an alter ego, Piers the lion from this disguise. This allowed Vosco to finally feel like a carnivore again, and they sustained themselves on this outlet for 13 years until they realized it was no longer satisfying.
Vosco had never visited the Back Alley Market before this point, but feeling desperate, they went, hoping that it would make them feel more like a carnivore. They wandered deep into the alleys, eventually trespassing on Dokugumi territory, where the gang mistook them for a new Shishigumi member who had not yet learned the ropes about staying out of other gangs' territories. The lizards beat Vosco up and dumped them on the Shishigumi's doorstep as a warning.
After this point, Vosco began to get to know the Shishigumi and joined the gang, realizing that what they needed was connection with other carnivores.
