Some facts about my new FO4 OC Annie🖤

Annie doesn’t drink. Never liked the taste of alcohol even before the bombs, but now it all tasted sour. Even ‘bucket brew’ as the wastelanders called it, turned her stomach. Nukas are fine to stay up when on the road, coffee is her preferred caffeine route when home. Give her purified water anytime

Grooming

She likes to stay as clean as she can. Showers regularly, does laundry, shaves when she can. Her time with the BOS was enlightening on wasteland cleanliness. Brushes her hair and likes it up or tied back. Keeps her gear in tip top shape. I really like to role play that she is a traveling medic, since I work in healthcare irl.

Most expensive purchase

Getting HQ up and running was no easy, cheap task. Annie put up a lot of funding to get the departments up and running. Not to mention settlements. Making sure meds, chems, food is in good supply. Basically her caps go towards the greater good. She turned Starlight theater into a large “Family Center”. Arcade games, Nuka World carnival style games, rides for little kids, cotton candy machines and a weekly movie night. This fricken settlement took me so much time to build, but I think Annie found it therapeutic even though it was expensive to build.

Any tattoos or scars?

She has a cat tattoo on her right hand. It’s just a black line tattoo that she got when she was younger. As far s as scars go, no. A couple scrapes from commonwealth life, but nothing note worthy. I’am planning on her having burns at some point after her fight with the Forged.

Factions.

Annie is my FO4, Sim settlements 2 character. If you have not played this mod, consider it. Game changing. Annie starts off MM and stays with them for the most part. Gets the good, 3 faction ending. Spends a lot of time with the CPD, Commonwealth Police Department, along side Nick; solving crimes and going after Good Neighbor goons and Merowski dealers.

Annie loves the Nightingales. Helps them whenever she can. And it has nothing to do with Raphael… no matter what Jake thinks 😉

RR will always be special. Danse, Curie, little Shaun, Nick…synths are love 🫶🏻. Also Deacon is her boi.

Going back to the CPD, did I mention she got Gage to be a good boy…after the events of Nuka World, she spares the Pack and Operators and Gage; and as long as they don’t have to work with the MM, they’re fine working with Annie. Gage ends up working for the CPD and he ends up looking something like this 🫠

She is Mrs. Jake Evans. But it wasn’t like that in the beginning. Jake was friendly but distant, he had his own troubles he was going through. So while Annie was crazy for him, it took a while for Jake to reciprocate those feelings. But everyone knows the quick fix for the lonely blues can be found in Good Neighbor. Hancock and Annie had a few boozy nights together, but John is no dummy. He sees her broken heart and knows it longs for someone else and encourages her to go to Jake in her own time.

I can understand why someone would read the book and think they are just friends: in the book Aziraphale doesn't put his wing up to protect Crawly from the first rain in Eden. Crowley doesn't pin Aziraphale against a wall after being complimented. That scene with Aziraphale saying he doesn't like Crowley and Crowley saying otherwise, doesn't exist. Bentley doesn't play You're My Best Friend (a song written by Queen bassist John Deacon for his WIFE, whom he considered his best friend) and Somebody to Love when Crowley is going to see Aziraphale and after seeing the bookshop on fire. Crowley isn't devastated and doesn't drink a lot while crying, saying "I lost my best friend".

When other people in the story mention them as "gay", it's mostly in relation to Aziraphale (and most of the time as an insult). Anathema makes a remark about Aziraphale and Crowley as a couple after Crowley calls Aziraphale an "angel", and then she realizes that she wouldn't be at risk of being at the mercy of and in the car of sexual predators if they were gay.

Shadwell also makes an insulting comment about Aziraphale and Crowley together.

But mostly that's just how others see them, not who they are. So far the plot doesn't suggest anything specifically explicit about either of them (not that I can recall, at least). Nothing other than Aziraphale calling Crowley "My dear boy". Nothing other than them acting (and arguing) with each other like long friends (or like an old married couple, if you squint [because couples who share a brain cell often seem like 'best friends' and, like wine, that gets old like "an old couple arguing' {ask John Deacon}, but they really love each other, don't worry]).

The only line that really hints at them being more than friends is this: for the first time in the story 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square'.

Let's agree on something: let's face it, everything in the book is there on purpose, all the jokes (the ones that have aged well, the ones that have become obsolete, and the ones that have aged badly). But everything that is there was put there on purpose so that people from 1990 would understand it. With the exception of 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square', a ROMANTIC song from 1940.

That this line appears on purpose at the moment of the end of the characters' arcs is obvious. We have Anathema and Newt, an unlikely duo, we have Shadwell and Madame Tracy another unlikely duo, and then we have Aziraphale and Crowley another unlikely duo. All with plot promises of "being able to be something more for each other".

And you can't convince me otherwise: 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square' was placed in the final arc of Aziraphale and Crowley on purpose, strategically, as a coded message that what happens in the song was Aziraphale and Crowley's "happy ending", coded for a 1990 book. Why else would it be there? What would be the point of putting a romantic song whose lyrics fit perfectly into the plot, if it weren't to suggest something coded? Coded, so most people would continue to think they are just "good friends". And a select group of people would understand the reference and understand their happy ending. A portion of those who noticed the reference would turn up their noses and pretend it was a "bad taste" joke and dismiss it as nonsense. And many others who did notice the reference would be left with their hearts warmed. The end. No problem for 1990. Something that the authors could manage with a witty and insightful comment, either to affirm or deny anything, depending on who asks. And then it's 2005 and they claim that Aziraphale and Crowley are sharing a cottage in the South Downs, when asked what these characters are doing after the end of the book. And then it's 2019/2023 and the show doesn't need to code as much anymore! And then Aziraphale and Crowley can be more explicit, although some will still complain about that.

Some people: there shouldn't be anything romantic between Crowley and Aziraphale, they're just friends in the book and it should be that way in the show.

Last pages of the book, when the plot of each character is concluding, in the EXACT arc of Aziraphale and Crowley: for the first time in history, A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square*.

Literally the lyrics of this song:

19 years ago,Layne Nightingale,later known as a musketeer called Silver Layne Nightingale,was born in a pirate family and had a quite happy time with her parents.

However,her happy life with her parents ended when she was 6 and got separated with her parents in a strom.Luckly enough for her,Layne was adopted by a red coat who had been through the entire Polarian War.

The Marleybonian raised and taught her many things of how to be a fine musketeer,especially on observing targets.Besides the dog also taught Layne something about photography.

4 years later,Layne’s adoptive father retired which means he could spend more time with the little human.All things they enjoyed most was appreciating Marleybonian’s albums of photo he shot,when Layne poined at one of these photo,he would tell her the story behind this photo.

That’s how Layne learnt about how the war ended and how a powefull ally the Armada was to Marleybone in the war.She also learnt the tales of General Rooke,since then,Rooke is a powerful and brave figure in her mind.

As far as Layne was concerned,Rooke is more a hero than the Surpreme Commander is.In her views,Kane just being the one behind Rooke and planning all the things while Rooke is charging ahead in the battlefield and risking his very own life with other soilders,clockworks and living beings.She also daydreamed that she and Rooke will have a chance to fight side by side and support each other,but it just merely an absurd daydream of her after all.

And she wouldn’t think this daydream will come true in a rather different way she ‘d never expected before.

When Layne was 17,she told her adoptive father that she decided to become what her parents were,a musketeer.The old dog respected her will and told her there always a place for her in Marleybone.With an old album gifted by her adoptive father and all the wishes,Layne Nightingale sailed to Port Regal and began her life of being a musketeer on a Marleybonian ship.

 During her time in Port Regal,she heared a rumor that some Armada ships came to Skull Island but she had no iead about why they would come to some places like Skull Island and she never expected that she will come across with one called “Erebus”.

Still,Layne would consider Rooke to be her hero all the time despite she already knew the current Armada might had been change into something unexpected from the savior of the Spiral as they used to be considered.She also began to view the Armada in another point of views for their deeds in other worlds.

Several days ago,the musketeer’s ordinary life in Port Regal was ended in a way that Layne could never think of.She would never think she will actually meet a clockwork face to face,not to mention one of the Elites.But there she was,she directly met with the spymaster after being arrested.She heared this hideous clockwork before therefore Layne started to worry about her fate in the cell she in.

When she was thinking about what to do in the cell,someone blew up the cell and rushed in.Layne soon realized who this person was:a privateer called Reliable Katie.

Without any hesitation,Katie and Layne rushed to the board,they happened to meet with Deacon who wanted to stop them.However,when Boochbeared’s ship boarded Erebus,everything Deacon tried was in vain.

After their arrival in Skull Island,Katie told Layne she will rescue more pirates with Boochbeared and left.Layne had no iead about the privateer’s motivation and her next move,but she believed they will meet again soon.

Then she saw a swashbuckler and a buccaneer were walking toward her.For once,Layne felt something familiar with this swashbuckler as if she saw her somewhere even before she came to Port Regal but she couldn’t tell if it just an illusion of her.

Some sidenotes:

-Layne would never consider Deacon and Rooke are brothers but they do have some similarities.

-Really?:it seems Katie was the one who rescued all her future crewmates with the help from Boochbeared and Mr.Gandry.

-Melissa is the last one Katie rescued,maybe I will talk about this in her backstory later.

-The word “Silver” of her title is for her will be the one silver bullet to strike the evil down.(of course she won’t realize this until the moment comes)

-Even doubted Vanessa at the first sight and still doubting a lot,Layne still considers Vanessa as a crewmate of her.

-In some alternative universes,Layne is a Marleybonian officer who would assist the pirate crew in Book13 event and face Rooke himself on her very own.

After rewatching the last episode of Good Omens for like the 4th time, like any sane person would, I saw this in the credits

“With a special thanks to Queen”

Gosh I do hope so! There were so many Queen songs in this show that Freddie Mercury should be listed as part of the main cast!

And it’s

Queen is my favorite band ever and I thrived everytime I heard one of their songs in Good Omens because I know them and their significance so well.

And let me tell you that each song was used perfectly.

For exemple, the use of ”Somebody to love” after Crowley thought Aziraphale was dead was obviously perfect but the use of “You’re my best friend” right before that was also on point but in a much more subtle way since, like I said in a previous post, the song was written by the bassist of the group, John Deacon, for his very best friend in the world; his wife.

Another obvious perfect fit was “bicycle race” during the scene with Anathema and her bike. But another slightly more subtle reference (for those who aren’t Queen experts or haven’t watched with subtitles on) was the use of “I’m in love with my car” during the scene where Crowley just threw himself and his Bentley in the fire of the M25. (Fun fact, Roger Taylor, the drummer of the band and the one who wrote “I’m in love with my car”, wanted his song to be on the B-side of the single “Bohemian Rhapsody” so bad that he apparently locked himself in a cupboard until the other members of the group accepted; which is totally something Crowley would do)

I’ve also found later on that Queen was mentioned quite a few time in the book; in which there apparently is the following sentences:

“Crowley was currently doing 110 mph somewhere east of Slough. [...] Admittedly he was listening to a Best of Queen tape, but no conclusions should be drawn from this because all tapes left in a car for more than a fortnight metamorphose into Best of Queen albums.”

Which apparently comes from an inside joke between Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett according to this article I’ve read. (The quotation comes from the same article)

I’ve only listed the songs that stood out to me the most while I watched the show but if you want to read the article, it explains more about each song and why they were used during specific scenes and it’s *cheff kiss* (check the part about Bohemian Rhapsody)

So yeah, the music in this show is absolutely awesome and I haven’t even talked about the theme song or “a nightingale sang in Berkeley square” which would both deserve a post of their own.

(While I’m here, do you guys think I should read the book? I’m starting to consider buying it but I would like to know what the people who already read it thought of it. Also is the new version different than the original? And if it is which one should I read? Thanks in advance! 🙏🏼❤️)

Honestly can't get past how awesome obliterating things with your voice is. Her prime quest is to learn all words of power and rain fury down upon anyone who dare challenge her. Bears better run.

Curie:

Doesn't understand why she can't become a priestess. It seems like fun. Feels bad for all the sick people in the temple and will cast "healing hands" over all of them even if it is completely pointless.

Danse:

Somehow acquired the highest leveled dragonplate armour. Actually does the main quest..but has an existential crisis whenever he does the dragonborn dlc. Why does it sound like him?!?! Oh..and he joined the companions.

Deacon:

Becomes a nightingale. That's all.

Gage:

Spends all of his time in Markarth at the Diabella temple so he can ogle the statues. If he gets bored with that, he'll try to sneakily murder random townspeople and throw them off the waterfall.

Hancock:

Takes it as his own personal mission to assassinate jarl Ulfric- however he doesn't agree with the Imperials either so he can't join them. He's just an angry little man that wants to take over and be high king himself. Other than that, he does a bunch of shady shit with khajiits.

Macready:

Eventually settles down in Breezehome, married to Ysolda and he adopted that little beggar kid from Whiterun. It's a nice town....but his real talents lay in Riften.

Maxson:

Joins the Stormcloak Revolution and quickly becomes the highest ranking soldier in the entire army. Kind of pissed that he doesn't get to see Ulfric become high king. What the hell is taking so long?? Also into Dawngaurd, picks the Dawngaurd side.

Nick:

Why must you make him play these confusing games?

Old Longfellow:

Doesn't understand why he can't just stay in Dawnstar and make his own little fishing business.

Piper:

No greater happiness has she felt than when she fucked up the Thalmor Embassy. Aside from that, she's really into the Dawngaurd DLC- but she picks vampire side.

Preston:

Becomes the thane in all holds, constantly trying to do misc quests or chop firewood..or help farmers with their crops.

X6-88:

Wanted to do the Dark Brotherhood quest line but ended up killing Astrid (as well as all of the other captives) in the abandoned shack because he was pissed that she kidnapped him.
