Down the staircase at The Phillips Collection in DC. This is an amazing collection of art and the space itself is beautiful. This museum is home to work by some of my favorite artists, including Joan Miró and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. I don't know why it took so many trips before I visited this museum. A perfect Day (and Night) IN

Yesterday was a DAY. A day that started with travel at 6 am with ups and downs and emails and texts and phone calls (oh my) with about 100 people, as I prepare for two No Kid Hungry events I'm co-hosting here in D.C. in the next two days, and four events back in L.A. this month. Seriously. That's not even an exaggeration---over 100 people---and, it was a SUNDAY!! So, by the time I landed into Reagan and checked into my host hotel for the first few days of my D.C. trip - the W Washington D.C. Hotel - I was ready for a little, much-needed relaxation. Their whatever/whenever concierge team immediately made me feel at home by treating me to a glass of sparkling rosé on the rooftop - with the BEST city view - while they prepared my suite. And, let's talk about what a sweet suite it is! They reserved one of their "Fantastic Suites" for me, complete with a boardroom table, full living room, office space, separate bedroom, and, oh-so-luxurious bath. While I had been planning earlier in the day on hitting one of the best restaurants in town last night, I decided that what I REALLY needed was a good, old-fashioned night in. So, I ordered a bottle of Franciscan Cabernet, a filet prepared medium rare (accompanied by farm-fresh carrots and foie gras bread pudding) and a lime creme brûlée, took a hot bubble bath, and snuggled into my cozy sheets to watch Jurassic Park 3 and read my book. I don't anything has felt that indulgent - and, just for me - in a LONG time. And, by taking that time, I'm now better fueled to give of my heart and self to others this week as we work to spread the word - and, shine the light - on childhood hunger. Thank you for hosting me in your gorgeous, cozy home, W Hotels Worldwide.
