Film Camera Aesthetic

For my images in my magazine I wanted them to be more intimate rather than clean shots or staged shots. I knew I was going to be interviewing myself on camera so I needed to find an app to edit my photos in film form, it did take me a while to find apps that I liked because some I did discover looked fake and unrealistic.

I eventually found three seperate apps to ensure I got my desired outcome - ColourTone, Dispo and DazCam. Each app is actually very different, the dispo app is designed like a physical film camera that you would take to get developed. How it works is that you take photos throughout the day and at 9am the next morning they have been “developed”, I think this is actually a great idea because it adds an element of sentiment to an Iphone app. 

Coloutone is just a normal editing app where you have choices of filters and lighting positions, along with the other standard elements of photo editing you would expect from an app. I actually use this app in my own photos so navigating it was fairly straight forward.

DazeCam is pretty similar to Dispo however you can see the images straight away and edit it them to look how you want them to, with filters and grain. I mainly used this app because it gave me control over the “film” effect whereas Dispo did not.
