I know I talked about this book before, but...friends, this is really good. Its so magical. ⠀ ⠀ I recently worked on reframing + reclaiming some childhood stuff and felt waves of resistance. At first I was confused because my new perspectives felt true and authentic, yet they weren`t really sticking around for long. ⠀ ⠀ On the bus home (I always have good insights and leaky eyes on public transport for some reason) I realised that I had tried to skip some grief, which never works. I think we need more chats, tools and room for exploration of grief before the magic of reframing + reclaiming can truly happen. ⠀ ⠀ @corpusritual has lots of great writing and thoughts about grief too!⠀ ⠀ #griefwork #selfhealing #reframing+reclaiming https://ift.tt/2GQf10Q

I still love these tattoos so much. All of mine, now nearing 30, have helped me feel at home in my body and celebrate my skin as the ultimate manifestation of the boundaries I want to have <3. Lets make it international tattooist appreciation day and appreciate @myrtlemire, they are into validation. https://www.instagram.com/p/BhZjCr7gAQ5/

This August I gained so much more love for and understanding of the eight of cups. ⠀ ⠀ Being a cup card it's connected to feelings, relationship, healing, all the deep water stuff. Traditionally it's often read as a card about change, possibly loss and walking away from something that isn't working. ⠀ ⠀ But if you think more about the greater picture than the individual situation it's interesting to consider that for many of us it's kind of woven into the fabric of our lives. ⠀ ⠀ As queers we walk away from heteronormativity every day. As small business owners we unlearn what we've been told about who gets to be an entrepreneur or how you're supposed to trade with people all the time. ⠀ ⠀ And I think it's also cool to remember what comes after that - the nine and ten of cups with all their joy and abundance and community and stability. No accident for sure! ⠀ ⠀ So I want to make that card more of a symbolic talisman to remember that it's okay to walk into the unknown because most likely that's much better than known stuff that doesn't work. ⠀ ⠀ These cards are from the anima mundi and the fountain decks. ⠀ ⠀ #tarotramblings #eightofcups #tarotforselfcare #queertarot #queermagic #slowmagic #daydreamingwolves https://ift.tt/2ouCnST

Monthly Magic + Patreon offerings are changing a bit!⠀ ⠀ As I have mentioned before I am shifting the monthly ritual kits to a year long container called The Magic of Embodiment starting in October. There is still the possibility to opt out and drop into it as desired, but those who want to will be able to make a year long commitment to making their own magic, step by step and in their own time. ⠀ ⠀ As part of this I will be running free live workshops every other months that directly relate to what we are looking at in the program at that time. The sessions will also be longer as I love for us to have more space to drop in and get to know each other. Each month ALL Patreons will receive the following themed package of magic: ⠀ ⠀ 🌿A video welcome with theme intro and group tarot reading as well as some seasonal reflections⠀ 🌿An easy to do herbal recipe⠀ 🌿An pre-recorded audio journaling workshop⠀ 🌿A tarot spread to explore the theme⠀ 🌿A ritual suggestion to make more space for magic⠀ 🌿A playlist on Spotify⠀ 🌿A richer plant friend profile⠀ ⠀ This content will be available on Teachable so that you can log into one place and access/revisit everything at once as you wish. ⠀ ⠀ All new Patreons also get access to an archive with past ritual kits. ⠀ ⠀ Pricing is a tricky one - I will make this available to all Patreons, but I am also aware that often we put more energy into things we paid lots for (which is a shame because this will be super rich and you'll get so much out of it if you make space for magic!) and that for me as a creator I need quite a few people in order to be able to really pour energy into it. So if you know anyone who might like this please share or tag them so I can keep this accessible! And if you can donate a little more than the minimum of $3 I would of course appreciate that too. ⠀ ⠀ If you want in you can become a Patreon through the link in my profile. ⠀ ⠀ #DaydreamingWolves #queermagic #tarotreader #ritualmagic #queertarot #plantmagic #herbalism #folkherbalism ⠀ https://ift.tt/2wlMVHC

The Anima Mundi deck came into my life last week and I'm a bit in love. ⠀ ⠀ I have time next week to do lovingly made audio readings + custom rituals - so if you want some guidance as the seasons change hit me up! They are $33-55 sliding scale and you can book though the link in my profile. ⠀ ⠀ As a tarot reader for others it's important to me that clients can choose a deck from the ones I have that feels like it really resonates with their life's experience and identity when so many decks are mainly white, straight, able bodies, skinny etc etc. I currently offer the Divina deck, the Next World tarot, the Wild Unknown, the Fountain tarot and now the Anima Mundi. ⠀ ⠀ I love this latest addition because it's not just incredibly beautiful, but also nature and animal based. The only human in the deck is the devil card, ha, so there is less "human baggage" that can sometimes come with human based decks. It feels soothing, a bit moody in a good way, very rich and very earthy. ⠀ ⠀ #animamunditarot #tarotreadings #queertarot #queermagic ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ https://ift.tt/2BC4uZT

Following on from my last post about how we could shift from focussing on diet culture to challenging white supremacy I want to share some more thoughts and resources. ⠀ ⠀ I know this is a meme and that those get lots of more attention than longer, more wordy posts, which is a shame because I think actual discussions, ideally irl, are super important and probably more helpful. ⠀ ⠀ I feel sure about this: diet culture and narrowly defined standards of beauty are a tool of oppression most of us are struggling with. It's painful and it's taking up headspace and resources that could be used for so many other things. Wanting to loose weight in itself is not the problem, Western beauty standards creating hierarchies between people is. ⠀ We are swimming in diet culture from such an early age and social media/ads/constant bombardment are taking a toll, perhaps even more than on previous generations. Being consumed by thoughts of body/self-hate often means we struggle to understand ourselves as the powerful agents of change we can be. ⠀ ⠀ To me this meme was a reminder that we have a choice here - we can resist this and we can choose to redirect our energy and attention elsewhere. To more meaningful causes and towards more compassion for ourselves and others. We can remember that our value is not based on how attractive we are to the male gaze, that we don't owe beauty or compliance and that we can use our power to offer real, solid solidarity to people of colour and other marginalized folks.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Some folks asked for resources, so I will repeat them here: "The body is not an apology" by @sonyareneetaylor and "So you want to talk about race" by Ijema Oluo are great books. @laylafsaad has also very generously created the #meandwhitesupremacy challenge and many people have shared amazing thoughts and resources around this. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ https://ift.tt/2w44lZY

Happy new moon in Leo, witches! ⠀ ⠀ Thanks so much for your patience, I feel it was worth it as today's episode is with Tess, the @cityxwitch who is an absolute dream babe, makes incredible zines and offers beautiful tarot magic. I recently had an emergency reading with them, which was super helpful, and I read the zine I have from them often. ⠀ ⠀ I hope our conversations gives you some joy and maybe a sense of not being alone in your weird and wonderful witchcraft, at least that's how I felt after talking to Tess. Here is what we dreamed about: ⠀ ⠀ Working with willow to process grief ⠀ 🌙How Tess was introduced to magic⠀ 🌙Being disillusioned by binary based approaches to magic⠀ 🌙Witchcraft on tumblr and sharing radical ideas through social media⠀ 🌙Hexing your local rapist ⠀ 🌙Using your phone charger for magic⠀ 🌙Working with the hermit card⠀ 🌙Generosity and abundance in our communities ⠀ ⠀ tess is a collective tarot reader, city witch, and zinester based in Ottawa, Canada. they are a cancer sun and moon, aries rising. they studied history and political science at the University of Ottawa and are an alum of lindsay mack's wild soul tarot teachings. influenced by anarchist studies on gendered labour and bodily autonomy, tess approaches tarot as a spiralic, revolutionary tool to assist the collective.⠀ ⠀ #DaydreamingWolves #queertarot #quermagic #tarotreaders #ritualmagic #plantmagic #folkherbalism #folktarot #slowmagic https://ift.tt/2w0WcVq

I still don't feel I have the right words, but I do want to say something about the things that unfolded around Susun Weed this week. ⠀ ⠀ A quick recap: Susun Weed was arrested for choking one of her students this week and many many people have come forward with similar stories of abuse and harassment. Susun is also a very well know teacher of herbalism, has written many books and made significant contributions to the well woman tradition. ⠀ ⠀ I am deeply sorry for the abuse many people have experienced and I am heartbroken about the fact that it has taken so long for us as a community to take action. I believe that listening to, believing and protecting survivors should always be our main priority and that this is in fact a direct extension of what we are trying to share about in herbal communities - a kind, gentle and sustainable approach that honours all living beings and centres harm reduction, healing and community. ⠀ ⠀ I also know that herbal, tarot and many other spiritual communities face problems around inclusion, diversity and sustainability that we are only beginning to address and that we are being invited to step up and do much, much better when it comes to challenging oppressive structures and social justice. While this might feel overwhelming and challenging at times, I want to try and remember that what we are being called to do is, at the end of the day, just to walk our talk and to live by the values we teach. ⠀ ⠀ I understand that all of us (esp white folks)myself included, yearn for teachers to show the way, for elders we can really trust and lean into. In theory that feels like such a soothing idea in a chaotic world. I also know that our current call out culture is deeply flawed and far from an alternative to our punitive justice system. So often we step away from these conversations because we know we don't have a good answer to the question "What comes after the call out?". I have done that. ⠀ ⠀ But I am speaking about this and naming names because I feel I have a responsibility to protect people who are seeking mentors and who possibly even want to do apprenticeships from making similarly traumatic experiences. Continued in comments. https://ift.tt/2vXLWNy

I had a weird realisation between client calls today: being close to people who are invested in being cool is painful. ⠀ ⠀ It's the opposite of save belonging and healthy intimacy. ⠀ ⠀ Why do we still think cool people are cool? ⠀ I love @some_chickweed writing and while it wasn't on exactly this, it got me there. Hi friends, just wanted to say that today is the last day to register for the free course on becoming a herbalist with @herbalacademy ⠀ It's a great way to get an overview of what your path could be like and the materials are really beautiful. Their blog has a ton of free resources and recipes, also really worth checking out. ⠀ ⠀ If you end up taking one of their paid courses (though you are welcome to just take the free one) you will indirectly support my business as I am getting a small commission. The link is in my profile!⠀ ⠀ Also also, I am back in full swing and am offering a free seasonal living workshop on September 16th - this is part of a larger new project I am really excited about. More info about the greater picture soon, but for now you can sign up for the workshop through the second link in my profile. ⠀ ⠀ #DaydreamingWolves #herbalism #plantmagic #folkherbalism #plantmedicine https://ift.tt/2AMsWHD
