It’s Day 203 of the Windy Wessagusset Wimple of 2024. The wind was out of the northeast at 4mph with gusts to 8mph. The temperature was 83°, and felt like it was 78°. I used the Dark Orchid color of Red Heart Super Saver yarn to show the wind was out of the northeast. I worked my knitting in garter stitch since the wind was blowing at 4mph. It was a sunny day in Wessagusset, and it was hot outside. There was a slight breeze, but not enough to cool things off. The bombshell news today was Joe Biden withdrawing from the Presidential election. I was shocked that he did it, but I am glad he is giving his party a chance to win. It will depend on Kamala Harris being able to unite the party behind her. It will also depend on her running mate. We’ll have to wait and see whom she will choose. Be safe out there.

DAY 203: Where the Hell’s Jerusalem?

I was killing time at Cheapo about a week ago. And as I was browsing, something occurred to me: I’ve regret that I’ve clearly lost any ability to determine the difference between Classic Rock & Modern Rock.

It seemed like when I was in Modern, I’d find artists that just didn’t make sense there.

And when I was in Classic, the same thing happened. 

Just when I thought I’d figured the formula out, something jumped out & didn’t make any sense.

And before you say something like, “Modern is reserved for new artists AND Classic artists who’ve just released a new album,”

the above Morrissey album is from 2017 & it’s STILL in Classic.

The fact is, I regret that I’m apparently an old fart, who can’t see the line of demarkation. But in my defense, I think record stores are tantamount to whoever the fuck decides who Jerusalem belongs to. 

And the fucked-up thing is that when I see something like THIS,

I feel like Israel/Palestine thing seems like a fucking CAKEWALK by comparison.

I mean, there are obvious examples for sure. Artists who make sense in the section they’re in:

But how long is Mac Demarco gonna be in Modern? Until he hits 30? Until he stops putting albums out? When then?

I remember back in the 80′s, listening to shit like Kajagoogoo & Culture Club & Duran Duran or whatever New Romantic trash was playing on the radio.

And wondering what would be considered Classic Rock when I was old. Well, here we are.

I don’t know what to say. 

I guess I’m happy I’M not the one having to make these kinds of choices. Because I’d hate to be the subject of some turd’s Tumblr just because I shoved THIS in the wrong section ironically:
