every day that I wake up in emprise du lion is another day I get closer to storming the black city to take down the maker himself
#‘the black city’ being the lighthouse and ‘the maker himself’ being probably solas imo#but STILL I hate that place I hate that place I hate that place#the high level wolves. the red templars EVERYWHERE. the world’s worst ocularium with 6 (!!!) godforsaken shards I can’t find#I spent 15 minutes trying to find the last shard on that one and had to turn off the game because it made me MOTION SICK#the level design is so annoying to me like I hate the layout and I hate the ugly dirty snow and I hate running around the stupid quarry#I am an emprise du lion hater first and foremost and I dread going there every playthrough#the fade is empty and all the demons are here#(imshael you’re on thin ice because I do fuck with you)#also ALSO this is the spot I get felandaris from#and it makes me so unreasonably upset to have to get this far in the game just to complete one (1) hinterlands quest!!!!!!!#letter from a lover quest you will never be good#not that I can ever clear my hinterlands request because of the FERELDAN LOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess Portland got some pretty gnarly weather but my friend has been texting me to complain about it, like she called off work cause it's so bad and I'm like. Trying so hard not to be That Person but babe, please. We just had a two day snowstorm that dropped over a foot of snow on us, and most of the roads are still ice, and it's been in the negatives for two solid days. And I've had to go to work regardless of all that. 20,000 people in Milwaukee lost power and some still don't have it. Meanwhile the picture she sent me of her street looks completely clear with like a dusting of snow by the curbs.
REALLY trying not to be That Person. But. Well, I am. And before anyone gives me the "it's different everywhere" spiel you need to know that I am from Florida and learned to drive in the snow in a Colorado blizzard. So I get it. But still.
#you know that vine that's like I'M A NORTHERNER HERE TO TELL YOU IT ISN'T THAT COLD? that's me lol#although she said it was 15 degrees there yesterday which is actually cold lol#the ramp off the highway at work is SOLID ICE#like they plowed it once halfway through the storm and never came back#and it's not going anywhere until it warms up again#and i still go to work every day#the other day on the highway i literally could not tell where the lanes were cause it was just solid snow#we all had to crawl along at 30mph#....and i still went to work!#that said i think stressing about the snow sapped a lot more of my energy than i thought#cause i was off yesterday and slept almost the whole day lol

#Transitionary periods of life are So! Stressful!!#I hate getting texts and stuff from friends and family like ‘did you get into [prestigious university i applied for] yet?’#like. No! they only let in like 15% of applicants! it’s going to take them a while to decide!!#and their immediate follow-up question is ‘when will you find out?’#That information! is NOWHERE. on their WEBSITE!!!#plus we just had three snow days at work and I missed out on like 20 of my work hours for last week#so my paycheck is gonna be super slim on Friday!#and I have not bought groceries in a while!#thank god I have a remote job or I would probably be freezing my ass off in a tent right now! (woo precarious situations!)#oh. and I have my comprehensive exams to prepare for too.#I have three weekends to write three 5 page (single-spaced; 10 if they’re double-spaced) research papers#these three weekends will be happening in March.#that’s. not very far away from us right now. I got. a few weeks. tops. to prepare for this.#and I did do a lot of prep work already. I took a capstone course. I did an independent study#and I read a LOT of stuff about phonetics/phonology last month#but like. I won’t know the questions until the weekend I have to write the paper. 5 pages in 2 days. that’s stressful.#i am suprised I’m not wearing a rut in the floor from pacing so much!#I will be going insane. through no fault of my own. (unless you count giving up a cushy job and moving internationally a fault? yeah ok)
