I like to think that Glinda has some flavor of ADHD and has lived her whole life unaware that ADHD is a thing, much less how to manage it. And while Elphaba is seemingly inherently magical, if she could figure out how to 'trick' her brain into focusing, she could be powerful in ways Elphaba simply can't be. Sorcerer vs Wizard, basically.
