On Queer-positive Sonic Expression and Activism in Palestine: 10 Songs
By an ArabLit contributing writer
The current crisis in Palestine is humanitarian. It’s not queer. Not feminist. It’s a crisis of more than 14,000 dead, more than 6,000 of them children.
The war machine doesn’t distinguish between LGBTQ+ and heterosexual individuals when it carpet-bombs densely populated residential areas in Gaza, or when Israeli settlers drive Palestinians in the West Bank out…
Does anybody know of a music DAW that's like. intermediate level?
I've started music making on This Shit
not to say it's bad at all, it's awesome, it's also kinda an mspaint of music making and I want to find a DAW between that and the ones with a million different features.
For example: I started drawing digital art on mspaint, then went to ibispaint x on my phone, then to clip studio, and it was the smoothest experience of my life.
I'm trying to find the Ibispaint of music production.
testing out time signature things in Mixcraft. it goes for 8 bars total, three of 7/8 followed by either a bar of 17/16 or 4/4. the kick and snare pattern was modeled after me trying to remember blink-182's the fallen interlude off of their untitled album without going back to reference it.
interestingly, Mixcraft's focus on loops means you can edit the first part of a loop and it will change every loop connected to it afterwards, e.g. i had to mess with only the first cowbell loop to get the other two repetitions to be copied exactly, something i had to do manually in ACID Music Studio, which occasionally led to some fun mistakes but usually not.
i have not tested to see if copying and pasting a loop will copy the time signature changes yet. extending the loop does not, which is kind of annoying because i have to manually type the time signature each time.
ive been leaving the timeline set to beats instead of time which is something ACID doesn't do, and is cool because i never want to know how long or short my music is.
oh to be the bass player only having to resort to the drummer because the singer and lead guitarist are starting up their playful romantic buffoonery and solely perform for each other
I'm gonna be real there is verrry little recorded music I've done that I feel proud of and am comfortable showing to people. At some point in my life I'd like to record something that I can point to and be like "Look at this! I made this" without feeling the need to make some kind of apology for it.
