The Omega Kids choosing whether to play a game that WILL get them killed, result in unknowable amounts of trauma and will likely mean they never see any of their friends or loved ones again
or continuing to hang out with their shitty parents:

It's really funny that one of the plot points from the homestuck epilogues, now more obviously and outright said in this latest beyond canon update, is that
"Gods are real, and they need to leave the world the fuck alone"

There's just something so interesting about Vriska's role when it comes to the kids
Like, when she first got there, at least in HS2, already she started to do her "Vriska thing": "Things are broken/weak, I need to fix them"
But it was different from HS because here, at least with Vrissy, there was an actual reciprocation of this idea: they saw her do cool shit, make decisions and somewhat include them with it (even if they were honestly pretty stupid decisions), because fundamentally yeah things were broken, so she takes on this catalyst role of "ex hero training a new group" that you sort of see in these "children of ex heroes" stories, but there's a hint of "this isn't the best for them, but nothing else is really giving them any good options that actually involve them making a choice"
And then the therapy limbo happens, and she kind of sees just how much she
1. Really wasn't much of a hero
2. Her way of doing things wasn't really the best for her growing up
3. You can't fix everything
And so now she's back, and immediately she puts everything to a standstill, and it's like: "okay, things are messed up, you guys can either try to fix what clearly cannot be fixed or we can move on and change a little, start off in a better place in a better time"
And once again she becomes a catalyst of making a choice, and the kids actually totally have a choice here: stay home and wait for everything to go bad again with no say, maybe they DO get a relatively normal life like their parents clearly wanted but most likely not especially with the scale of the war and how fragile the world is
or see where things go with Vriska
Because of the nature of being a sequel, I know most people care more about the returning characters, but it's interesting to me to see how the kids get handled, like I just know they're building up something there
