Couple more recommendations here: anything by Earthquaker are amazing. The ProCo RAT is a great pedal too.
Ok, I think this is the last recommendation.
Thanks all!

dashandblast replied to your audio post: So, the Fulltone OCD is the most incredible...
our other guitarist just got one of these, and i’ve got the plimsoul which is a bit more of a classicy distortion. these pedals are glorious.
Its absolutely amazing, its basically like adding a Marshall gain channel to my Fender.
Fulltone makes really awesome pedals (although I couldn't really get along with the fulldrive 2 mosfet I had for a few weeks)

More of a post-rocker than a math-rocker, but for our noisier more mathy moments I use a Big Muff which I can recommend whole-heartedly. The Fulltone OCD is amazing, and the Plimsoul is even better for high-gain drive. Boss distortions are pretty tasty, but if you wanted something balls-heavy like a Muff, but with more control, you should look at the Big Muff with Tone Wicker. £10 more and loads more options!
