What is Dashain for Nepalese? The longest And biggest Hindu holiday in Nepal lasts for two weeks. I would correct, It's not just for Hindus anymore; in Nepal, it's for all religions. It is a national festival. Its our culture and tradition. It is a time for getting together with family, exchanging presents and blessings, and participating in detailed pujas of goddess durga. As I already said, we observe this event for two weeks. The series of events during Dashain are Ghatasthapana (6th day), Phool Pati (7th), Mahaastami (8th), Nawami (9th), and Vijaya Dashami (10th), which is tika day. Each of these events is noticed with a unique set of rituals. People are observed going around on the tenth day i.e tika, wearing new clothing, jamara (the grass that emerges after barley seeds mature) and tika (a dab of red vermilion mixed with yogurt and rice) on their foreheads. As people visit relatives' houses to receive tika and blessings from their elders, there is tremendous eating of Khasi ko Masu(goat meat) :). As far as I am aware, Tika, it is solely in Nepal and is intended only for Nepalese. In Shorts: These days, Tika, Jamra, and prasad of goddest Navadurga Bhavani are taken from the hands of elders, parents, gurus, and dignitaries in the family in order to obtain success, prosperity, and long life. Last but not least, I wish all Nepalis People around globe for good health, a long life, and advancement into the future on the joyous occasion of Vijaya Dashami, the significant festival of the Nepalese people. #Nepal #Dashain2079 #Culture #Tradition Pic Source/Credit: Social Sites https://www.instagram.com/p/CjUKgjJPpo7_RHzR3COqQOLs1wAt3TWMKVTPiA0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
