i need a darcy lewis and steve rogers across the years fic, snippets of them having a moment together during the events of every movie or in between movies. idc what rating. 

things i’d love to see (or headcanons in no particular order):

friend to lovers (like darcy is a great distraction for steve but i notice it’s like that’s all she is to him in most shieldshock fics? i’d like to see steve actually open up to her, like really trusting her with the pain/regret/longing he carries and darcy doing the same. and darcy being vulnerable and soft and not always her witty, vibrant self. and generally both of them being there for each other in more ways than one)

darcy character growth, adjusting to becoming a shield agent (not field tho)/liaison officer for the avengers, a bamf who totally kicks ass in her respective field but also has moments where she spectacularly fails, darcy having breakdowns, darcy celebrating her small and big wins, darcy adulting and babysitting a bunch of superheroes. darcy befriending everyone and managing them when they need to be managed

steve and darcy breaking up and getting back together.... a lot. sometimes it's steve who ends it, sometimes it's darcy. sometimes its bc of their line of work that makes it hard to stay connected so they drift apart, or that darcy gets anxious and sad to see steve stubbornly put others before himself, even if that means dying to save the world. maybe it’s their surprising mutual inability to let people in which is frustrating for both of them. and the both of them wishing things could be less complicated yet fiercely and hopelessly loving each other despite how different their personalities, work, and lives are

darcy having a serial dating phase after one bad breakup and realising she’s only dating people who reminds her of steve bc she’s obviously still in love with him. meanwhile, nat and sam calls steve out for religiously stalking darcy’s instagram for the past month and he freaks out when sam snatches his phone and likes all of her photos accidentally on purpose

steve calling her at night when he’s drunk (it takes a lot of bottles to get mr supersoldier drunk so this must be a very bad no good day for rogers to get shitfaced) because he’s a mess and needs to talk to someone who isn’t an avenger and darcy listens. she always listens

i used to not be a huge fan of the soulmate au but i like the idea that the universe has fated these two impossibly different individuals (yet weirdly similar in some ways) to be together

basically both of them being flawed human beings but trying to make it work despite the obstacles in their way

angst please, ptsd recovery (for both of them, i think working for SHIELD would get her into all kinds of trouble) and support (from each other + loved ones + therapy), hurt & comfort (post-snap, darcy is there for him after he loses bucky again)

optional: ok but the goddamn ANGST if tony was her dad (or uncle?? relative?? idk but they’re protective over each other) and darcy finds out what happened to them both during the end of civil war. steve either ghosts her after that, unable to face her after what he’s done or tony tells him to never come near her again and steve obliges.

but also fluff and them trying to be domestic and meeting darcy’s parents and holidays spent together and dancing (steve gets sad at first, suddenly remembering peggy and thinking it’s her in his arms again but darcy understands [ugly sobbing]. that night while laying in bed, darcy holds him and asks him about her and he tells her everything) and days when the world doesn’t need captain america

bucky and darcy bro moments, bonding through mutual love for steve and an unexpected hobby. bucky comforting darcy when steve is away. darcy sending bucky a care package while he’s recovering in wakanda. the both of them bullying steve together. bucky acting like an older brother for her.

darcy and shuri and peter deadass reciting vines to each other and confusing the hell out of bucky and steve

steve and darcy during the five years of post-snap earth (there is not enough fics of this currently dhausdnasd). i can totally see darcy becoming good friends with valkyrie/brunnhilde (”You’re... peculiar” “Thanks!”) and helping asgardian refugees settle down in new asgard. she’s there when bruce and rocket fetch thor and gets into a fight with the raccoon. though reluctant at first, thor gets her to come along w them to the compound. she hasn’t seen steve in some time since their last breakup so things get super awkward. she confides in nat who stealthily arranges for them to have a quiet moment to reconnect. they do.

darcy calling clint out on the serial killer phase because someone has to (they’re buddies, she can knock some sense into him alongside nat)

darcy having a huge crush on carol and steve being lowkey jealous “watch it rogers, you’re not the only captain in my life now”

darcy and jane’s friendship and both of them being integral to saving the world, with them showing up at the end of endgame with weapons of their own: science!! and sarcasm!! 

peter passing darcy the gauntlet (Darcy: ”Dude! What the hell am I supposed to do with this!?” Everyone: “RUN!”) and subsequently being protected by her legion of superherione friends as she scream “oh shit” x3000 while running through the battlefield evading thanos and his minions

billy eichner voice: and yes! it is in fact a wedding at the end of endgame! AND IT’S THEIRS

obligatory tony does not die

post inifinity war fix-it fic where steve doesn't stay in the past. he returns the stones and retires as an avenger in the present, moving forward in life. only acts as a consultant for the new avengers. he and darcy travel the world and settle comfortably in brooklyn

they have babies! or not! but if so, darcy freaking out at being a mom. then darcy getting the hang of it and totally rockin mom life. and steve being a really good dad but also terrified at first. their kids hang out w tony and pep’s
