The Furry Kingdom and its attack, Marshall's scar and his fall from grace

✧SO! Time for a rundown and some theories!✧

First off let's talk about the Furry Kingdom!

I am not gonna go into a ton of details here cuz there isn't much to talk about but we can say the obvious stuff: It's a monarchy reigned by King Magnus filled with anthropomorphic animals, the majority from what we've seen are females (the exceptions are: Marshall, King Magnum and the bartender that Marshall was sitting in front of,) also there seems to be a royal guard that Marshal is apart of and the princess was captured by the trolls.

Now that I mentioned the trolls, they seem to be from another kingdom in this world, (cuz Prince Britishimo has that title and also he said "the king says he's here." referring to Danny, that also makes me wonder how does the Troll King know? Was he the reason why Danny is trapped in this new world?) anyways this troll kingdom is probably near Furry Kingdom and because of it, it was easy for them to take the princess and run away with her.

They also took her to Furry Mexico, a place that doesn't sound like a place where the trolls live! So they took her to a more faraway and dangerous place than the "Troll Kingdom" (we don't know if that's the name of the troll's kingdom but it's probably that.)

Oh my that was a lot- uhm anyways-

Marshall and his backstory!

So, imma talk about everything we know about Marshall and add on it:

He lives in the Furry Kingdom, his village though was burned down lets say a couple of years back in the present by the Troll king and got a scar, he is part of the royal guard and knows how to use a sword and shurikens, he has a lot of internalized homophobia because he might be queer and maybe has a crush on the "The Hairless," he had a dad that was most likely killed by the King of the trolls (I don't think prince britishimo was the one who did it because Marshall didn't have a visceral reaction when he first saw him, but it makes sense that Prince Britishimo could've been told by his father about Marshall's dad just so he can piss him off instantly.)

Now let's first talk about his dad's death, he died when he was very young, killed by The Troll king. After this Marshall decided to train his entire life to protect his Kingdom and avenge his father, so he joined the Royal Guard, (maybe his dad was a guard too, so maybe he followed his steps) and he excelled at it and became King Magnum's number one guard and warrior...

Now that's interesting, Mary the fox, the one who told Danny and the audience about his scar story said "he used to be King Magnum's number one guard and warrior" so he isn't that anymore?

My theory is that when the Trolls attacked, Marshall failed to protect his village, also leaving the kingdom without its best warrior. He failed, and King Magnum doesn't like failure. (the only interactions between Magnum and Marshall was literally Magnum screaming at him and Marshal complaining.) So after this Marshall fell from grace, became just another guard and truly became a lone wolf...

OH yeah and his scar (that btw prince britishimo has two in both of his eyes), is very interesting, he has heterochromia (ironic cuz there is nothing hetero about this boy) a blue and a pink eye, and now yall might wonder "okay, where is this scar? His left or right eye?" good question! NO IDEA! Danny's style is inconsistent which makes sense but we can decide ourselves pfgjhgh.

From my observations, the most frequent is the left eye, usually blue, but in the flashback when he got the scar it was in the right blue eye- So yeah- pick your fave I guess.

Spare Ev and Anne being bf & gf hc?

hell yes

theyre the kind of couple that you’d have no clue that theyre dating if you saw them just hanging out in public. theyre too busy bickering and teasing each other

that is until you notice all the handholding and the quick pecks they give each other

its a combination of ev’s old habits dying hard and anne being more resilient and sticking up for herself more. usually its over little stuff tho, like which fast food place to stop at or who’s gonna hold the door open for the other

its the most awkward for them after amphibia bc their dynamic was shaken the most in canon. it takes a while for them to warm back up to each other, but eventually they find their footing

after they reunite in s3 but before they defeat darcy (darshall?), the two would spend most nights just sitting with each other. not rly cuddling or anything but just sitting next to the other person in silence. they dont rly know what to do or say so they just. sit there.

sometimes when they hang out in each others rooms they put something on in the background (music/movie/tv) while they paint each others nails

they go on bouldering/rock climbing dates <3

they compete in planning the best dates for their girlfriends

ev likes nuzzling into anne’s neck

annes still has trouble looking at ev’s cheek scar sometimes

they totally kissed before amphibia (“platonically,” as “friends” of course)

they do the thing where one of them bumps the other w their shoulder, then that person bumps the first one back, then it slowly escalates into playful fighting

theyre sparring buddies :3

one time when they were rly young they were playing house or smth when ev decided “Hey we should get married!! >:3” and anne just went along w it bc why not. so they gather together all their stuffed animals and toys and stuff and set up a ceremony right then and there in the bedroom, with marshall officiating. they even got complimentary ring pops and signed fake certificates. ev still has his to date

anne and ev are the ones to dance around each other the most after amphibia. marshall has the sort of the same kind of issue, but ev especially is rly worried abt hurting anne again and ruining everything. it takes a couple months for them to fully fall back into their old banter. ev still hasnt fully shaken the habit of backing down too quickly tho

anne still has trouble looking at the scar she gave ev (from toad tower). still, she likes to kiss all of her scars and nicks from the months away from earth.

ev will never admit that he likes being carried by anne

he still insists on giving her piggy back rides every once in a while. even tho hes the shorter one

they fight over who can carry the most grocery bags into the house

ev has offered to cook for dates on multiple occasions. all of them went horribly. ok slight exaggeration, but every time she offered they ended up eating out

anne tries to teach ev to cook more than just variations of eggs but they dont make much progress. ev’s egg quality does improve tho

sometimes when either one of them are feeling bad, they like to just stroll aimlessly around town. sometimes they chat or throw banter, but most of the time theyre too tired to bother so they just walk in comfortable silence, hand in hand.

goes for all three of them but. lots of hugging. so many hugs. bc none of them wanna let go of the others ever again

So whenever I think of "Danny Smoke in furry land" my mind goes to obviously the dynamic between Danny and Marshall, Darshall? Marnny?! Straight Warriors?

They makes me think of all the angst potential they have! Both characters have this fear of being perceived as "gay," Marshall when he blushes after Danny catches him.

Danny after finding out the troll almost made him gay with the gay potion!

The compulsive heterosexuality in our heroes is very interesting, cuz they are the protagonists, both "straight" and opposed to the idea of being queer in any way, which contrasts a lot with our counter parts/antagonists, King Magnum and Prince Britishimo (which both are regal figures but that's another thing) they are both openly attracted to men... so being gay in this world seemingly is something people in power or perverts (or both) are.

Ofc our protagonists are not straight, Danny wasn't opposed to the idea of having "fun, gay fun" with King Magnum, and well, Marshall's blush speaks for itself. So this is gonna be a journey of self discovery and love.

BUT WHAT IF IT ISNT!?!? Now let me tell you of what else I think a lot about this series... The beginning. What happens? you might ask, Danny is about to show us his new girlfriend. But he then gets sucked into Furryland.

So unless Danny is in an open relationship, he is a cheater. And probably not very good at relationships (yes he is a fuckboy) we have lots of evidence in the series of that. SO EVEN PAST THE INTERNALIZED HOMOPHOBIA THERE IS SO MUCH MORE ANGST MATERIAL YALL.

Andrias was visibly bothered by the sting of Rex's aura, but dared not drop him and risk angering his Lord. He gritted his teeth, focusing on the Core as it flexed its mechanical claws.

It scoffed. " No one can resist mind control. Need I give you a dictionary to remind you what control means? " Darshall paused a moment. " No matter how much you fight it..."

It lifted its helmet enough for Rex to see the human face beneath the plastic. " You will help us. Isn't that what you came here to do? "

As Rex charged forward to the pedestal that held the Calamity Box, the eyes on Darshall’s helmet narrowed, and it moved back into the room with him. It shot a glare to Andrias, who moved forward to pick up the older man gently but firmly.

It let out a hum as it moved closer to him again, now at eye level as Rex was held up in the air. “ You think we’re foolish enough to keep you free? We know you would never willingly join our army; the Lady and General refused as well, and even tried to steal our host away from us. So we simply… changed their minds, so to speak. ”

The orange eyes below Rex looked up at him with piercing gazes. Darshall continued.

“ You’re not leaving this castle, and you’re not going to harm it or our army. You’re staying here; the only choice you have is whether you’re here dead or alive. ” it re-explained its earlier statement. It hoped he would understand this time.

“*ERGHK!*”

Rex struggled in the grasp, trying to break free. The controlled Andrias’s grip was unyielding. Little flares of Rex’s aura seeped out like flames and thundering static. They had him now, but it was almost assured doing so would be like trying to hold a hot potato. 

“Maybe not now, but that just means when I do– I’m going out with a BANG! And nuts to your mind control!!”

It had been weeks since Nix last saw Marshall.

All the young boy had told her before heading to Newtopia was that he was going to see if the King had figured out how to send them home. He told Nix that he'd return to pick her up once he had, so that they could all go home.

But that never happened. He never came back to get him, and for some reason the castle had begun to hover in the air. And even stranger, she would often see his steed, Joe Sparrow, flying around without him, almost as if he were lost. It all added up to something suspicious going on. And Nix was determined to figure it out.

After luring the giant bird to the ground, she rode Joe Sparrow up to the castle, not wanting to wear herself out or risk losing herself before even getting to the place. She sent him away once they arrived, feeling that if he was seen lurking about it would be suspicious. The inside of the castle was eerily empty and dimly lit, and the decor had been replaced with flags with strange symbols on them. Where was everyone? What was going on in the previously cheery castle?

There was no sign of Anne back on the ground, but as Nix recalled seeing a bright and colorful flash emit from the castle on the day that they were supposed to finally figure out the box, she assumed that she had been sent home. But she had seen Sasha at Wartwood while passing by searching for Marshall, who she never found any trace of. Why was just Anne sent home?

She traveled deeper into the castle, unnerved by the vast, empty halls and unsettling decor. She couldn't shake this feeling that she was being watched as she walked. But Nix froze in her tracks when she heard it.

A spine-chilling shriek rang out through the castle walls. She recognized it immediately.

After figuring out which direction it came from, Nix bolted through the halls, running as fast as she could, nearly falling down the basement stairs as she made her way towards Marshall. When she finally arrived, she froze once more, in horror, watching who she identified as her little brother, laying limply in a throne, cords plugged into his limbs, back, and head. She didn't even process what Andrias told the newts that stood before him as he stepped aside.

Marshall jolted upright, his bones cracking with every movement as he seemed to get comfortable in the throne. A multitude of glowing, orange eyes opened upon the helmet that encased most of his head. A sinister grin spread across his lips, and he turned to look directly at Nix.

" Why, hello there. "

Andrias whipped around, unaware that anyone else had entered the room. He recognized the human, knowing that she was another close friend of Marshy's. A look of oh shit crossed his face, knowing how fiercely protective she was of him. He was about to say something before he heard the wires pop out of their sockets on Marshall's armour, the possessed teen standing up and slowly walking towards Nix, his heels clicking against the hard floor.

" Hm. She's fond of you. And I assume you return these warm feelings. Are you going to be an obstacle, or can I trust you to stand by my side quietly? " it asked her, clearly making a threat to take her out if she dared try to stop them.

Andrias simply watched, a mix of grief and fear in his eyes.
