⢠would probably ask you to do the ahegao face during sexâŚ
On the Edge (2001) | John Carney - Jonathan Breech
⢠as much as he would hate to admit it.. hopeless romantic. Super devoted but would have an annoying tendency to flirt with other girls to see if youâd get jealous.

⢠has a porn addiction, but would hide it from you
⢠would pick up edging and would talk about your sex life very openly with âthe boysâ
⢠loves sending nudes and nut vids if he had the chance
Intermission (2003) | John Crowley - John
⢠he has no qualms about saying it: youâre a whore đ
⢠probably feels the need to be in charge and take control but really.. youâd be the one calling the shots mostly
⢠definitely the type to make stupid jokes during sex
⢠whiny, would definitely triple text if you didnât respond fast enough
⢠still a cutie ofc
⢠jealousy is his middle name
Girl with the Pearl Earring (2003) | Peter Webber - Pieter
⢠breeding kink but not in the fun way. Breeding kink in the way where he would wanna fuck like rabbits and procreate like rabbits.
⢠would want you to have like 6 of his kids is what Iâm saying
⢠acts like heâs touch starved half the time, really handsy, likes to tease and leave kisses all over you
⢠knows how to handle his meat
At Deaths Door (1999) | Conor Morrissey - Young Reaper
⢠this one is just for shits and giggles
⢠itâs giving virgin, inexperienced but passionate
⢠shy asf, again youâd probably have to make the first move

Release Me-Fix me
Pairing: Pigx fem!reader
Summary: He finally finds you, so does the past that he brings. Can you guys ever be happy?
Warnings: Smut with a plot, SLOW BURN ( mostly because this is my first time writing a fanfic. I'll do my best, but its def going to be long.)
*Also Runt's your bestie, but she won't be introduced until a little later. *
Green, blue, and red strobes beam across me in a rhythmic pattern to the music. A mixture of sweat, cologne, and heat fills the air.
"Days go by and still I think of you"
My body syncopates to the music, the vodka shots running through my veins and the thoughts I don't dare to say out loud keep me entranced.
"Days when I could live my life without you."
The beat pulsates through my skin, it's the closest thing I'll ever come to heaven. It's the closest thing I'll come to you. I can feel eyes on me, they want me. They want to fuck me. Every inch of my body glides to the note, and they are watching. I'm looking for something to take my mind off of you. Someone even, to fill me up so I don't ever dare want what's forbidden.
"Still a whisper on my lips"
A burning sensation suddenly runs through my body. I feel nauseous because it feels so familiar. Have I not drowned you out enough? I close my eyes tighter, try to dance it off, but the feeling grows stronger. Somewhere innate tells me it's you, and all at once I am flooded. Anger, fear-"God, just no." but it's too late, I've been ripped from the trance. Lust, longing, and worst of all, Love. My eyes can't help but to snap open. ' Love? How could I?' but the strength, it's too much to bare, and I can't stop myself from scanning the room. I can feel it, you're here.
"Pig?" Only a whisper, but nevertheless you hear me. I know you do, your intense blue eyes fixated on me. I am encapsulated, and though I should be scared, all I feel is calm. Just like that sickening night, I am scared of you-I am scared of me because of you.
"Hello, sweet thing." It's only a whisper, but it cuts through the noise and washes over me. I think I might drown, just like that night.
I can see it in your eyes, you want to consume and devour me. You want to make me yours.

Disco Pigs
I wish I'd been of an age to have seen this on stage, alas I never did. I have a digital and physical copy of the scriptbook, though, and I adore it. As well as the film. My absolute favourite thing about reading anything from Ireland that has been written by Irish writers is that they retain, or attempt to retain, accents in the dialogue. Obviously the Cork accent written in Disco Pigs is heavily exaggerated and even overacted, but it is still brilliant. There is nothing more enjoyable to me when reading anything by an Irish writer, than finding that they "write with an Irish accent". Roddy Doyle's books also offer this, and I absolutely love it. (Scottish writer Irvine Welsh also does this!)
Personally, I think it is one of Cillian Murphy's best roles. I'd almost like a revisit of it now he is a more 'seasoned' actor, but obviously that's not going to fit the canon age-wise! One of my favourite ever screen moments of Cillian's comes from Disco Pigs.
- Ask me where she is.
- Where...
- If you go, I can't have you back, Darren.
- Where...where is she, Mam?!
The camera is close to his face and the speedy flicker of emotions on his face - across his eyes - is just phenomenal. You can see everything, and each tiny, nuanced change, and it just gets me every time. It is undoubtedly one of my most favourite things, just this specific scene. He's masterful! Obviously, those scenes were never in the original theatre production, but their addition for the film is one I would praise eternally.
It's definitely a very 'singular' thing, Disco Pigs. Darkly funny, strange, and heartbreaking, too. I've talked to fans of Enda Walsh's who absolutely adore this, and others who found it less enjoyable, and equally there has been a divided review within [the cross-section of] the fandom for Cillian. I think, for some people, you have to be a fan of either the cast or of Enda in order to be starting out with an excitement towards it. Obviously this is not my experience - I fell in love with it instantly, and both the original scriptbook and film have remained firm favourites of mine since I stumbled on them in 2009.
Have you seen/read Disco Pigs? What was your experience?

Everything But You - Part 9
Pairing = Cillian Murphy x OC
Summary = Things are moving forward for Brie and Cillian. Both have some hard decisions to make.Â
Warnings = Language, Grammar, 90s Cillian, Insults,Â
Word Count = 3503
Note = We are nearly done...this took a lot longer than I intended but thank you all for sticking with me. I love you all so much.Â
Tonight, Cillian was going to tell the boys in the band he was leaving. He had decided that after getting the part of âPigâ in the stage show Disco Pigs, he would focus the majority of his spare time rehearsing.
Instead of touring with the band in hopes of achieving a record label.Â
He had been nervous most of the day. Going over exactly what he wanted to say. After forming lasting friendships with some of the boys, his nerves were justified. He was worried their friendship would simply end.Â
The year was flying by incredibly fast, we had our first-year, final exams last month. I was apprehensive about receiving the results. I was terrified I had failed them. After not hearing back from Riverdance, I considered that another rejection and my last. I wouldnât put myself through it again, they simply didnât want me.Â
But If I had failed my exams as well, I wouldnât know what to do with myself. I would be lost. My whole life I had been fighting for both and the thought of receiving nothing, scared me.Â
The only thing I could see going right in my life at this moment was my relationship with Cillian. This was something I never saw coming, he appeared out of the blue, capturing my heart. He was something outside of myself that had my heart beating again.Â
Cillian was completely unbothered about whether or not he passed the final exam. It was clear law wasnât for him. I called it the first day we had a class together, he was more interested in getting my attention than he was listening to the lecturer. Â
The last few weeks he had spent rehearsing his lines and trying to figure out the best way to approach the complex character that was Darren, aka Pig. I had never seen Cillian so engrossed in something before, not even when he was writing songs or performing on stage. This was different, this was his true passion.Â
The first show was in Dublin Theatre in 8 weeks. Cillian had two weeks to get his affairs in order before having to travel from Cork to Dublin for rehearsals. He had six weeks of on stage rehearsals before finally going public for the first.Â
He had the option of staying with the other cast members in a house-share type accommodation but decided not to. He liked coming home every night even for 30 minutes just to see me.Â
âHeâs gonna burn a hole in that floor, tell em to sit down.â Paidi, Cillianâs younger brother commented.Â
Looking towards him he was sprawled out on the small sofa provided for the bandâs set to play at the local bars during the week. Tonight was The Sonâs of Mr Green Genes' last performance, a fact known to the three of us in this room. The other band members had yet to arrive for their sound check.Â
I attended Cillianâs house last weekend for Sunday lunch at his motherâs request. After having dinner with my father, his parents felt it was only fair they got to meet the girl, their son had chosen to yield his wild ways.Â
The lunch went well, meeting his family was much less awkward than it was meeting Andrew's parents. Cillianâs family were welcoming, whereas I always felt judged and not good enough for Andrew's parents.Â
âCill, maybe sit down for a bit. You are gonna exhausted yourself before your due on stage.â I agreed standing in front of him, stopping him in his tracks. âThey are going to be okay. They will either find someone to replace you both, or everyone will go their separate ways.âÂ
âI just, I feel like I am letting them down.âÂ
âI would rather you let down everyone in this room and outside it before letting yourself down Cillian.â I smiled placing my hands on either side of his upper arms and rubbing them.Â
âBeautiful and smart.â Cillian grinned down at me, leaning down to capture my lips in a short, sweet kiss. Only pulling away at the sounds of his brotherâs gag reflex.Â
âCILLIAN YOU'RE NEVER GONNA BELIEVE IT.â Caseyâs voice suddenly took over the room.Â
Stepping away from him I allowed the blonde man to step in, replacing my hands on Cillianâs upper arms. He had one of the biggest smiles I had ever seen. I was used to him constantly scowling, especially when I was around.Â
âAcid Kazz is outside and wants to speak to you, man. They are willing to offer a five-album contract record deal if we hit all the right notes tonight.â Casey continued.Â
My jaw fell open much like Cillianâs, the two of us staring at his friend. I wasnât sure if this was some kind of joke or if life was playing a cruel prank on Cillian. Forcing him to make what I considered an impossible decision.Â
âGo, go talk to them, man. I swear itâs real. We fucking did it. Finally.â Casey beamed, and with a large smile, he started placing open-hand slaps against Cillianâs chest and back, forcing him out the door and towards whoever was on the other side waiting to talk to him.Â
âCongratulations, thatâs great news for the band. You must be dancing on air right now.â I smiled shoving my hands into the front pockets of my jeans. I was unsure of what else to do with them.Â
âYeah, it's amazing. Sucks for you though. Cill will be too busy with the band now to spend any time with you.â Casey shrugged off, turning his back to me and taking his bass out of its case.Â
Glancing over towards Paidi he shook his head at the bassist before rolling his eyes playfully at me. Being the youngest in the band, no one took him seriously. They just considered him Cillianâs younger brother, easily replaceable if need be.Â
âRight...â I trailed off not bothering to respond to the blonde. âGreat news for you too, but what are you going to do about school?â I asked Paidi who sighed with a slight shake of his head.Â
âMa will never let me skip out until I finish so I donât know. Probably have to leave it all behind.âÂ
âIâm sure you will be missed.â I smiled softly. Much like Cillian, Paidi loved music, he came alive on stage. You could see it in the way his fingers moved along the neck of the guitar or the smile he sent to the crowd every so often.Â
âYeah, but we can find someone to replace you man donât worry. I met this guy at the bar the other night, he is pretty good.â Casey replied bluntly.Â
âGee thanks, man.â Paidi scoffed. Bringing one hand up to his other, he rubbed along his bicep, hurt evident behind his eyes.Â
âI am sure Paidi can at least record one album with you. He was a member when the record label found you after all.â I explained, trying my best not to glare at the older of the two boys. âHe will be available after school and most of the summer.âÂ
âNo offence Brianna, but thatâs not how bands work. I donât need a part-time guitarist. Itâs been holding us back. The only reason he is in the band is because of Cillian.âÂ
âExcuse you?â I gasped wide-eyed at the complete audacity this man was showing. I heard of people getting too big for their boots when the prospect of success was in the future but this was ridiculous.Â
âWell he is a good guitar player, not bad on the piano either but he is just a kid. We are going to the big leagues now.âÂ
âYou havenât even got the contract and already you think you're going to go places?â I laughed not quite believing the man standing in front of me. Â
âLike I said you havenât a clue about music. Someone offering you a five-album contract is a pretty big deal. Not like youâll be around long enough to see that.â Casey snapped, moving forward so he was now standing in front of me. âCillian will have plenty of women throwing themselves at his feet. You will be nothing more than a distant memory.âÂ
âNow hang on...â Paidi stood up next to me, immediately jumping to my defence.Â
âI donât see what he sees in you. Average at best.â Casey continued ignoring the younger of the Murphy brothers. âHe should have just left you alone after the first night he slept with you. Sluts like you always land on your feet donât yaâ
âWhat the fuck is your problem?â Paidi growled shoving the blonde back with a hard push of his hand.Â
âIâm just telling it how it is. She fucking spread her legs the first chance she got, once a slut always a slut.âÂ
Pulling Paidi away from the man, I fought against the tears threatening to fall. Shaking my head at him I pushed Paidi towards the corner of the room, quietly asking him not to mention any of this to Cillian until later.Â
âWhy? Casey is way out of line Brie, he is a fucking cunt.â Paidi glared over my shoulder.Â
âHeâs not worth it,â I whispered, wiping the few tears that escaped on the sleeve of my jacket. âLook I want Cillian to have a clear perspective going into tonight. If he wants to pursue music great, if not even better but itâs his decision to make. I donât want anything influencing itâ Â
âHe already decided. He is going to the stage show.âÂ
âRight but that was before the offer of a record deal Paidi. Letâs just see what happens. Letâs just forget everything for now.âÂ
*****
Twirling the small red straw in my drink, my mind was miles away. My friends joined me in the main part of the bar. Over the last few months of attending numerous concerts, they found themselves enjoying the music Cillianâs band performed.
âWe dreaming of Mr Blue Eyes again.â Billy winked nudging into my side, bringing me back into reality. âHe haunts my dreams girl. Those goddamn eyes.â
âThey are hypnotic,â Marion commented with a slight nod. She had known Cillian the least but much like the rest of us, felt entranced by his eyes. âEverything okay with you two? You donât seem yourself?â
âThings with Cillian are great,â I nodded, a small smile pulling at the corner of my lips at the mere mention of his name. âHis bandmate on the other hand, not so much.â
âWhich one? Who upset our girl?â Billy demanded, slamming his glass onto the bar table. The music from the band drowned out the sharp snap of glass. âI swear if you donât tell me, Iâll march up on that stage and interrogate each one of them.â
âItâs Casey, the bass player. Heâs been against me since Cillian and I got together. He said a few things earlier that just have been playing in my head.â
âLike what?â Aoife asked joining the conversation for the first time. She had disappeared into the bathroom as soon as she sat down, sickness has been plaguing her all week. But being afraid to miss anything, she insisted on coming out tonight.
âThe bandâs been offered a record deal. Five albums.â I nodded, my eyes not once lifting from the red straw in my glass. âHe said Cillian will have women falling at his feet and he would forget all about a slut like me.â
âHE WHAT?â Aoife screeched, gaining only the attention of those standing next to us, or at the near tables. âHe actually called you a slut?â
âHis words were, sluts like me always land on their feet,â I repeated the words, plaguing my mind for the last hour.
âIâll fucking kill himâ
âWoah wait, wait. What did ole blue eyes say about this?â Billy interrupted holding his hand high into the air, stopping anyone else from speaking until he had finished.
âHe doesnât know.â
âWhat do you mean he doesnât know?â Aoife barked back, the anger she was feeling evident on her face.
âI didnât want him to know. Not until after the performance.â
âWhy the fuck would that matter? He canât talk about you like that? Cillian better not let him off with thatâ She growled, reaching forward to gulp back a large mouthful of water.
âBecause he has enough on his plate at the minute.â I sighed, leaning on the table with my forearms. âThe record deal isnât the only offer Cillâs got. He has been cast as one of the leads in a stage play called Disco Pigs. Guys, he is amazing, honestly. The emotions he can pull from you...he is just brilliant.â
âSomeoneâs in love.â Billy grinned, placing a gentle hand across my shoulders.
*****Â
Clapping and screaming, cheers of praise with Billy. Cillian looked over in our direction shooting a wink in our direction which Billy claimed was for him and him alone. The band took one finally bow before heading off stage, Cillian gestured for me to meet him backstage but I declined. Confusing him.Â
âYou gonna tell him?â Billy asked, fanning the sweat from his face. Between the amount of bodies in the bar and the unusual heatwave we were experiencing, it felt like we were standing in an oven.Â
âNot tonight, I want it to be his night.âÂ
âWhy are you so good?â Billy grinned, âBlue eyes better realise how god damn lucky he is having you by his side.âÂ
âIâll be sure to bring it up a few times.â I laughed. The two of us weaved our way through the crowd, back towards the table. Aoife was holding her head while Marion rubbed at her back. âEf you okay?âÂ
âYeah, just need to go home Brie. Sorry.â She groaned, shakily standing to her feet with the help of Marion.Â
âIâm just gonna run her home. Iâll be back for you Mr donât be getting into any trouble.â She pointed at Billy with a smirk. âAre you spending the night with Cill?âÂ
âMaybe, Iâll see.â I nodded unsure of what his final decision was going to be. He may have decided to stay with the band, let his acting whim go and if that was the case. I didnât want to be around Casey, especially not tonight.
Saying our goodbyes to the girls. Billy dragged me around the back alley, claiming he was gagging for a smoke. Just as we rounded the corner we came to an immediate stop, raised voices catching our attention instantly.Â
âOh Blue eyes donât look happyâ Billy spoke in a hushed tone. âLooks like someone told him. Who else was in the room with you?âÂ
âPaidi, Cillianâs little brother.â I whispered cautiously stepping forward. Billy gripped onto my arm, almost as if he was hiding behind me, yet pushing me forward at the same time.
âFuck you! Who do you think are talking to my girl like that?â Cillian raged. I had never seen such an anger in a man before as he squared up to his taller friend.Â
âShe wonât always be around for you Cill. Open your fucking eyes.âÂ
âShe supports me much more than you fucking bastards do.âÂ
âHow? By setting you up for failure.âÂ
âNot failure success. Because of her I am actually doing something that has made me feel alive.âÂ
âAnd whatâs that? She gives you a good blow job every once in a while and suddenly your the king of the bloody castle.â Casey boosted. Having enough, Cillianâs arm withdrew before coming forward hitting the taller man straight on the jaw, knocking him back on his feet.Â
âIn case you didnât get the message. Iâm done with the band, so fuck you, fuck the record deal and fuck the band.â Cillian spat, holding his two hands up he flipped off Casey who was now leaning against the bar wall holding his jaw.Â
âAll this for some slut? Are you having a fucking laugh?âÂ
âFucking talk about her like that again and I swear to god I will not be responsible for my actions.âÂ
âThat righ...â Casey provoked.Â
Pulling away from Billy I ran towards Cillian placing my hands firmly against his solid chest. I could feel the anger radiating through him, it felt like he was vibrating beneath my hands.Â
âHe isnât worth it, hey look at meâ I pleaded moving my hands up towards his face, holding him in place. He cast his eyes down to me briefly, his pupils were blown wide with anger. âLook at me, he isnât worth it.âÂ
âHe canât call you...âÂ
âIâve been called worse. Leave it.â I smiled softly, gently pushing him back towards Billy who helped me turn his solid body around and away from what I would assume was a former friend now.Â
âThatâs right, go. Throw you career away. Idiot Murphy. You're a fucking idiot.âÂ
âThrowing away nothing mateâ Cillian smirked throwing himself around to face the blonde once more. âYou record label means jack shit if I donât sign it. Itâs my songs after all. You got fuck all.âÂ
Looking up at Cillian, a smugness was slowly replacing his anger. Glancing over at Casey the realisation of Cillianâs words sunk in. The once cocky blonde, now turned pale white, sickly white.Â
âIs that true?â I asked looking up at Cillian softly.Â
âTake that bitch.â Billy yelled with a large smirk. Shaking my head at him I looked up at Cillian, he just held me close. Wrapping his arm around my shoulders we decided to leave the bar, having enough excitement for the night.Â
*****
A few days after the excitement in the bar I was sitting with Cillian inside his bedroom. He was leaving for his Dublin tomorrow to start the stage rehearsals for his play.Â
âAre you nervous?â I asked playing with the aglet on my lace of my converse shoe.Â
âA littleâ Cillian nodded smiling softly at me. His hand came over cupping the side of my face, his thumb stroking my cheekbone softly. âBut Iâm making the right decision I can feel it.âÂ
âThatâs all that matters then.â I whispered leaning into his touch. âIâm gonna miss you.âÂ
âIâll miss you too.â Cillian smiled sadly before a mischievous look appeared on his face. âYou know the next semester doesnât start until what late September? You could come with me to Dublin.âÂ
âYour not serious Cillian what am I suppose to do in Dublin?â I laughed softly but Cillian stepped away from me, really thinking, almost like he was trying to put together all the jigsaw pieces in his head.
âWhy not? Its only up the road then we can tour together. Itâs only in Dublin for a few weeks then Iâm back in Cork before moving to Edinburgh. Itâll be a summer you wont forget.âÂ
âCillian...â I trailed off shaking my head softly this was an insane idea.Â
âBrie... I love you. I love you alright and I donât want to be apart from you unless I absolutely have to. You gave me the courage to pursue this dream, come live it with me. It will be you and me.âÂ
My mouth dropped as he mentioned those three words. Three words Iâd never expected him to say. Cillian came over to me grabbing my hands in his, holding them up to his chest so I could feel his heart beating wildly in his chest.Â
âI love you Brianna.âÂ
âI love you to Cillianâ I chuckled softly not quite believing what was happening. I wiped the tears away from cheeks, they were happy tears. âI love you so much.âÂ
I took his head into my hands kissing him passionately. I didnât care if his brother Paidi walked through the door or not, I didnât care if his mother walked through the door I was happy.Â
âIâll come on tour with you but Iâm not going home after Edinburgh.â I nodded not knowing how I was going to survive. My savings were okay but not enough to last, I would just have to talk to my dad.
âAre you sure this is what you want?â Cillian asked, fighting off an even bigger smile that threatened to spill onto his face.Â
âYeah, itâs not like I am going to Riverdance anytime soon and I always wanted to take a gap year so why the bloody hell not.â I giggled, placing my hands firmly on his chest, ignoring the ringing phone in my pocket.Â
âAre you really sure?â He asked, eyes squinting down to see if he could detect any sign of lying. Nodding my head, I pulled away from him briefly to check the caller id on my phone. - unknown.Â
âNothing will stop me going on tour with you Mr Murphy.â I grinned placing my phone back into my pocket before throwing my arms around his shoulders. Pressing our foreheads tightly together, we stared into each otherâs eyes. âIâm letting go of Everything but Youâ

Okay! I have a burning question for you, my dude. Music is my life, and I wanna know what kind of music the OPM casts listen to. Thanks, my guy!
I had a feeling this would be inevitable lol. I donât really know a whole lot about music or genres or anything like that so Iâm just gonna give you a rundown of each character individually and some song recs along with that just to smooth things out a little. Thanks for your ask, by the way! â¤ď¸ Now my playlists will be put to good use.
A Brief Rundown of the Major OPM Charactersâ Music Tastes:
Blast: hc that he doesnât even have ears since he never fucking LISTENS
Terrible Tornado: Stuff that makes her feel powerful. Loud vocals and good instrumentals. Also, sheâs a little angsty since sheâs saltier than the gotdamn Pacific almost all of the time. (Recs: Florence and the Machine - How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, Susanne Sundfør - Delirious, Florence and the Machine - What Kind of Man, Kali Uchis - Dead to Me, Letâs Eat Grandma - Falling Into Me)
Fubuki: some of that real classy shit. Slow songs that are nice to just have a cup of tea with. Nothing too meaty or fast-paced, she enjoys taking a moment to breathe every once and a while since life gets pretty hectic when youâre managing a gang of some 30 hooligans. (Recs: Wes - Midnight Low, any song from Lana Del Reyâs entire discography lol, Florence and the Machine - Grace, The MarĂŹas - I Donât Know You, Yellow House - Ainât Gonna Call, Feng Suave - Toking, Dozing)
Silverfang: Stuff from his time. I hc that he was a bit of a party animal back in his prime so heâs gotta have those grooves. Disco to the extremo. Also, another hc: Garou absolutely hates his music. He would play it during training and Garou would contemplate homicide. (Recs: Frankie Valli - Grease, The Edgar Winter Group - Free Ride, KC and the Sunshine Band - Iâm Your Boogie Man, Matthew Wilder - Break My Stride, The Main Ingredient - Everybody Plays the Fool, Andrea True Connection - More, More, More)
Bomb: save as Silverfang, although I hc that Bomb was a little more of a nerd growing up. Still, he never missed out on a good party. (Additional Recs: KC and the Sunshine Band - Get Down Tonight, The Trammps - Disco Inferno, Tierra - Together, Cornelius Bros and Sister Rose - Too Late to Turn Back Now)
Atomic Samurai: Old shit. Shit older than Silverfang. Heâs really not that old, but his soul is fucking ancient and heâs got that classic âgrrr music these days sucksâ kind of shithead attitude. (Recs: Jim Croce - Time in a Bottle, Dion - Runaround Sue, The Carpenters - The End of the World, The Band - The Weight)
Child Emperor: Upbeat synth. Stuff to listen to while heâs working on his machines and whatnot. Probably has meaty beats to keep him in tune with what heâs doing, like working around a clock. Probably some groovy citypop in there too. (Recs: Taeko Ohnuki - 4:00 AM, Junko Ohashi - Telephone Number, Tatsuro Yamashita - Magic Ways, Hiroyuki Sawano - NEXUS, Superfly - Kakusei, Mariya Takeuchi - Plastic Love)
Metal Knight: Intrumentals that Disney villains listen to. Deep, dark shit that makes you feel sad. He probably feeds off of negative emotion. What a toolbag. (Recs: Lucas King - Sociopath, Abel Korzeniowski- Table for Two, Max Richter - Never Goodbye, Max Richter - She Remembers, Evelyn Stein - Quiet Resource, Mac Quayle - Adagio in G Minor)
King: video game soundtracks, obviously. Might be some electro funk in there too, as a treat. (Recs: Metal Gear Solid 3 OST - Snake Eater, Mick Gordon - Rip and Tear, Xenoblade Chronicles OST - Main Theme, Persona 5 OST - Last Surprise, Daft Punk - Verdis Quo, Toby Fox - Hopes and Dreams, Disasterpeace - Prologue, iamthekidyouknowwhatimean - Run, Darren Korb - Old Friends)
Zombieman: Dad Music. Old rock that makes you wanna rail some lines of white thunder and dance on top of a car. Heâd be reluctant to try out new stuff but does so nevertheless. Just a little bit of weird alternative here and there. (Recs: Poison - Unskinny Bop, MĂśtley CrĂźe - Dr. Feelgood, Black Sabbath - War Pigs, Def Leppard - Animal, CRX - Walls, MGMT - Little Dark Age, Pink Floyd - Money, Queens of the Stone Age - Villains of Circumstance)
Drive Knight: Dark synth, obviously. Need I say more? (Recs: El Tigr3 - She Swallowed Burning Coals, Trevor Something - Enjoy the Silence, Greg Drombrowski - Devour, GUNSHIP - Woken Furies, GUNSHIP - Thrasher, Carpenter Brut - Invasion A.D., Kavinsky - Nightcall)
Pig God: this guy probably just listens to ASMR of people eating food lol.
Superalloy Darkshine: Upbeat stuff thatâs good for exercise; loving those new jams along with some of the old. Heâs got a pretty groovy style. (Diane Ross - Ainât No Mountain High Enough, Saint Motel - Puzzle Pieces, CRUISR - All Over, Barry White - Never, Never Gonna Give Ya Up, Sade - Kiss of Life)
Watchdog Man: 10 hour loop of wolves howling on a summer night.
Flashy Flash: classical. Some nice instrumentals to listen to while training. Stuff that preferably doesnât have any or very little lyrics so itâs not too busy on his ears while heâs fantasizing about killing someone. (Recs: Vaughn Williams - The Lark Ascending, Debussy - RĂŞverie, Grieg - Peace of the Woods, AndrĂŠ Laplante - Une Barque sur LâOcean)
Metal Bat: Modern alternative. A little bit harder than say, Mumen and Kama, but not as hard as Zombieman or Death Gatling. Heâs that middle ground where heâs still got some real bangers, but Zenko can listen as well. Heâll play this stuff loudly as heâs doing chores and working out, no headphones ever. It gets pretty annoying. (Recs: Foals - Exits, The Blue Stones - Black Holes, Solid Ground, CRX - Broken Bones, Jungle - Happy Man, The Strokes - Reptilia, We Are Trees - Girlfriend)
Genos: synth. But not just any synth, some heavy, fast-paced synth thatâs just like him: speedy, relentless, and powerful. He listens to shit thatâll make you wanna get up and start killing Terminators. Probably. Thereâs some other synths in the mix too because we love a three-dimensional king. (Recs: Carpenter Brut - Division Ruine, The Protomen - I Still Believe, Carpenter Brut - Leather Teeth, Gunship - Tech Noir, TWRP - Phantom Racer, Le Castle Vania - Red Circle)
Tanktop Master: Dad music but the type of dad music that makes you think your dad was a sappy nerd back in the day. Long tracks that are good for workouts. (Tears for Fears - Woman in Chains, Pink Floyd - Us and Them, Duran Duran - Ordinary World, Billy Idol - Eyes without a Face, A Flock of Seagulls - I Ran, The Alan Parsons Project - Eye in the Sky, Tears for Fears - Sowing the Seeds of Love)
Puri-Puri Prisoner: Pop. Dance music. He doesnât really get to listen to a lot of music in prison, so he holds on to whatever he can and savors every second of it. (Coldplay - Talk, Bruno Mars - Runaway Baby, Lady Gaga - Bad Romance, Flo Milli - Beef Flomix, Doja Cat - Say So)
Mumen Rider: Hes a lighthearted, soft boy. Likes some fluffy indie tunes. It helps to motivate him when working out or doing hero stuff. He might need to cry every once in a while though, so thereâs some sad songs in the mix too. (Recs: Varsity - The Dogs Only Listen to Him, The The - This is the Day, Amarante - Donât Look Back, Alvvays - Saved by a Waif, The Monkees - As We Go Along, Acid Ghost - Hide my Face, Mogwai - Take Me Somewhere Nice)
Sonic: same as Flash. Heâs a little more hip with the times however, so heâs got some more groovy, electronic instrumentals to listen to in addition to some elegant stuff and isnât opposed to having a little bit of lyrics sprinkled in there as well. In fact, heâs not opposed to uppity pop either. He thinks dancing is frivolous but he secretly does it when he thinks nobody is looking. (Additional Recs: Odesza - Bloom, Pretty Lights - One Day Theyâll Know [Odesza Remix], BĂRNS - Electric Love, Hembree - Culture, The Cinematic Orchestra - Arrival of the Birds)
Garou: same as Metal Bat. Bang let him have a little MP3 player during his time at the dojo and has since collected a few songs on there. Theyâre very near and dear to his heart since itâs one of the few good things that came from his absolute disaster of a childhood. (Additional Recs: Foals - Inhaler, CRX - Slow Down, Deep Sea Arcade - Close to Me, Gorillaz - Empire Ants, The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger, Glass Animals - Take A Slice)
Death Gatling: Shit your old Vietnam-vet grandpa would blast on the back of his F150. He gives me self-righteous asshole vibes, if Iâm honest. Like, donât get me wrong, I like Death Gatling, but he seems like the type of trailer park-dwelling sewer rat to carry a revolver into a Walmart for âself defenseâ and thatâs probably the type of music he listens to, too. (Recs: Megadeth - Trust, Megadeth - Angry Again, Creedence Clearwater Revival - Fortunate Son, Glen Campbell - Southern Nights, MĂśtley CrĂźe - Kickstart My Heart, Quiet Riot - Cum on Feel the Noize)
One-Shotter: I hard hc that he had an emo phase he never quite grew out of. He doesnât quite listen to emo anymore but heâs still into that alternative shit. Homeboy also likes some slow tunes every once and a while because heâs an emotional dude whoâs not afraid of a good cry. (Recs: Anything from Blink-182, Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know?, MGMT - When You Die, Mazzy Star - Fade Into You, Cigarettes After Sex - Dreaming of You, Yon Ort - Other Matter)
Lightning Max: Same as Genos but without the terminator-killing. Fast-paced stuff because heâs a fast lightning dude. A little more upbeat because heâs not as much as an edgelord as Genos, however. (Additional Recs: Carpenter Brut - Hangâem All, The Flaming Lips - Do You Realize, Worn Tin - Sensitivity, B.E.R. - The Night Begins to Shine, Martin Hall - Different Kind of Love)
Stinger: heâs all about that FUNK! Stuff that gets him moving! Stuff that makes him wanna dance! (Recs: Daft Punk - Doinâ it Right, TWRP - Body Image, Wild Cherry - Play that Funky Music, Chemise - She Canât Love You, Saga - Wind Him Up, Saga - On the Loose, TWRP - All Night Forever)
Okamaitachi: they give me electro vibes! New, modern shit thatâs good to dance to or to just sit down and have a listen! Also, some shit thatâll probably play in a coming-of-age teen movie or something. They donât really vibe with heavy music and thatâs alright, babey! Keeping it light and bouncy. (Recs: Tei Shi - Bassically, Varsity - Must Be Nice, Class Actress - Weekend, CHVRCHES - Richard Pryor, Alvvays - Marry Me, Archie, Sobs - Telltale Signs, Goth Babe - Sometimes, ALASKALASKA - Meateater)
Iaian: Nice, low tunes that are good for meditation and to be used for background noise during training sessions. He never really sits down to listen to music, itâs always in the background of something else heâs doing so he prefers to have some soft beats that donât really interfere with his senses. Tunes so quiet, he sometimes uses them as lullabies; especially since the trauma of losing his arm has since made it hard to sleep. (Recs: Boy Scouts - Saddest Boy, Susanne Sundfør - Mantra, Vashiti Bunyan - If I Were the Same but Different, Starman Jr. - Blue Fairy, Patrick Watson - Je te Laisserai des Mots, Sibylle Baier - I Lost Something in the Hills)
Bushidrill: same as Atomic Samurai just without the shitty attitude. Heâs happy to listen to some newer stuff, he just doesnât like it and thatâs okay, baby! Probably some classy shit your wise old grandpa would listen to. (Recs: Dean Martin - Volare, Dion - The Wanderer, Peppino Gagliardi - Che Vuole Questra Musica Stasera, anything from Luis Miguel lol, Franco Micalizzi - Sadness Theme)
Amai Mask: probably just listens to his own music like a putz. If not, heâs listening to the sound equivalent of glittering diamonds. Heâs probably got this shit playing at the end of a long day while heâs chilling in a hot bath or something. (Recs: Fergie - Glamorous, Rita Ora - Hot Right Now, Lana Del Rey - Freak, Lana Del Rey - Art Deco, Tame Impala - Feels Like We Only Go Backwards)
Saitama: He doesnât listen to music much anymore, sadly. He did, however, have a killer motivational mix to get him through his vigorous training prior to becoming a hero. (Recs: Paul Engemann - Push it to the Limit, Journey - Donât Stop Believinâ, College & Electric Youth - A Real Hero, Joe Esposito - Youâre the Best Around, Survivor - Eye of the Tiger, The Bee Gees - Nights on Broadway)
Hereâs the playlist with all of these songs in order (mostly):
Itâs on YouTube because Iâm allergic to Spotify. Iâve got a doctorâs note. Also, all of my other playlists are on my little profile thingy so if you want to listen to my pile then go right ahead.
Thanks for your ask, my dude! â¤ď¸ this took up ALL of my energy lol but it was fun.

Acting Up
For rising star Cillian Murphy, all of Hollywood's a stage. 28 Days Later... secured his fame and the new Batman will surely cement it, but celebrity is still the one role he won't play.
This has been a significant day for Cillian Murphy, but not in the career-making way you might expect. There are days that have probably been more important: the one, for instance, several years ago when Murphy was standing in line for a Ryanair flight from London to Dublin only to learn he had scored the lead in 28 Days Later..., the artsy zombie movie that went on to become a sleeper hit. Or the night last August in Edinburgh, when he was summoned to Los Angeles to audition for the new Batman just as he was playing his final performance in a three-and-a half-hour stage production of Chekhov's The Seagull.
But this February dayâan unusually sunny one for Dublin, the Irish capital that tends to be animated and lively in inverse proportion to its capacity for blue skyâhas marked a first for the slight, slim Murphy, who will turn 28 in May. On his way to the Malaysian restaurant on the south side of the city where we're meeting for lunch, a photographer snapped him "just walking the street." The actor's reaction? "I was like, Noooooo!" says Murphy, prolonging the word in mock agony, though his grievance is clearly real. "It's a horrible thing," he explains of the sort of invasion that, in truth, is likely to become more frequent. "For me, as much as I adore acting, when I'm not doing it, I don't even think about it. I don't live and breathe it." Nor, he makes clear, are the press entitled to live and breathe him.
On the other hand, Ireland, in particular, has always loved a homegrown star, and the country clearly has one in Murphy, who has been a near-constant presence on film and (in the U.K. and Ireland, at least) on the stage, of late. The lazy thinking on the subject has been to lump him with Colin Farrell, Murphy's co-star in the recent movie Intermission, an ensemble effort from theatre director John Crowley in which Murphy plays John, the romantic misfit. (The two actors are friends, even if, concedes Murphy, "I don't see Colin as much as I would like.") But with his pale blue eyes and almost diaphanous skin, Murphy couldn't look less like Farrell, and he cuts a totally different performing figure. While Farrell looks to be cornering the market in roguesâa blokeishness that spills over into reports of his off-screen escapadesâMurphy possesses a full-lipped intensity that finds him perfectly at home in a period piece like Girl With a Pearl Earring (in which he plays Pieter the butcher, romancing Scarlett Johansson's bejewelled Griet).
And yet, Murphy can dim the doe-eyed sensitivity. This is an actor, after all, who launched his career in 1997 in the play Disco Pigs and its subsequent film version. In both, he played Darren, a.k.a. "Pig", a teenage psycho from Murphy's home city of Cork who thrives on antisocial behaviour and gets off on starting brawls. The character is as willfully self-destructive as the lovesick, suicidal KonstantinâMurphy's Edinburgh Festival role in The Seagullâis woefully so. Small wonder that, as Murphy notes wryly, he's "always kind of playing 'damaged.'"
For proof, one need look no further than the theatre role that's keeping him occupied well into April. As Christy Mahon, the braggart of the title in J.M. Synge's 1907 play The Playboy of the Western World, Murphy fully captures the roof-raising brio of the County Mayo tearaway who ends up transfixing an entire town with a story of patricide that, of course, turns out to be false. But Murphy goes where many stage Mahons don't, capturing the loneliness and loss that exist beneath Christy's preening. "Synge described it as a comedy, but it's patently not; it switches from tragedy to farce to pathos and just goes like that within a line."
We're speaking over a vegetarian lunch with many hours to go before this evening's opening night performance, and Murphy talks of needing to "save [his] voice"âand then rather endearingly doesn't, warming animatedly to one theme after another in the course of several hours' chat. "I didn't train, ever, and I'm constantly trying to educate myself in theater, and I feel you learn as an actor hugely on stage. You're seeing through the arc of a character right from the beginning, and that can only help you as an actor, rather than acting in moments, as you do on film." Not that Murphy craves help so much as he does that feelingâcrucial to any actorâof moving forward: "My objective is to improve, and this is the best way to do it. I consider myself an actor, not a film actor or a theatre actor, just an actor, and whatever medium offers the best challenge at any given time is what I take."
Another way to better your art is to diversify your pool of collaborators, as Murphy has surely done. Last year, he spent a week in Romania hanging with Jude Law and Natalie Portman on the set of Cold Mountain. Murphy's role as a Union soldier was small, but the movie's impact on him was not. "We were freezin', man, but just to be involved in something like thatâevery director should have Anthony Minghella's ability to instill calmness, which, I'm sure, percolates down to the xing catering. Here was this gi-normous production, and Anthony was like a little Buddha." As for Girl With a Pearl Earring: "People aren't going to go, 'Hmmm, tell us the history of Pieter the butcher.' He's there; he's a device, and I did it as best I could, despite my unfortunate wig."
If nothing else, the film gave Murphy a first-hand glimpse of the kind of stardom that can beset the really youngâleading lady Johansson turned 18 while the movie was being filmed. "Scarlett is a cool girl, and I wish her everything, but I hope she hangs on to that essence of what she has. If that x had happened to me when I was 18 or 19, I would have turned into a xhead," says Murphy. "I would be an x now." That he isn't honours what he refers to as "a very solid upbringing" as the oldest of four children, and to his relationship of seven years with an Irish artist, Yvonne, who graduated last year from London's Royal College of Art. (The two live in the Queens Park area of northwest London.)
An inbuilt sense of proportion no doubt helps too. "I abhor the idea of a personality or a celebrity; I know everyone says that, but it deeply offends me." To that end, he doesn't have a personal publicistânot yet, anywayâand says that three agents (one each in Dublin, London, and Los Angeles) more than suffice. "I've got a lot of people in my life: I don't need any more, and I don't do a huge amount of publicity, really." (Among other things, he has vetoed all live TV appearances and chat shows.) Murphy grimaces as he recalls showing up at a recent shoot for another magazine; it was a joint shoot with two other young actors, and he was the only one without various hangers-on in tow. "They couldn't get over the fact that I was on my own, and I couldn't get over the fact that these guys had an entourage. It seems to me that's the periphery of actingâthat's the least important part. That should be the bit you invest with the least amount of energy so that when you have to do the work, you bring the most amount of energy to that. The most important part is work." Murphy speaks admiringly of actors like Billy Crudup, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Johnny Depp as welcome escapees from the PR machine. "They don't need to do it, so I don't xing need to do it, you know what I mean? And nobody's grooming me or pushing me to do something I don't want to do."
Fair enough, but what happens come to the start of shooting at London's Pinewood Studios in May on Batman: Intimidation in which Murphy plays The Scarecrow to Christian Bale's title role? The fifth movie in an extraordinary franchise will surely obliterate any remaining anonymity. "I think I'll be all right, you know?" As reflective as he is opinionated, Murphy muses on the vagaries of a career that he knows has only just begun. "It's obviously surreal, but that's the beauty of the thing. I love the fact that the job we do can be so random, you known, though ultimately it's all the same. Ultimately it's about being true to the script. Ultimately it's about giving a good performance." With that, Cillian Murphy excuses himself, appearing a few hours later on a small stage in Dublin to try out his latest role.

Release me-Fix me, Chapter 2
Summary: Seeing him brings back memories she canât ignore. She tries to avoid him, but she canât escape.
Note: I did it, guys! Finally, it was tough to start but as I kept going it wasn't so bad. Yay! Also sorry about Sunday I procrastinated a bit, but other than that hope you enjoy!
This is insane. Has it been four years already? âShouldâve been longer, honestly.â My brain remarks, but my heart leaps out of my chest as if wanting him to catch it. Itâs ridiculous, this long arduous war between the two. Eventually one will have to win, but neither can surrender.
âHow did he even find me?â
In a basement club with just one exit, nonetheless. Itâs terrifying. He terrifies me and that one exit is right behind him.
Will he just let me go?â
Please, Just let me go.
A wave of dread and nausea washes over me, and no matter how fast I walk, how quickly I dart around people, I still move in slow motion.
âDammnn sexy-wherâ you goinâ ay? lemme-â
âNo thanks.â I say pushing past him, accidentally touching his sweat drenched shirt. Gross! Today is just not my day, and being so fucking close to the exit and seeing those fervent blue eyes staring down at me solidifies it.
un-ignorable and inescapable.
Frozen in place, just left to stare into him. Itâs feels like a fever dream or nightmare. His hair is shorter now, buzzed, but other than that he looks just the same. No? Something is different about him. I canât help but get lost in blue and only the sweaty grip of that gross man breaks me out of my trance. All I can do is rip my wrist away and rush up the stairs towards Pig. If I am quick enough I can push past him, if I am lucky enough he will just step aside.
I am lucky, just not lucky enough for this to be over. The heat as I pass him is so subtle but is just as excruciating. There my heart goes skipping a beat but still I donât dare catch a glimpse of him.
Pig:
âTouch me.â
After all these years, that was all he could think about. The feeling of her skin against his. The thought blanched his cheeks in red. He so desperately wanted her, and yet he could only watch as her figure faded past the exit.
He couldnât stand the distance between them but at this moment what could he say. There was so much and yet it wasnât the time. So instead, he was going to savor every inch of her in that very moment. Commit her to his memory. He could see her so vividly when he closed his eyes. The way her head lulled back as she caressed herself to the music. The twinkle twinkle of her skirt as she swayed her hips. The way her skin pricked as soon as she noticed his presence.
It wasnât an accident, him being here.
He closes his eyes tighter, focusing on how quick her breathing became when she saw him, how it hitched in her throat as her eyes met his. The sound of her heart beating in his ears.
No. He was lead by something so innate between them. An unexplainable connection.
âPig go anywhere for you, ya? Only a matter of time âtil pig is yours and youâs mine.â The heat intensifies, overwhelming him, and as he opens his eyes they land on you. The memory of you actually.
Sweet 16-year-old you. Itâd been four years, but he still remembers grabbing a pair of hands and (aggressively) dragging someone to the dance floor.
âHey-What are you doing? Excussseeee meee. Helloo-â
He wasnât really paying attention to you or your attempts to break free. He just needed to grab his best palâs attention-too hot and bothered to get near her like he use to. It wouldâve been just fine too, but you had gripped his hands back, shooting a feeling he had never felt before up through his shoulders and straight to his head.
âMk-fine! We can dance. I mean if youâre not gonna let me go then yea letâs dance.â
Suddenly, he did want to let you go, but you were blissfully unaware, too busy getting down to notice. If he wanted a dance he was going to get one. The feeling became more staggering as you swung his hands to the beat. âWhat the fuck was going on?â At this point, he couldnât take whatever this was. He just wanted to scream âfuck off soâ, push you away, grab Runt and run- but as he was about to he saw you. Those big eyes looking back at him all confused and cute like. Awkwardly smiling cause you had no idea what the hell was going on either.
Actually, the more he looked at you the more you look like you came from some far off place. The large gold hoops, shimmery eyeshadow, and glossed up lips? No. You didnât belong here.
âUmm excuse me-â
Taking a step back, he needed to fully process what you were wearing. It was summer, August in fact, and you were wearing fur?
âGoddamn mami, whaddâya wearing fucking fur for, ya? All hot outside and you got fucking fur onâ
He looked up to see you tilting your head in even more confusion than before. The smile becoming more concern.
âWill you please let me go?â
The feeling always there but stronger than ever, caught him off guard. He should let go, but all he could do was stare.
âPig, Whaddâya doinâ pal?â

365 Day Movie Challenge (2017) - #344: Perrierâs Bounty (2009) - dir. Ian Fitzgibbon
I was surprised and delighted by Perrierâs Bounty, a fast-paced crime comedy about a couple of days in the life of Michael McCrea (Cillian Murphy), a Dubliner who owes some serious gambling debts. We follow Michael on a weird and amusing journey to obtaining cash, including helping some associates on a breaking-and-entering job, stealing a cop car and getting into a few gunfights. Michael is accompanied on by his long-estranged father, Jim (Jim Broadbent), who claims that he is dying, and Michaelâs neighbor Brenda (Jodie Whittaker), with whom Michael is clearly in love. Refreshingly, Brenda is lovely without being a typical Manic Pixie Dream Girl. The trio continually get into messy scrapes that push Michael further to the edge of being caught by the various collectors.
Brendan Gleeson brings his customary mix of toughness and humor to the role of Darren Perrier, the kingpin who puts a price on Michaelâs head after our protagonist - or rather, I should say, Brenda - causes the death of one of Perrierâs beloved henchmen. Along the way we also see supporting turns from Brendanâs son, Domhnall Gleeson, as a pool-playing drug dealer whose dress sense is stuck in the early 1970s, Liam Cunningham and Michael McElhatton as two of Perrierâs minions, and Brendan Coyle and Conleth Hill as a local pair of dog-breeders. Perrierâs Bounty throws a few welcome twists our way as the narrative winds to its offbeat conclusion, resulting in a film that is clearly underrated, given the mixed reviews from critics. Iâm not saying that Cillian Murphyâs performance here is the best heâs ever given - as unfair as this comparison will seem, Disco Pigs is obviously a superior Irish film - but Perrierâs Bounty certainly deserves a look.

âDa two liddle baby beebas a Pork Sity.â
Evanna Lynch as SinĂŠad /âRuntâ and Colin Campbell as Darren/âPigâ in the 20th anniversary revival of Disco Pigs at Trafalgar Studios West End theatre in Whitehall, London, performed from 18 July - 19 August 2017 (x)
DISCO PIGS REVIEWS
London Theatre * * * âColin Campbell and Evanna Lynch have a fizzing chemistry as the friends. As that dwindles to an ember, Pig's remorse is plain to see. [...] His aggression is palpable. Lych [...] as the wide-eyed Runt, shows you what maturity looks like over the course of 75 minutes. [...]Â The production is, however, quite choppy. One moment Pig and Runt are giggling teenagers, the next they're losing each other. It takes too long to learn about them each as individuals, and discover what's going on inside their heads.â (x)
Radio Times * * * * âThe production is blessed with two cracking performances. Evanna Lynch is a firecracker of intense energy, but slips easily into nuanced wistfulness as she begins to express aspirations beyond their closed relationship. Campbell is a coiled spring as Pig; the threat of underlying violence keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout.â (x)
The Stage * * * âEvanna Lynch and Colin Campbell donât quite manage it â the production takes a good 15 minutes to find its feet but they make an endearing and energetic pair: heâs enjoyably elastic, she conveys graceful saucer-eyed moments of stillness. They demonstrate good comic precision, too, in their portrayal of the array of characters they meet on their shared birthday night out in Cork. The actors are slightly hampered by John Haidarâs production which is both over-literal, opting for a style of storytelling in which almost everything is broadly mimed, and too genteel to capture the euphoric surge of such a heady relationship â and the encroaching rush of hormones that threatens to bring it to an end.â (x)
British Theatre * * * * âHere we have two wonderful performances. Colin Campbell is extraordinary as Pig, testosterone seeping across the stage into the auditorium, his muscular physicality and presence sometimes threatening to overshadow Evanna Lynchâs Runt, but this is the script. When Walsh gives her the space, she shines, beautifully poignant as she yearns to escape the world and rituals they have created and trapped themselves in. The physicality of both are superb, huge congratulations to Movement Director Naomi Said, the pair are in perfect symmetry and serve the text brilliantly.â (x)
City A.M. * * * * âDressed in day-glo Adidas sportswear, Pig and Runt quite literally bounce off each other, fuelled by copious amounts of cheap beer and scampi fries. But the setting is a nostalgic trap, inviting us to laugh at our younger, stupider selves. Suddenly, at the end of a prolonged rave, Pig turns on the audience, reprimanding us for laughing at his youthful exuberance.â (x)
Evening Standard * * * âItâs pleasing, then, to be able to spend 70 minutes here feeling admiration for two strong performances in a fiercely realised otherworld. [...] Campbell and Lynch turn in kinetic, often synchronised performances that never allow the energy levels to dip. Lynch, in particular, conjures a fascinating, otherworldly air; it would be a pleasure to hear more from her.â (x)
The Upcoming * * * * âFor a while Lynch struggles to keep up with her co-star. Itâs hard to tell whether her sometimes subdued performance is related to [her] character â after all Runt is getting sick of their antics â or an inability to rise to the mania the script requires. She does shine, however, in the quieter, sadder moments; itâs just a shame Walsh is so stingy with scenes showing Runtâs burgeoning doubt.â (x)
SnitchSeeker âBoth Colin Campbell and Evanna Lynch take to their roles as Pig and Runt, wonderfully, giving us an energetic and charged performance that manages to grab your attention and pull you in both comically and dramatically. [...] This is a departure from Evanna Lynchâs previous work, (Harry Potter's Luna Lovegood swearing, oh my!) but this is a path I very much hope she continues down, sheâs certainly got the acting chops to take on more serious and dramatic acting roles as she has proved playing Runt, and she has the energy to sustain physical action whilst keeping you fully engaged in the character.â (x)
