When Darlene goes into the bathroom when her and Elliot go to the hacker club in season 3, there are eyes on either side of the mirror that she looks in to.

Someone’s Always Watching.

Also the fact that the club has a lot of other nods to George Orwell’s 1984 (most obviously the year 1984 written on the wall that Elliot and Darlene walk past)

Interesting, especially since the Dark Army end up being there watching them too, and the FBI is also watching them.

Maybe they didn’t mean for this and its a coincidence but given everything else about the show I really don’t think it was accidental!
