I got inspired by an album called Indigo, produced by a beautiful human being. He is a rapper, singer and songwriter - Namjoon Kim... So this is a wildflower, which I happen to take with my film camera during mid summer before my long covid phase. Immediately soon after I suffered from COVID for four long months. Then, I experimented a lot with this one photo of wildflower. It is all in my gallery here anyway. During the month of November, when all the concept film of Indigo came out I was inspired to use Vandyes... But as clumsy as I am, I made a mess of everything... So you will see what I made, and what an ideal vandye print was supposed to look like (check the 3rd image). Later to make it fine, I digitally took a picture of the vandye and corrected all the mistakes in photoshop... I don't think I am allowed to use the garage anymore, but what's the harm in trying😅 🥲 I wanted to post this sooner, but I was waiting for the album to reach to me.. #handprinting #vandyes #darkroompractice #traditionalphotography #phtography #photographylovers #nikonfm10 #photographyeveryday #photogram #experimemtal #intercollective #spicollective #indigo #experimentalart #artinspiration #artexploration #experimentalphotography (at Sahyadri Mountain Range) https://www.instagram.com/p/CofE6uzIbzy/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Contact sheet
This is my contact sheet that i have produced in the darkroom to see how clear my images have come out and to pick an image for my final print. Before making a full contact sheet you have to do a test strip like you have to do before you produce a full print, to see what exposure the you need to be set after doing your test strip you will see what you need to expose your final contact sheet on. This contact sheet was exposed at 20 seconds.

Processing and Developing Leysdown Images
Different Steps:
Firstly we got all of the equipment that we needed to put the film into the developing tank, this was: a developing tank, spool, scissors film canister opener, centre column and light tight lid. We decided to use the darkroom for putting our film into the developing tank, if there was not the choice of a darkroom we would have had to use a dark bag.
Once our 35mm film was in the developing tanks we continued to get the correct amount of developer, stop bath and fixer. We used D76 developer mixed at a ratio of 1:1 (for 1 roll of film in a small tank use 300ml overall, 2 rolls need 600ml overall) we put 150ml of the developer into a measuring tube and then filled it up to the 300ml line with water. Another important thing was the temperature which we made 20-21c. We poured the developer into the developing tank and agitated it every minute for 14minutes. Once this was done we Poured the developer out and put the 300ml of stop bath mix into the developing tank. We left it in the developing tank for 1 minute, 30seconds of this minute was spent agitating. We threw the stop bath away after the minute, we then put 300ml of the fixer mix into the developing tank we had it in the developing tank for 5 minutes agitating for ten seconds every minute. Once we had finished fixing we poured out the liquid and put it under a water wash for around 15-20minutes, after the 15minutes we took it out and agitated it through the wetting agent for 15 seconds. After it had been through the wetting agent we took them out of the spools and put them into the dryer.

Risk - Chemicals Action - When working with chemicals in the dark room, make sure to always clean up spillages, to wear gloves if need be when dealing with different chemicals, to store them away in the correct place when finished using them and to ensure that you always wash your hands, even if you wore gloves especially before eating and drinking.  Risk - Food/Drink Action - Do not eat or drink when in the darkroom to ensure these are not crossed with any chemicals inside and to once again, always wash hands after dealing with chemicals. Risk - Bags  Action - If bags have to be left in the darkroom then please ensure they are placed in a cupboard or out of the way where people may walk to avoid people tripping over them.
Risk - Flooring Action - Wipe all spillages of any liquids off of the floor to avoid people slipping over. Risk -  Cupboards Action - Keep them closed when not in use to avoid people walking in to them and always place materials back to their correct place.  Risk - Darkness  Action - Always behave yourself in the darkroom. Simple things like no running, no messing about, no pushing etc.  Risk - Wet & Dry Areas Action - Keep the correct materials in the correct area. Dont mix the wet with dry and so on.  Risk - Phones  Action - Keep phones hidden away or out of the darkroom as a simple bit of light can easily ruin peoples work. Risk - Jewellery/Long hair  Action - Keep long hair tied back and take hanging jewellery off as this could easily dip in to the chemicals or can get stuck in the dryer which would leave a nasty accident.  Risk - Electrical  Action - Turn any electrical switches and equipment off when not in use. Risk - Fan  Action - Make sure you always turn the fan on when in the darkroom and always turn off when leaving!

this is my final print from the dark room i Havant scanned it in yet this is an image taken from my phone. this was take with a 25 second exposer grade 2 and 3 resolution i am happy with my final print i have produced. the detail of the image has come out very well.
Main print:
The first test strip i produced was to bright as i didn’t change the settings right on the enlarger so when the strip went through the development stage it came out grey, bright and grainy. The image also was not in focus so you couldn’t see any of the detail in the image.  Once I had corrected the settings on the enlarger and put the lens in focus the test strip came out better than the first go. The first main print I produced I left it under for 25 seconds then when putting it in the developer I left in for to long as it come out to dark or the grade was wrong. In my second print I left the enlarger on for 20 seconds on grade 3 the image when developing came out better than the first one did. It was brighter, you could see more detail and you can see what is in focus and out of focus in the image. I am happy with how my image came out but I would like to go back and take some more images and focus on the beach.

Leysdown film and possessing
Leysdown film and possessing
We went to laysdown to take some images on a 35mm film camera, to document the place by camera and taking landscape images. I also had my digital sdr camera on me so if any images on my film camera came out wrong I had a back up.  Going to leysdown was interesting as there were a lot of unusual things around that you could photograph. The settings for the film camera where 150 iso 400.
To start of with you will need a dark room or a light proof bag, this is so you wont allow any light on to the film when you take the film out the canister. When you take the film out the canister you will need a processing tank, spool, tank lid, canister opener, tube and scissors make sure you know where all the tools are in the room when the lights go of as when you open the canister there is no going back. When you open the canister you need to cut the of the unwanted film, then find the end and feed the film through the spool. This can be very tricky but practice a little before you go in. Put the tube through the spool and place it in the processing tank and place the light proof lid on top and turn it so no light gets in.
  Developing the film:
Each chemical needs to be measured right 150ml
11 mints developer you need to agitate the chemical for the first 30 seconds and then ten second every mint, then throw away the chemical.2 mints stop bath after taking out the developer you need to poor the stop bath straight in. Agitate the chemical for the first 30 seconds and then throw away after use.5 mint fixer poor the fixer in and agitate the film for 30 seconds and ten mints every mint. Take the film out to see if its developed then put back in to the tank.10 to 15 mints put under cold water then remove the film for the spool and hang the film to dry in the cupboard.
  Making a contact print:
Making a contact print with film is a short presses you can see how your film has come out and how clear or not your images are instead of doing the final print and it comes out wrong. Contact sheets are made by using a frame of glass, you need to place the film gloss side up on the glass with the photo paper under the film use the enlarger to adjust how much light you let through. First of all do a test strip to see how much light you need to let through to produce your contact sheet as you don’t want to do it straight away as you could do it wrong, when you have found the right exposure then make a full contact sheet. When you have developed the contact sheet you will be able to see what images have turned out the best and what ones you want to use as your final print.
Making an enlargement:
Before making and enlargement you need to find the image you want to produce then place it in the enlargement gloss side up switch the lamp on so the image projects on to the board and raise the enlarger until the correct focus is in show. Close down the aperture by two stops and switch of the enlarger. Make sure you remember where your image was showing and place the photo paper under the enlarger and when you’re ready expose your image to the paper making sure all your settings are right before hand then develop your image.

Developing Black & White film – mixing chemicals
Chemicals - Chemicals should be within a temperature of 18c-24c as anything below 18c will not process the film and anything above 24c will ‘fry’ the film. - We used D76 were it must be a temperature of 20c otherwise adjustments to the timing have to be made. If you take a temperature of the D76 before adding the water then this can help you make adjustments via the temperature of the water you’re using. Mixing the chemicals The developer – D76 Mix 300ml (2 films in one tank) with 300ml of water, mixed to a temperature of 20c. Stop Bath Already mixed (600ml), do not dilute, check temperature Fixer Already mixed (600ml), do not dilute and check temperature. Developer - Pour developer in to tank - 81/2 minutes for 125 ISO film (HP4) and 11minutes for 400 ISO film (HP5). - Agitate for the first 30 seconds and then 10 seconds every minute after that. - Pour away when finished. Stop Bath - Straight after the developer, pour in the stop bath for a minute and agitate for 30 seconds then throw away when finished. Fixer - Then pour in the fixer and times 5 minutes for all types of films. - Agitate for the first 30 seconds and then every 10 seconds for every minute. - Throw away when finished and take off the lid, look at the film to see its fixed correctly. Wash - Run film under cold running water for 15-20 minutes - Agitate through the wetting agent for 15 seconds. - Remove film from the reel and hang in the drying cupboard - Leave in the cupboard for 15minutes
