"Just tell me why."
"We were friends. We were all friends. We all grew up together. "
Growing up, they probably played soldiers like many boys their age, not knowing just how much war would ruin all of them...
Took me a while to complete... With GTA 6 coming out, just wanna pay tribute to my favorite protagonist and favorite game of the GTA franchise 😢

Thank you sm for tagging me, lovelies! @josephseedismyfather @inafieldofdaisies @socially-awkward-skeleton @direwombat @clicheantagonist ! (´。• ᵕ •。`) ♡
So Big news - Started doing some drawing again!! Not much just working on files I already had opened, but I did start a new Cricket drawing because I really wanted to draw them in the gta style :D
Aah, the hardest part of any Monday.. Picking out ONE song for Music Monday, lmao. Adding two because I can, and I listen to a lot of music when I'm doing creative projects :P
And for the last line tag! I've decided to call this lil piece, 'Zašto'
slight tw for violence/gore in case anyone needs it!
A total of twelve shots rang through the area as Niko towered over Darko's lifeless figure. The blood-soaked tableau before him was a testament to their shared anguish; rain melding seamlessly with the crimson horror—a haunting masterpiece of brutal indifference.
Niko sneered at his fallen comrade: "You piece of shit!" Hot anger burned through him like molten lava. "That was for everyone!" Niko exhaled vehemently, the world swallowing his anguish whole:
"THAT WAS FOR ME."

Peace and prosperity be damned, my brother.
Lost, but not forgotten.
Brothers for life, Lost forever.
Darko Brevic
We were friends, but I had other friends.
Dimitri Rascalov
If there is one thing I have learned, it is that we must obey the rules of the game. We can pick the game, but we cannot change the rules.
Johnny Klebitz
A brother might stab you in the back, a woman certainly will, but a bike will never let you down.
Luis Lopez
Sometimes, money ain't enough.
Niko Bellic
Actions have consequences.
Life is complicated.
So this is what the dream feels like, this is the victory we longed for.
The creature that could do this doesn't have a soul.
You can't predict what people will become.
You didn’t change the game, the game changed you.
War is where the young and stupid are tricked by the old and bitter into killing each other.

Derrick McReary and Darko Brevic Comparisons Ramble
You know, it’s funny to me how Niko likes Derrick so much. You know why? Because Derrick has so many parralels with Darko.
I mean, really, those two are so alike: survivors of conflict who betrayed their allies and deal with drug addictions.
Now, there’s some obvious diffrences between the two: Darko’s betrayal got almost all of his allies killed, Derricks got people arrested. There’s their ability to even admit what they did with Derrick denying his actions completely (and he did do it, check his profile on the LCPD Website Database if it wasn’t obvious already), Darko offers some rationalisations, but he’s open that he did it and it doesn’t take much to get him to admit what he got from it. There’s also a certain uncertainty if Derrick had already ratted before he developed his heroin addiction, but Darko pretty clearly had already developed his addiction from the horrors of war before his betrayal.
In fact, in my opinion, Derrick is actually the worse of the two because he normally denies what he did and we know he’s an active criminal unlike Darko who we don’t really know much of the personal life of, but I’m gong to guess he’s not robbed any banks or ordered anyone assassinated recently. Granted, Darko probably doesn’t have a criminal family and he doesn’t know Niko’s coming after him. Although, I’d suspect that if Darko did he’d be OK with it, considering his last words if you do kill him, which I guess is another major diffrence between the two.
Now, there’s a few obvious reasons why Niko is more OK with Derrick and helping Derrick than he is with Darko just existing. Darko betrayed Niko personally and his friends unlike Derrick who Niko has no real connection to apart from “brother of friends”. Niko doesn’t even seem aware Darko had a drug addiction until they meet.
Derrick says that he and Niko are ‘the same’ and, in a way, they are. Two people who do bad things for money, have strong ties and loyalty to their families (well, most of their family in Derricks case, but that’s more on Francis than Derrick) and have betrayed people (under very diffrent circumstances, but still).
Darko never explicitly likens himself to Niko, but “How much do you charge to kill someone?” certainly has the implication. Niko can see it... God, I needa write about That Special Someone soon.
In a way, Derrick is partially Darko and partially Niko, I suppose. Which makes him palatable to Niko, but I do wonder just how diffrent Niko’d see Derrick if they’d met after he confronted Darko.
Oh and RIP Derrick, because no matter what he’s dead by 2013. I still shoot Francis, though because he deserves it far more than Derrick or Darko do and I don’t believe that “Derrick is going to talk to a journalist about me and my brothers crimes” story he gives even slightly. If that was the case, Derrick would’ve never went to that park. It’s entirely possible that he is telling the truth about Derrick leaving Liberty for stealing from the Mob, though, but now I’m just typing my spontainious thoughts, so this’ll be the end of this.

Video Games with balkan characters
BloodRayne - Rayne
Grand theft auto IV (2008) - Niko Bellic, Roman Bellic, Florian Cravic, Darko Brevic
Nocturne (1999) - Svetlana Lupescu
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (2009) - Zoran Lazarević
Assassin's Creed - Warren Vidic
Payday 2 (2013) - Dragan Zubovic
Minor characters can be found in: We have Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 (2013), Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (2005) ________
My thoughts: Why do all characters have to be either evil? criminal? agressive or intimadating? Why does most of the games that has a balkan character focus on war? Lack of female characters still stands.

Gta the lost and damned bank truck local
List of prominent antagonists Grand Theft Auto III Ĭatalina is the main antagonist of Grand Theft Auto III. In every GTA game, the main antagonist dies (in every case but one by the protagonist's hand) and is sometimes joined by the secondary antagonist at the end of the game in a final battle, which wraps up the main storyline. The protagonist will battle the antagonist's group and sometimes take over their gang. Often, the secondary and primary antagonists have some sort of affiliation with each other ( Sonny Forelli and Lance Vance, Frank Tenpenny and Big Smoke).Īntagonists usually have a gang behind them for protection. Secondary antagonists are characters who end up playing muchly the same role, but to a lesser degree. There are both main and secondary antagonists of the game the main antagonist is generally the one who causes the most drama to the game's story and ultimately commits the crimes that causes the most emotional anger in the protagonist. The main character always hunts down and eliminates the main antagonist eventually, usually in a major battle at the end of the game. This often occurs when he/she abruptly opens fire on the protagonist. In most GTA games, the antagonist usually fakes a friendship or business relationship with the protagonist then eventually reveal their true intentions for the protagonist and betrays them later on, and becomes their main enemy ( Lance Vance, Big Smoke, Dimitri Rascalov). Sometimes, the antagonist is the main reason that the protagonist visits the area that the game is set in (and the reason the game takes place a perfect example of this is Darko Brevic). Frank Tenpenny), often as an ally or friend ( Catalina, Sonny Forelli).
In the GTA games, the main antagonist is sometimes introduced at the very beginning of the game (i.e. 2.10 Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony.2.8 Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and Damned.2.6 Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.2.5 Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.

When it comes to the Grand Theft Auto series, it’s debatable over who should and shouldn’t be labeled a villain in the series, as almost every character is a villain to themselves at the very least. And the playable characters are arguably as bad as the “antagonists.” Trevor even tortured an NPC in Grand Theft Auto V.
RELATED: Grand Theft Auto: 10 Awesome Cheat Codes Not Enough Players Use
However, there are clear bad guys in the series that players have to go up against, and many of them are the subject of Rockstar writers flexing their muscles, as they’re more interesting than the actual protagonists. There are many great villains in every entry in the GTA series, but these are the most colorful.
10 Salvatore Leone
Being one of many exciting antagonists in Grand Theft Auto III, Salvatore Leone has his fingers in a lot of different pies. The character is at war with the Triads, is a huge tax evader, and perhaps most interestingly, he imports tomato sauce into the country illegally.
Though he isn’t the most violent criminal in the GTA series, he commits the most endearing and innocent crimes anyone has committed in the video game franchise. He’s such a fun character that he was reused in two other games, San Andreas and Liberty City Stories.
9 Ricardo Diaz
Different eras are something fans want to see in the upcoming GTA VI, as any time the series has been set in a different decade, it has been the most fun, and the best example of that is the '80s set Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The sun-soaked fictional Miami has a whole well of villains, but the Hawaiian shirt-wearing Ricardo Diaz is one of the most opportunistic of them all.
The character isn’t afraid to rob from the Forelli family or even the Vance family, which makes him something of a wild card in the game.
8 Steve Haines
There are a select few fans who believe that the story of GTA V was a step backward, but in reality, it was the densest narrative the game had ever seen. Adding to the status of the plot were many of the game’s antagonists, including Steve Haines, who wasn’t just a dirty cop, but a dirty FBI agent.
RELATED: 10 Best Movies Like The Grand Theft Auto Games
Because of his stature as an FBI agent, Haines extorts many of his previous partners in order to stay quiet about various jobs. Adding to that is the fact that he’s also a reality star, which makes him more hated, and it’s wholly satisfying when he gets his comeuppance.
7 Catalina
Given that the playable character of Grand Theft Auto III is nameless and doesn’t talk for the whole game, there’s a lot more personality to the antagonists of the game. Catalina, the big bad of the third game, is the leader of the Colombian cartel, who is a victim of instant karma after a botched robbery.
The character has one of the most memorable deaths in the whole series, as she’s killed in an explosive helicopter crash, and it’s arguably the most satisfying moment of the game.
6 Devin Weston
Being the main antagonist of GTA V, Devin Weston is the biggest slime ball of the entire roster of Grand Theft Auto antagonists. Weston is a self-proclaimed philanthropist, and to his credit, he is pretty charitable, but he has a slew of criminal enterprises that he operates with a number of government officials and dirty cops in his pocket.
The character is more of a sociopath than anything, he finds a way to use everybody he meets for his benefit, and if they don’t have anything to give, he gets rid of them.
5 Sonny Forelli
Though the series has become famous for former Soviet soldiers and depraved hillbilly maniacs, the core of the games is organized crime, which is what Grand Theft Auto: Vice City has in spades. One of the highlights in the criminal organization that is depicted in Vice City is Sonny Forelli, who is as ruthless as he is paranoid, which leads to some classic GTA scenes.
Forelli runs brothels, illegal gambling dens, and is a racketeering guru, and his murder is the catalyst for the entire organization going under in the game.
4 Darko Brevic
There’s a reason why GTA IV is the best reviewed Grand Theft Auto game. Not only does it have the most grounded and serious narrative of any game in the franchise, but it features one of the series’ best villains too. Darko Brevic has a similar origin to the protagonist Niko, as they both became Russian mobsters after stints in the Soviet Army.
RELATED: Grand Theft Auto: The 10 Most Fascinating Theories About The Video Game Series
Brevic betrayed the soldiers he used to work with by selling them out for just $1000. And in one of the very few times in which players control the narrative in a GTA game, they are given the choice to kill him or let him live, and it’s no question what the majority go with.
3 Mikhail Faustin
Being the second of two incredible antagonists of Grand Theft Auto IV, Mikhail Faustin is one of the dirtiest criminals of the franchise, and he’s one of the most satisfying to take down.
Faustin is the head of his own organization, as he leads the Faustin Bravta and is more violent than any other member of his gang. He uses drugs excessively, is abusive to his daughter, and will stab anyone at a moment’s notice.
2 Frank Tenpenny
Frank Tenpenny is a dirty cop if there ever was one. Even upon meeting him, Tenpenny immediately shows what type of person he is by coercing a younger trainee working under him to murder a co-worker who is taking part in an internal investigation.
From that point on, Tenpenny gets dirtier and dirtier, but the thing that makes the character even more fascinating is the incredible deliberate stunt casting by Rockstar. The dirty cop is voiced by none other than Samuel L. Jackson, who chews the scenery even in the sound booth.
1 Big Smoke
The two best antagonists of the entire 20+ year series might come from the same game, but that’s just a testament to how unprecedented and ahead of its time San Andreas was in 2004.
Big Smoke is one of the best characters in the series, not only for his fast food order that has gone viral in the years since but because of how sinister he really was. Smoke starts out as CJ’s best friend, and that’s how it goes on for most of the game, but he eventually turns on the Grove Street gang, including CJ, by joining the Ballas, and it’s one of the biggest betrayals in gaming history.

📋 Following his cousin Roman's request, Niko Bellic, an Eastern European, comes to Liberty City to pursue the American Dream, and to search for the man who betrayed his unit in a war fifteen years prior. Upon arrival, however, Niko discovers that Roman's tales of riches and luxury were lies concealing struggles with gambling debts and loan sharks, and that Roman lives in a dirty apartment rather than a mansion.
Niko defends Roman from his loan sharks several times, eventually killing Vlad Glebov, Roman's Russian loan shark. Niko was forced to work for Vlad to settle Roman's debts but ended up killing him after learning that he had slept with Roman's girlfriend, Mallorie. After Vlad's murder, Niko and Roman are kidnapped by members of the Liberty City Bratva on order of Mikhail Faustin and his associate, Dimitri Rascalov. Faustin, not bothered by the murder of Vlad, hires Niko. Niko quickly learns that Faustin is a psychopath when he orders him to kill the son of Kenny Petrović, the most powerful man in the Liberty City Bratva. After the Petrović family threatens retaliation, Dimitri orders Niko to assassinate Faustin in order to prevent a gang war. When Niko meets with Dimitri to collect on the assassination, Dimitri brings Niko's former employer Ray Bulgarin instead, the latter accusing Niko of stealing from him a few years earlier. When Niko truthfully denies the allegation, a firefight ensues, allowing Dimitri and Bulgarin to escape.
Immediately afterwards, Niko and Roman are forced to escape to Bohan when their apartment and taxi company are destroyed in arson attacks by Dimitri's men. However, things go poorly as well in Bohan: Dimitri's men kidnap Roman in a failed bid to ambush and kill Niko, who rescues Roman. Furthermore, Niko's girlfriend Michelle reveals that she works for a government agency and entraps Niko into working for her agency, known only by its cover: United Liberty Paper. Niko kills several known or suspected terrorists for the agency in exchange for the file of the numerous crimes the police have on him and the promise of assistance in finding the traitor of his unit.
Eventually, United Liberty Paper tracks down the man responsible for Niko's unit's betrayal, Darko Brevic, and brings him into Liberty City. Niko confronts Darko and decides his fate. Having dealt with his past, Niko is summoned by one of his employers, Jimmy Pegorino, who demands one final favour: to help with an extremely lucrative deal on heroin in collusion with Dimitri Rascalov.
At this point, Niko is faced with two choices: strike a deal with Dimitri, or exact revenge on him. Should Niko go through with the deal, Dimitri sets up Niko by taking the heroin for himself. At Roman's wedding, an assassin sent by Dimitri kills Roman with a stray bullet as Niko disarms and kills him. A devastated and vengeful Niko later tracks down, chases, and kills Dimitri, but not before witnessing Dimitri executing Pegorino. Should Niko choose to exact revenge, Niko ambushes and executes Dimitri. At Roman's wedding, Pegorino, furious after Niko's betrayal, commits a drive-by shooting. He targets Niko, but ends up killing Niko's girlfriend, Kate. Niko soon tracks down, chases, and kills Pegorino, who had become hated and targeted by the entire Liberty City underworld.

Hiiii 🥰 Let's get 10, 15, 29, and 49 please?!
weeeeeeeeeeeeee of course! :D <33
10. Do you set yourself deadlines?
Oh god no, I just can't. I used to try to set deadlines, but it would always suck any motivation or passion out of me, and I'd end up procrastinating and anxious, lol. In the past year, I've allowed myself to work at my own pace and when I feel inspired :)
15. How do you deal with writer’s block?
Ooh, this is something I'm still trying to find hacks for, since I've been getting hit with writer's block when I least expect it, lmao. My go-to solutions so far have been re-reading current WIPs, sleeping on it, going down pinterest/wikipedia rabbit holes, work on playlists, or watch video essays. If all that fails, I just get really stoned and write the first things that come to mind, lol
29. Favourite villain
Ooo I haven't written too many villains yet, but I did have a really fun time writing Darko Brevic from gta, and I'm REALLY REALLY excited to write Dimitri Rascalov and Joseph Seed >:3c
49. Which character would you most want to be friends with, if they were real?
CRICKET. I'm still in the early stages of writing them, but they just embody all the goodness in humanity to me and I feel like they would have an amazing aura and the best listening ears <33 And also Niko because I'm supes autistic, and he's like the blorbo of blorbos to me lmao

I absolutely love the dialogue in this game for this exact scene. Both outcomes. It’s the most emotional and eye opening to Niko’s character. It shows his maturity and level of understanding the consequences of what he did or did not do.
