° Mandalorian Flowers and their meanings °

Ka’kyr'am (Stars of Death) [kah-keer-AHM]

The name comes from the fusion of the words Ka’ra (stars) and Kyr'am (death). They are the flowers most used during funerary rites, and are named as such because of their resemblas to the stars, and because they grow into huge groups of bushes, with their leaves being a dark green, giving the illusions of a starry night in the dark sky. They are the symbol of a promise, for the now dead warrior to be reunited to their ancestors, and that one day them and the living will meet again up there, accross the stars.

Kar’taylir (To Hold in one’s Heart) [kahr-TAI-leer]

The name comes from the fusion of the words Kar’ta (heart) and Taylir (to preserve). This is the flower that most often is born on old battlefields, giving life back to a place of death. They are a symbol of remembrance, to preserve and hold in one’s heart all those that came before them, fought for them and died for them. To keep their memory and fights alive even in death, by growing where their blood as been shed. Some superstitions also say they get their color from the blood of the fallens that waters the earth.

Yust’oya’nau (Road Lighter to Life) [yoost-oy-YAH-now]

The name is the union of the words Yust (road/path), Oya (life) and Nau (light). The full name Yust’oya’nau is used more often in poems or songs, while most mandos, when talking about them, either shorten the name to Yu’nau (road lighter) or St’oya (road to life). Alongside the Eed’mavan, this flower is one of the most common ones, and they are often used together by children to create flower crowns! Thanks to their mostly orange appearance, and the fact they are so common, they are believed to be a constant reminder from the Manda of the beauty of life, of how it’s right in front of you at all times and to fight for it and reach for it every single day, to refuse to die and stubbornly keep going against all odds. To survive and live on.

Ed’mavan (Teeth of Freedom) [edh-MAH-vahn]

The name comes from the union of the words Edee (teeth) and Mavan (freedom). The name appears strange at first, but its full meaning gives a clear explanation: freedom, a gift always taken for granted, can be actually taken away in an instant, and to get it back, to maintain it, one needs to fight for it, even with their teeth and their claws, because no one has to dare to take away the freedom of a Mandalorian without expecting them to fight back.

Cin’aak (White Peace) [SEEN-ahk]

The name comes from the fusion of the word Cin (white) and Naak (peace). They are all different flowers, but they all share the name and the meaning, due to them often being used in the same flower crowns. These flowers are often considered fragile or useless, that are going to die as soon as oneforgets about them for even a day, because they are just like peace, compassion, faith and hope, they need to be cured and cultivated every single day, because none of these things can be taken for granted to survive on its own, none of them are easy to maintain and achieve. And yet, in the end the effort to keep them alive is always worth it, even if they live for only an extra day, even if they die and you have to try all over again, that effort, that new chance is always worth it, no matter the price.

WAUGHH THANKIES TYSM THIS IS SO KIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! okay so first before i go into this you haveto know theyre originally from an outline for a dinluke visual novel gamei started coding and never finished. heheh. the story was originally just about din settling into life with luke and the students while training with the darksaber, but the players choices and how they had din interacting with luke andthe children deteremined the ending.

the padawan children in this au were:

Alluria- a young pantoran girl with bright eyes and a brighter smile, shes very happy with her life on yavin IV and loves studying the force with her fellow padawans, though tends to be alittle air headed and unfocused in her excitment. she wants to be everyones friend! has trouble actually,,, making friends,,, comes off kind of too strong and too much and scares away the other students who are much more reserved than she is

Reina - the youngest baby my darling reina...a young rodian girl who was seperated from her family during imperial rule- and has entrusted masterskywalker with the very important mission of helping her find them (her brother has passed without her knowing, they were extremely close- her mother holds vigil for reina every night and prays for her safe return) and believes whole heartedlysomeday they will. she was extremely shy and soft spoken when she first came to lukes academy- but has since warmed up enough that her very caring and empathetic nature is begining to shine through,, luke thinks she will be a healer

Lylah - a sleepy (almost narcoleptic) twilek girl who has visionsof the future when she dreams- when the force decides shes ready fora vision, she is already fast asleep. luke has seemingly endless patience for her, as he cant imagine having the burden of the future onhisshoulders at such a young age. Lylah is very reserved . quiet and to herself, but not in an aloof way. i think she just knows she wont be awake very long and tries to conserve energy.

Ryo - the oldest and most troubled of all my girlies... came from a very rough home life where her use of the force was punished from a very early age, despite her not being able to control it. using the force scares her, soshe rarely joins the other padawans during training. stays back and tries not to make friends really, becus she feels like this only temporary . and hey, maybe shes right, yknow? lylah has been having visions of a dark force watching them... maybe ryo should be tho one to go investigate,, she doesnt think anyone would even notice she was gone..... the bare bones plot to this vn (since i will probably never go back to it): Din is visiting Grogu at the Jedi Praxeum for the first time; he has met up with Luke on outer rim planets quite a few times but he is the first parent to be allowed to know the location of the actual school. He does not take this lightly. He is introduced to a small handful of other students, as well as invited to stay as long as he likes and observe any of Grogus classes. He does not take this lightly either. Din sits in on as many classes as he can, both enthralled by luke and the desperately need to be as close to grogu as possible. Theres DEFINITELY a scene early on where din walks in on luke training by himself in the dagobah tank-esque look like a little sweaty,,, its a dating sim, fucking sue me. Anyways. Din starts noticing more and more about luke, starts falling in love, you KNOW, the usual, but conflict wise he also notices one of lukes older students seems very troubled… Din points this out to Luke, who has very much noticed and is worried about this students pull to the dark side. He asks Din to talk with the student, give them an outside perspective from quote “a good mans point of view.” Din is hesitant, but agrees for both Luke and his students sake. The student is further gone than Luke had thought, and lashes out at Din, then runs away. Luke is very worried, but also wants this student to have the time they need to let out their emotions on their own… he's just scared of crossing the line either way and not giving them enough or too much time… defos DEFOS a scene where luke cries about how practically raising these kids by himself is so scary and he doesnt know if he's cut out for it, while Din assures him that ofc he is and that he isnt alone. He gives Luke a keldabe kiss, assuming he doesnt know what it means (he does) and assures him that he will never be alone if he doesnt want to be… later, Luke asks Din to come with him; as he has sensed the student off planet and where Luke suspects a sith artifact to be. They battle the student turned sith; and their sith inquisitor “master”...  possible endings ensue.

Some things I’d like to see in the KOTOR remake(s), assuming they actually get released. I know some of it is a bit idealistic, but I can dream 😆

More customisation: maybe your character has a larger body, or freckles, or the braided hairstyle but blonde. They’re Twilek, Mirialan, or Zabraki! Non binary! Asexual! Anything goes, babey!!

Improved graphics and animation: ok, this is practically a given, but still. Have you seen characters get killed, then stand back up so they can die properly? Or characters knocked down when frozen getting back up and re-freezing (in that ridiculous pose) 😆. Revan’s dance moves stay, obviously, they’re just smoother.

Companions can roam ship/have schedules: Mostly they’ll be where they are now, but sometimes you’ll find Atton taking a nap, or Mission at the food replicator, and so on. Maybe you’ll even see someone patching themselves up in the med bay after a particularly rough battle.

Seperate the first name/last name fields: Sometimes I find a good first name but want to randomise the last. Also, giving every character my full name whilst trying to stay under the radar is counterintuitive. 😄

Romance: make Carth and Bastila bi, improve Juhani’s romance options (keep her a lesbian though), and add romance to the Kotor 2 characters (and Canderous in K1 because I know some people want that). You should be able to turn them down at any point though if you want.

Hide weapons unless fighting: We’ve all had a character stab themself when meditating or something. Also this

Small decorations: just having little trinkets and stuff appear throughout the game as you complete various tasks. Maybe you could keep one gizka, or pazzak cards/credits stack up as you win more games, or you get a sticker saying “Visit Manaan!”, etc.

Containers say when empty: this one is just here because I’m stupid and can’t remember shit 😆

[K1] Change Tach sound: those seconds between descending into the shadowlands and finding the mute button are the longest seconds of my life. (I know there’s mods, but they aren’t available on console)

[K1] Influence system/relationship changes: It really doesn’t make sense that Carth and Bastila will watch you do something dark sided and just make a small comment before pretending it never happened. Lightside companions should become more wary of you the darker you get, with Bastila giving you more lectures, for example.

[K1] Solo/not mc sections: I really like these sections in Kotor 2, so it’d be nice to have some in the first one too. Maybe someone could deal with the Mandalorian raiders while you’re training as a Jedi, or Canderous does the Genoharadan quest. Or entirely new stuff.

[K1] Change equipment on the Hawk: Also from Kotor 2. It’s very annoying to keep taking characters off the ship just to give them better stuff

[K1] Cutscenes on ship: yet another thing from Kotor 2. Carth asking Bastila how she got captured, Carth and Canderous’ Warrior or Soldier discussion, and Mission asking Bastila about using the force for fun could all easily take place on the ship, along with other convos.

[K2] references to/import data from K1: I’d like to see people talk about the time Revan saved/destroyed Hrakert rift and affected the kolto, or about them being swoop champ, and stuff like that.

[K2] Finished product: all the stuff the Restored Content Mod deals with should be there from the beginning, no need for mods or dlc *cough* Switch port *cough*. I know we’re going to mod the game anyway, but it should be for fun stuff and minor bug fixes, not restoring half the game!

because my goblin brain can’t put this game down even while i wake up, i spent this morning planning characters i want to make for the other storylines.

the tentative plans are:

chiss sniper agent, aiming for full dark side but we’ll see

twilek powertech trooper, big boy in big armor, determined to make a BT4 male work here

droid gunslinger smuggler, when i can afford the cybernetic pieces...

cathar shadow or sentinel, eventually both. torn between consular or knight, i really like the idea of a stealthy jedi rooting out darkness, but neither of the stories seem to actually suit that

maybe a pureblood sith lightning inquisitor? gf is currently playing her inquisitor alongside Vex, so that’ll be on the backburner while i run through the others. alsooo it feels sorta contrived, so idk lmao

i do feel like i should focus on completing the BH story before making new characters, but that doesn’t stop them from rattling around in my head

Title: Shadows of Loyalty - Ch. 1

[A Litrpg story set in the world of Star Wars]

In the vast expanse of space, where stars and destinies intertwine, Kira, a half-Twilek Rebel pilot, navigated the nebulous path between light and dark. Born of two worlds but belonging to neither, her lavender skin and pointed ears marked her as different, as did her exceptional skills in the cockpit.

The Rebellion had been her home, her cause, but whispers of doubt had begun to echo in her mind. The Empire promised order, structure, a place where her talents could flourish without the chaos of constant war. It was a siren’s call, luring her away from the ideals she once held dear.

As her X-wing danced between the blasts of TIE fighters, Kira’s thoughts were a whirlwind of conflict. The Empire’s might was undeniable, its reach vast. Could she truly make a difference in the Rebellion, or was she destined for greater things within the cold embrace of the Empire?

The decision came at the climax of a fierce battle, her ship damaged, her squadron outnumbered. With a heavy heart, she turned her X-wing towards the Star Destroyer that loomed like a titan above.

“Kira, what are you doing?” came the crackled voice of her commander.

“I’m sorry,” she whispered, more to herself than to him. “I have to find my own way.”

Her ship was pulled into the hangar, the clamps locking it down with a finality that mirrored her choice. As she stepped out, her eyes met those of an Imperial officer, his gaze sharp, but not unkind.

“Welcome to the Empire, Lieutenant Kira,” he said, a hint of respect in his voice. “We have much to discuss.”

And so, Kira’s journey began anew, not as a Rebel, but as an Imperial, her story a testament to the complex tapestry of allegiance and identity in a galaxy far, far away.

Infiltration Schemes

(Aster is 20 in this one and a certain someone is 19) this is just for funsies, and trying to show off Aster’s scheming skills

Aster saw the flashing lights from the distance.

“What is that?”

“A nightclub…it’s definitely not allowed but the Imperials need some entertainment.” A quite mutter about, dancers.

“They got liquor?” She asks, her companion a Mandalorian gives her a confused look under his helmet.

“What kind of nightclub wouldn’t”

Information was easy to come by for Aster, either at knife point or taken from loose lips when she asked sweetly.

It was not hard for her to sneak inside, among the Twilek dancers, pantorans and herself? She slipped in with ease. Garbed in little more than lace, she was just like the other ladies. Making heads turn and a few whistles as she walked by in pretty heels. She grabbed a tray from the bar and was motioned to go to a group of Imps.

Looking into the passing booths she saw other ladies very close to the patrons. Some bored. Some ensuring their flirtations would ensure a big tip…

Aster knew the role she had to play. “My oh my where did they hide you?” The Imperials looked her over with hungry gazes. Crimson red, dark curls and a chest that was just almost bursting out of her “uniform”

“Just started, “ she smiled, “ So what brings you all to this neck of the the galaxy.” She poured them shots with an expert hand.

“Come sit with us and we will let you know.”

She looked worriedly back to the bar, “ You promise I won’t get in trouble?”

“Oh you’ll be more in trouble if you ignore an officers orders…”

Aster mentally scoffed, and outwardly giggled. “Okay okay.”

She played her part well, getting the newest plans, the latest schemes, the sad news that the imperials were expected to leave tomorrow and would be deprived of her company.

“Oh that is too bad. I was so looking forward to serving you all again.”

She made her move to stand only to be tugged back. “ You can still do so…we can get a room…give a soldier a nice send off.”

She imagined throttling his neck. Biting down on his windpipe. Ending his life for daring to grab her wrist and suggesting such a thing.

“Oh I can imagine!”

She somehow ends up in one of the back rooms, the imps excitedly chattering amongst another about their luck.

Aster sways back and forth; as if dancing. They watch mesmerized until the room goes dark.

There is shouts outside. Aster gives a scream of concern. Blaster fire outside the door.

Masked Mandalorians burst through the door. They make a grab for Aster and shoot an imperial in the hand. The imperials look on frozen as their companion screams.

Aster is gone.

“Did I get the right one?” Ezra pops up the borrowed helmet.

“You read my mind darling, as if they had the chance to even kiss me.” They are in the hovercraft racing back to base. Aster sends Ezra a cheeky smile. “Ezra…” she could read his thoughts and feel all he gave off.

The Jedi blushes, “ Sorry Princess…couldn’t help it.”

She hums pleased, “ I’ll thank you in a bit. Best I tell everyone what I know.”

“Dressed like that?” He tosses her a poncho.

Aster laughs, “Good call else no one would listen…”

before I forget it

I had this Star Wars idea in my head

1st idea starts on a ship that's getting attacked by fighters. So you have the classic smuggler pilot. Dark haired lady and grey bearded man as passengers. First scene has a bucket head droid speeding down the hall with a scream as the lady opened the door after the shooting woke her up. We have a why would they be attacking us and it might have something to do with the cargo confession moment (*read argue). Now there's another ship escorting this one so the smuggler is really hoping for his "buddy" to turn the tide but the ship ends up crash landing on a cold, snowy planet. Now to speed up what's going on here "buddy" is actually a Jedi, cargo is a force sensitive child a girl being smuggled out of a planet that does it's own things and would surely keep such a child for their own ambition, fighters shooting at them actually don't know what's the cargo and their order is to attack anyone who gets too close to this planet in particular. Now there's an army base here where the child will be taken to after being found on the ship, everybody else escaped from the soldiers into mountain and caves where they find the last surviving man from some other ship that got attacked before them, he is a mercenary so he has few heavy guns from his pals that didn't make it. No one at the base suspects anything about the child. One officer is kind and concerned about this child. Commander doesn't care. Now this officer doesn't understand why in a well heated base the child is feeling really cold but that's because she can sense our characters outside being cold but there is also something else on that planet. Something else that is drawing the force sensitive child like a call. That army base was put on this planet to actually find ancient Sith ruin. Well the "buddy" character eventually shows up in the end to save the child and have a dramatic entrance and reveal how this character we had yet to see was a Jedi. 3rd idea (2nd starts under)(EDIT:should have just said new idea) lets say these are episodes of a series so the first episode would end with this Jedi once again entrusting the child to the smuggler as he has decided to stay and investigate the ruin.

Second episode would then start like this: so the smuggler brought the child to the Jedi council and has a message for them from that other Jedi but before he can tell it he is asked to wait. And now for 2nd idea i had. A women is brought into the room and masters accuse her of falling to the dark side. She ignores their questions and wants to tell what happened on the day her master and she arrived on this desert like planet tasked with dealing with locals concern that a bandit has somehow acquired a Sith artifact. We can hear council masters commentary in the back from time to time in this story. Basically the story is they contacted concerned locals after arriving, with their help took on a bandit who did indeed have a Sith artifact that makes people into mindless zombies buut... before taking care of the artifact her Master suddenly sensed danger and force pushed her away where she fell awkwardly and injured herself. Turns out a red twilek dropped her mask and allowed the Master to sense her, allowed him to sense the dark side of the force. They start battling in a narrow corridor that doesn't really have much space for dodging left or right and then the twilek decides to charge him like two knights on a jousting tournament. They are both pierced by light sabers, twilek is dead unmoving but then her eyes look up at the Master for dramatic impact. Now the woman telling the story starts describing how she was physically and psychologically tortured strapped to a table until one day she closed her eyes giving up on life and when she opened them the twilek was right in front of her face. Standing in front of the council she pulls a lightsaber from an opening in her left arm and we see the twillek in her story fall to the ground like lifeless puppet. Council is surprise attacked by a force wave. Smuggler tries to escape when fighting starts and fires few shots which of course are blocked and the women makes the mistake of wanting to toy with someone who poses no treat to her but the smuggler quickly shoots in the ground making the women take a step back and at the sealing making her look up right into the blast spot sparks as a shrapnel falls into her eye. Everything else now happens in 2 seconds, her disappointed in herself for letting this happen and council master attack that sends her falling on the ground face down but then the masters notice something else as the wall behind her becomes shadowy darker and then the darkness quickly escapes. So the women was actually possessed by that shadow.
