Dark Reflections, Part 3
Tumblr media
Mary awoke in a distorted world. Either she retained her full memories or she only remembered her time as Mary Agana and forgot that she was once named Mandy. Either way her body returned to the empty shell she wore most recently. Neither alive, nor dead, nor even undead… a new form of “existence” altogether. She explored this world. It was confusing, but also desolate and bland.
Soon she went to an old Skoolhouse with a pumpkin patch and met her great grandmother Mary Worthington (who looked different from the woman “Mandy” saw in her childhood). Whatever answers she tried to pry from Worthington were not by words, Worthington couldn’t speak. For awhile Mary Agana thought she had no sentience at all. But Dr. Agana could sense pain and suffering. Whatever the circumstances was for her death back then, it probably was gruesome indeed and that was what led to Worthington’s current state. A state that was different from her own. The person formerly known as Mandy killed her great grandmother and sent her soul away from the realm. Mary Agana then suddenly felt-no, sensed a great energy surge through her.
As Mary was remodeling the mirror realm, she suddenly heard someone calling out the words “Bloody Mary”. She peered into a reflective surface and saw the face of the one calling her. She instantly knew.
Bloody Mary appeared to the one calling her new name and gave her a real fright.
Tumblr media
After time has passed after the doctor’s disappearance, the children, the youth, and a few brainwashed by the “treatments” told tales. They spoke that the doctor was actually a walking and talking “empty shell”.  Some were more mundane and conspiratorial, like Dr. Mary Agana just fled and became a gym teacher or similar. But the most popular one was that of Bloody Mary. If one were to speak the words “Bloody Mary” in a certain number of times in a mirror, she would appear. What happens when one were to say her name varied. Sometimes she just spooked them. Others she left scars in them. Others say she still continued her “therapy” and brought a person’s fears to life, or submerged them in deep layers of hatred or sorrow. Several accounts even said she would bring them into her own world behind the reflections.
All of the above came true.
Bloody Mary’s world was a confusing land of opposites and distortions but also far more colorful and vibrant than it was before. Several characters from fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and fables existed here alongside some of the scariest urban legends and myths. She brought to life the Body Collectors, who this time resided in an even worse distortion of Victorian London. Here there were no Jack the Ripper or other Victorian serial killers. It was always the Collectors using scapegoats to mask the bodies and body parts they were collecting to hang as “art”. Bloody Mary had control over all of the realm of reflections and could shape it to her will. In addition she could control all lesser paranormal and supernatural entities. Such as the creatures from her experiments who reappeared in this world. Though this was not solely limited to the mirror world, far from it.
A few characters in the mundane world became her helpers. After a shootout which left him bleeding from a bullet wound, Charles Lee Ray invoked the words “Bloody Mary“ to escape his fate. Subsequently Charles Lee Ray became a murderous Good Guy doll by the name of Chucky. Like Mary, he also did not belong to the dead or even undead planes of existence and usually does his own things… for now.
Bloody Mary is one entirely without emotion. At least she thinks so. Still there is that odd nagging that something is missing…

Dr. Mary Agana was right about her potential forgetfulness when she crossed over. She did forget she used to be Mandy; or at least she questions that she used to be her.
What is her mode of existence called? She is neither dead nor alive, but she is not undead either. Mary is in the gray area. It’s kinda cool.
I would imagine that a mirror realm would be desolate and bland, but also very shiny.
Mary Agana then suddenly felt-no, sensed a great energy surge through her.
Mandy! You killed your great-grandmother!?
Has Mary become so detached from her old life and memories that she does not know that she is Mandy, and that she killed Mary Worthington? Perhaps Mary Worthington recognizes Mandy, or she is “frightened” by the similarities Dr. Mary has to her great-granddaughter. That’s why she cannot speak.
Well, I can’t say that Mary is detached. She experienced an energy surge in understanding what happened to “mute” Mary Worthington. Dr. Mary must recognize herself as being relevant to the situation, even if she cannot state what her exact role was.
As Mary was remodeling the mirror realm, she suddenly heard someone calling out the words “Bloody Mary”. She peered into a reflective surface and saw the face of the one calling her. She instantly knew.
Bloody Mary appeared to the one calling her new name and gave her a real fright.
And so Bloody Mary is born!
Several accounts even said she would bring them into her own world behind the reflections.
All of the above came true.
I’m not calling Bloody Mary. It would just be just my luck that she drags me into her realm and then I’m tortured for eternity, lmfao!
Such as the creatures from her experiments who reappeared in this world. Though this was not solely limited to the mirror world, far from it.
Dr. Mary (or Bloody Mary) made some very interesting modifications to her personal domain. I’m glad that her “army” reappeared, and it’s interesting that she seems to control parts of the world beyond her mirror realm (if I interpreted the last sentence right).
Bloody Mary is still allied with Charles Lee Ray. He must have done a wonderful job during their time together as she saved his life and allowed him to achieve his next form: Chucky!!!
There might be a void in Bloody Mary…forever.

Mini steps towards being independent:
I know. I know the frustration of not being in charge of your life. Especially when you are financially dependent and for some under 20s. Everyone treats you like a child but expects you to be an adult.
Then we have the group who go on insisting they are adults and capable of taking life decisions but for the love of God can't change their bedsheet responsibly.
Thus, I have come up with some mini tricks that will make you feel just a tiny bit independent:
Anytime anywhere list
1) Learn how to cook.
2) Take responsibility for household chores such as washing clothes, utensils, etc.
3) Do groceries shopping.
4) Keep track of the essentials required at home and make sure to stock them up.
5) Change the bedsheets weekly.
6) Clean your cupboards timely.
7) Plan a trip with your friends and take care of the execution part.
8) Decide what to make for lunch, dinner or breakfast and execute it solely (right from buying the food required to cooking it).
9) Check on your younger siblings studies. Take an update of their life or keep your room organized and clean.
10) Grow plants.
Planned execution list
Live alone. Try to get out of your parental home and start a new life in another city.
Get an internship/job.
Manage your finances on a budget and save money at the same time.
Take major life decisions such as your career field, whom to be friends with, etc solely on your own judgement.
Learn to navigate difficult social situations with ease.
Adopt a pet.
Develop your own ethical system.
Curate your discipline.
Identify your non-negotiable in different aspects of life.
Learn to speak up for yourself.
That's all for today's show on ash-says. Stay tuned for more illegal tricks and explosive opinions.

Dark Reflections (Part 2)

Tumblr media
Mandy obliterated her entire home. No one in Beverly Hills survived. She made a few others disappear though so that no one may think her as one of the dead and that suspicion would not be brought upon too much on her face.
She remodeled her embalmed body to appear a bit older though she retained her overall look. With some minor study into psychology and some forgeries, she formed the new identity of Korean-American psychologist “Mary Agana”. “Dr. Mary Agana” saw and studied patients for awhile and opened herself to the secrets of the human mind. Something she never got to really process back in Beverly Hills.  Mary saw that so many people were trapped in cages formed out of their own minds and emotions. People dwelling in hatred and rage, people controlled by fear and terror, people torn apart by sadness. She thought of her own existence at times, specifically the gradual loss of her feelings. After some time, Mary Agana sought to get a research facility where she could perform some immersive psychiatric therapy, where she would expose patients to the source of their fear, anger, and pain as a way to seemingly cure them of their ailments. In fact this all was a front for “Mandy’s” original plan. Mandy did not intend to limit her (future supernatural) self to just fear. Expectedly, everyone rejected her request for a grant for this operation as they feared the potential damage brought on to patients. So Mary used what remained of her old fortune (that she herself robbed) to set up her own treatment facility in New York City.
Along the way, she was brainwashing random people either to work as orderlies at the “graveyard shift” or as part of the plan later on. Mary also picked up a local serial killer named Charles Lee Ray to work as an orderly there. He was the only one who was brought in on Mary’s plan and she taught him about what she knew about the soul.

Mary would often use mirrors as part of her therapy sessions. If one were to be too overwhelmed, they would say the “safe word” and the session would end.
It was never meant to be a serious operation but some of the actions of the patients brought Dr. Mary Agana’s attention. One patient was forced to watch a slideshow which contained “symbols” about what he perceived were about fear death and madness. He used a fountain pen to carve the symbols into his own flesh. Mary kept the pen as a memento. A photographer named Charlie McPherson had the choice to suffocate in a glass coffin or to step out and confront his fears. He chose the former, though Mary got away with it due to the waiver. Mary frequently pondered about her own “existence”, her feelings fading and all.
Still Mary had to be careful, no one was supposed to suspect her of foul play just yet. In the daytime that is.
Soon the underground “laboratory” was complete and Mary started doing the “real” experiments. Mary, Ray, and the brainwashed orderlies were kidnapping countless numbers of people (though not just homeless this time) and performing the same experiments Mary achieved back then. Mary remembered the Old Hartford Mansion and how the couple (or those that looked like the couple) materialized due to legends. Mary recreated the experiments in case her new form may forget all her memories as Mandy.
However Mary and Ray started looking into the circumstances that produces a paranormal entity; the emotional factor; and with the necronomicon Mary formed tests that combined psychology and soul magic. By recreating the conditions that produced a supernatural entity “naturally“, Mary began using the same conditions to “artificially” create new fantastical creatures. The tests worked, and she created hundreds of beings such as werewolves, banshees, wraiths, wicked fairies, etc.
Sometimes she would let curious explorers (such as children or teenagers) find an entryway to the laboratory and find the hideous experiments but since she sealed the laboratory by magic they couldn’t gather any proof. All they had were the words. Words that spread through the streets.

Mary noted an interesting change in her patients in her “day job”. Her ”thesis” wasn’t really serious. And sometimes she would just brainwash them. But some of the patients DID appear to have their negative emotions taken away. Its just that so did the rest of their emotions. Word began to spread that those who went to Dr. Mary Agana’s therapy sessions came out as different human beings altogether, more like emotionless but functioning shells than anything.
Mary knew that the private detective was watching her for suspicious activity. However she felt- no, sensed that their were others watching her. Was the realm of the mirror calling to her? Or someone?Mary started to kill her patients in the day job. In one such session, she had a patient strung under anesthesia and lined him in a room filled with mirrors and ignited the whole room. As the mirror cracked and the shards struck him, she saw her. In the reflections multiplied. The same lady she saw in her childhood at times. Could this be her great grandmother? Or someone of her imagination?
People were saying strange things about her, most of which were not entirely untrue. Mary knew the time was coming. She formed herself an all new body using pieces of skin and flesh. The sudden change of having her “alive” body back was overwhelming but it wouldn’t last long. This was to ensure a failsafe for her “realm of opposites” theory. If she was normal in this world, then she would become something entirely different in the other.
Mary passed through the “door to death”. Her body vanished.
Soon reports came in about the sudden disappearance of Dr. Mary Agana, about the facility being covered in blood and shards of glass. The bodies from the day job were eventually found, but no one could locate the murderous doctor. Likewise authorities were unable to uncover the underground laboratory (and the creatures inside disappeared too). But the audio recordings, journal entries, and patient files were intact.

Mandy obliterated her entire home. No one in Beverly Hills survived. She made a few others disappear though so that no one may think her as one of the dead and that suspicion would not be brought upon too much on her face.
I figured Beverly Hills would be destroyed. It’s always something holding Mandy back. Also, it was a smart idea to position herself as being one of the disappearances.
Something she never got to really process back in Beverly Hills.“Dr. Mary Agana” saw and studied patients for awhile and opened herself to the secrets of the human mind. Something she never got to really process back in Beverly Hills.
Beverly Hills was probably too superficial and conformist for Mandy. Also, it forced her to play a particular role that wouldn’t bode well for her aspirations. I understand why she destroyed her hometown and faked her disappearance.
Also, her makeover is another bright idea. It’s Mandy, but mature enough that she can pass as her new self, Dr. Mary Agana. It’s not good that Dr. Agana has only studied psychology on a “minor” scale. 😬😬😬
It seems that Mandy has good intentions of freeing people from their psychological and/or mental issues, but her method of doing that does sound dangerous. It’s “exposure therapy”, but excessive. Therefore, it will undoubtedly overwhelm the patient and they could become even more consumed by their ailments.
Does Mandy (or Dr. Mary Agana) want to intensify these emotions to make up for the loss of hers?
Along the way, she was brainwashing random people either to work as orderlies at the “graveyard shift” or as part of the plan later on. Mary also picked up a local serial killer named Charles Lee Ray to work as an orderly there. He was the only one who was brought in on Mary’s plan and she taught him about what she knew about the soul.
Mary has found a partner! It’s crazy to think that Charles Lee Ray has been serial killing in pursuit of some ultimate truth about souls. It’s either that or Mandy set him on that path for her benefit.
Mary would often use mirrors as part of her therapy sessions. If one were to be too overwhelmed, they would say the “safe word” and the session would end.
Does Mary use the mirrors so that the patients can look at themselves in pain? This might be a “duh”, but mirrors can have many uses. I’m just thinking that if the patient looks at themselves in distress, or in any extreme emotional state, they could start to dissociate or detach from themselves. They become two different beings; one is the experiencer and the other is the observer. The observer experiences the lesser meta-emotions, and with time, emotions become superficial and almost non-existent because of that.
Dr. Agana is putting her patients in life-threatening situations; she has allowed at least one to commit suicide. Her voyeurism and potential vicarious living (her patients experiencing more and more intense emotions, almost so she can experience them indirectly because there is so much) have gone too far!
I feel bad for Mandy and Charles Lee Ray’s community. There is so much abduction and death occurring. Everyone must be in perpetual state of grief and terror now!
Smart for Mary to create a Mandy “Save Point”. Mandy’s life is worth remembering, even if much it was an artifice.
Wow! Mary’s got an army of supernatural creatures now!
Sometimes she would let curious explorers (such as children or teenagers) find an entryway to the laboratory and find the hideous experiments but since she sealed the laboratory by magic they couldn’t gather any proof. All they had were the words. Words that spread through the streets.
Mary (or at least her lab) is becoming an urban legend.
Dr. Mary Agana is creating a form of zombie or “living ghost”, similar to the man depicted in Osamu Dazai’s No Longer Human. She has traumatized her patients so severely that not longer register as true human beings.
Mary! You morbidly curious murderer!
At least through her patient’s death she was able to confirm that there is something in the mirror. What does it want with her? She also confirmed that there is a mirror dimension.
Mandy was able to transform herself into Dr. Mary Agana.
Dr. Mary Agana was able to transform into…a mirror entity similar to what she saw before and an urban legend. What’s next with her adventures? What will come of all this?
