The Bird Man
Danny 'Jed Olsen' Johnson x reader
Pt one
Another day, or not who knows, another trial. You had just jumped onto generator number three. Two of the other survivors had been sacrificed before you even had the chance to blink. You knew the only one left was Jake and he was already on his last hook. You hated it, but your best bet would be to get this Generator done and make a dash for the killer shack and pray to the Entity that it would allow the hatch to spawn. You still hadn't seen the killer yet and had no idea who it was. You just knew who it wasn't.
You heard Jake's scream off in the distance. You had gotten used to having to leave others for dead so you could get out, though Jake yelled at you for doing it once, and it didn't phase you as much as when you were a fresh survivor. A weird orange hue burst through the sky. Well, at least you knew the hatch had spawned. But sadly it was right as the generator powered so whoever the killer was would now be aware of your location. You stood and turned only to be met with the white screaming mask of Ghostface. You screamed and quickly covered your mouth. The two of you just stared at each other. He crouched twice before saying "Tweet tweet."
Cautiously, you spoke. "Still thinking about that?" You heard a small chuckle. "You are the first and only survivor who would dare say something like that to me. I have to say you have become my favorite plaything. It is quite the honor, (Y/n)." A wave of confusion washed over you. "How do you know my name?" His deep chuckle was muffled by his mask but still loud enough for you to hear. "You know, that little barrier the Entity has around your little fire only keeps us out. It doesn't hide you. You never see me even when you know you should be looking for me. No one expects me to be at the campfire. The things I have seen and heard are very useful. Like that kid, I just sacrificed yelling at you for being 'useless'. That is why I saved him for last. So I could have a bit of fun with him. Where is my thanks?"
He hurt jake more than required because he yelled at you? "You admit to making my friend suffer more than usual and you expect a thank you?" Danny laughed. "You need new friends then. And of course, I did. I can't let someone talk to my pet like that and get away with it." You were shocked. "I'm sorry, your what now?"
The killer stepped forward and cupped your cheek with a gloved hand. "You, my little survivor, are my pet. The entity is pleased enough with my performance that it will allow me to do whatever I please with you including sparing you should I choose. Face it little thing, that little snide comment was enough for you to become my permanent obsession. I want to have a little fun though." You soon felt a sting followed by searing pain. He had stabbed you. "The hatch is in between the pile of cars. You get ten seconds."
You took off running. Ignoring your current injury you made your way to the cars. As you got closer you could hear the wind draft of the hatch. You turned just as you heard a laugh behind you. You were so close though! He stabbed you again while laughing. It soon died down and you heard a deep voice yell "Fuck!" Borrowed time. You turned around just as you got to the hatch. "See you later, Birdman!"
Through the hatch you go!

Chapter Three
You arrived home after a walk back from work. The day was pretty hard on you. Jed had you write what you were able to get from the police so that you could send it in for the Gazette. You went into your kitchen and grabbed a bottle of cheap corner store red wine and poured yourself a glass before taking a sip. You leaned against the counter and sighed. The image of that poor girl lying lifeless in her blood. Was Jed going to get pictures of her?
Were her last moments on this earth photographed to be put in some envelope for Jed's viewing pleasure? This guy was sick. And he broke into your house last night to 'introduce' himself to you. It was sickening. And how did you not hear about it before you moved here? You took a sip and felt it burn. It burned and tasted disgusting. Just what you needed. Before you knew it, half the bottle was gone and your sight was fuzzy. Being tipsy has never felt so freeing before. You stopped though. You had work tomorrow and if Jed needed something from you it wouldn't be good if it was done hungover. You sighed and made your way to your fridge and looked for something. In your freezer, you found microwave chicken strips. Good enough! Right before you were going to open the bag there was a knock. A knock on the back door.
You warily walked over not even needing to think about who it was. Your new little fanboy of course! When you cracked the door you didn't see anything. You pushed it open more and saw a bag with a note stapled to it. It was a fast-food bag. You grabbed it then quickly ran back inside. You locked your door behind you. You sat it on your counter and looked in the bag surprised that it had real food in it. You ripped the note off the bag and looked at it. 'behind you' it read. You quickly spun around and there he was in all his ghostly glory. "What? Don't have a table wherever your little hideout is?" He stalked up to you and waved his knife around in your face. "You just moved here and just graduated college. Ramen and frozen foods aren't good for you, doll." You could hear the smirk behind his mask. "I need you alive for a while. Gotta keep my things healthy, don't I?"
"Why should I trust food given to me by the serial killer currently waving his knife around in front of me?" He tilted his head to the side. "I mean if you don't want it, I will gladly eat it and leave you here with your sad little fish sticks." You grabbed the bag he brought. "Chicken strips." He grabbed your wrist and pulled you against his chest. "I heard you disobeyed me. I told you not to keep reading. I can't have you figuring out the ending before the show is even over." He had his knife pressed to the part of your thigh exposed in your shorts. "Don't disobey me. You belong to me now. I own you. You are only breathing right now because I allow it. I can be over here with my knife in your body before you can even pack a bag and get the fuck out." He began to apply pressure on the knife which then breached past your skin drawing blood. You felt him drag it back causing a cut across your thigh. You cried out in pain before he stopped. "Next time you choose to ignore orders I will make it hurt way more. You get a call from a phone number you don't recognize; you answer it. I don't care what is going on. Now sit down, eat your dinner, then go to bed. You are going to have a busy day tomorrow, pet.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ next day
The next day you walked into the office with a large cup of coffee from the cafe down the road. You went to your desk and began setting up for the day. You emailed Jed the article you had finished last night. You were checking to see if anyone had asked you to do anything when Jed walked up to your desk. "Hope you got to t5ssleep last night. We have quite a long day ahead of us." Huh? That's what that lunatic said to you last night. Could Jed be... no! He can't! There is no way. Jed is too nice. The thought left your mind almost as soon as it came. "There was another murder. This guy has gotten a lot more active lately." You took a sip of your coffee. "Good. Well, not good for the people but good for law enforcement. That means he's gotten comfortable. He knows he can get away with it. This is usually the point at which killers get caught because they began cutting corners and it causes them to slip up. It means they may be able to catch him soon." You hoped they would be able to before he could kill you. "The police wanted some time on the scene before we came. They asked for three hours. Then it is our job to rush in and be burdon on their day by trying to keep the people informed of the serial killer." He rolled his eyes. "I don't know why they care. They won't find anything. They never find anything." He had a strange tone when he said that. It's probably just your imagination. You are scared and sleep-deprived. You are just hyper-aware and ready to jump to conclusions about the slow downward spiral you can begin to see your life take.
Three and a half hours later you were leaving the crime scene with Jed. A man had been killed. A man in your neighborhood. "Are you sure you didn't see anything? Nothing?" You sighed. "No, I didn't see a thing last night. I can't believe he was able to go unnoticed like that. I mean I was up late last night and everything I didn't see or hear anything unusual." Oh, how Danny wished he could break character and pet you on the head and tell to how good you were for not saying anything. You deserved a reward for your good behavior. Looks like his visit to you last night was a success. He could see so many different ways to play with you. And he couldn't wait to see how far he could pull you. If you were really well behaved, he may even choose to give you the honor of taking you on as an accomplice. First, he needed to get you to trust Jed. Once you trusted Jed, he would be able to work his way into your heart as Jed. Ghostface would continue to push his way into your life, and you would look to Jed for comfort. When you've fallen so far, you've hit rock bottom you would look for Jed to pull you back up. And Jed would reveal himself and rip away the only support beam you had left in your life. Danny would become the sole thing you depended on. He could already see his master plan. You were different from everyone else he had encountered so far. Danny couldn't wait to break you. You clearly had something you were hiding. Some dark secret. You may be able to full everyone else, but Danny could see it. Behind those tame eyes of yours, there was a spark. A spark Danny couldn't wait to add lighter fluid to.

Chapter Two
Your first encounter with the infamous Ghostface goes a bit different than you would have expected. The next day at work you have your first assignment from Jed.
tw-knives and Ghostface being an asshole but what else is new?
"What's the matter? You look like you've seen a ghost?" You stared at the white mask stuck in an eternal scream. "What are you doing here?" You started backing up towards the kitchen where you could grab a knife. "Little birdy told me we had a new journalist on the block. One who didn't even know who I was. And I thought 'well we can't have that, now can we!' so here I am! And if you keep trying to make your way into that kitchen I will have you bleeding out on the floor before you can even get to the third drawer from the right." That is the drawer with your knives in it. You froze. He straightened his posture before walking up to you. He placed his knife against your cheek. "Thata girl. At least you know how to listen." You could hear the smirk in his voice. "You know, you've got quite the cute face. I wonder what it would look like scared." He trailed the knife down to your shoulder right under your shirt's short sleeve. Or maybe in pain." It was then he pressed the blade of his knife hard into your skin causing you to yelp and back away from him.
"Stay away from me you psycho!" You pulled your hand away from the cut and saw the blood on it. You look up at him. He got a two for one. Seeing you hurt, and now you were scared. He tilted his head to the side. "Well, that wasn't very nice. You treat all your house guests like this?" He walked up to you and pulled you by the arm into himself where you both had your bodies pressed against each other. His arm wrapped around your waist and his knife was at your neck. "Now this is what is going to happen. You are going to tell me what exactly it is you have gathered about me so far, or else I'll have to spill open that pretty throat all over this floor. Well, I may still decide to do it but at least this way you can hold on to a shred of hope that I won't kill you right here and now." You took a deep breath. "I don't know much. I am being honest. I haven't read too many of the articles about them yet. You aren't like most killers. A lot of them have a motive or at least a pattern. The only thing you have that repeats is the fact that you stalk them and call them right before you kill them. You don't have a pattern and from what I read it didn't look like you had much of a motive either."
You stared into the pitch-black mesh eyeholes of the Ghostface mask hoping to see something behind them. There was nothing. Slowly, he took the knife and let go of you. "I kinda want to see what you'll write about me. Maybe you'll be more useful than the police are. I like you, so I will let you live." He paused before adding "For now, at least. And don't tell anyone about my little visit. I will know if you did and it will not be pretty. You don't want to know what happens when you disobey me." He grabbed your face and made you look at him. "Don't read any more of that geek's articles. Can't have you cracking the case before the fun has begun." You felt his breath on your face. It smelt.... minty. At least he had good hygiene? He spun on his heel towards your back door. "Whelp I'm off. Someone's got to keep you busy." And with that, he was gone.
The next day, when you arrived at work and sat down at your desk Jed came over to you. "Hey, so I hope you read up what you could. There's been another murder. Ethan wants us on the scene. Come on. I can get pictures if you can take notes. I'll even be nice and let you write the article." He joked. He cocked his head and his smile fell. "Are you okay?" He killed someone. Was it before or after he broke into your house? Was that what he meant when he said he was going to keep you busy? You looked up at Jed. "Oh, sorry. Just haven't gotten used to the fact that there is a serial killer here I guess." You stood up and grabbed a notepad. 'Good girl keeping your mouth shut.' he thought.
Jed drove you both over there and you made your way out of the car and over to the crime scene. You both flashed your press passes to the police and they let you through. When you saw the body you had to turn around. You put a hand to your mouth and Jed came over and rubbed your back. "You can step out and get some air if you need. I can get the pictures and you can talk to the police and get what you can out of them. Sometimes they don't like talking. Just breathe. You get used to it after a while." You nodded and walked out. But you couldn't get the image of the bloodied-up body. It could have been you. It could have been Jed. It could have been anyone. He chose at random and you didn't know he was stalking you until it was too late. You and Jed left after a while. You didn't have too many problems with the police. You got back into Jed's car. He got in and you both buckled up and he looked at you. "Are you okay? It's hard to see it your first time. After a while, you become immune to it. He's just caused so much death in this town. He showed up a few months after I started. You know he leaves pictures on my doorstep? Pictures he takes while he is terrorizing them. Pictures where they are alive, while he stabs them, and then when they are dead. I guess he must like me." He joked. You looked at Jed. "That's sick. He's sick. He's crazy!" Jed looked at you. "So what do you think about him? How much did you read?" He dug through his coat pocket and pulled out a pack of gum and offered you some. You shook your head. "Quite a bit. I almost feel like your stalker." You joked. Jed found that ironic seeing as how it was the other way around. And didn't he tell you not to read any more than you already had? Bad girl (Y/N). He made a mental note to go visit you later. "I think he has a god complex. He wants to choose who lives and who dies. And he does seem to have a pattern that I noticed. He seems to think that the people he kills are people who have nothing to offer the world. People who he thinks don't get to live. Most killers have a more distinct pattern but with him it's hard to pinpoint who he could go after because he chooses people who he thinks are worthless and to him, that could be anyone making everyone think that he picks at random." He raised an eyebrow at you. "Pretty good, Rookie. I'm impressed." He then thought 'And angry. You disobeyed me." You would definitely be getting a visit from him tonight. But not from Jed. You were getting a visit from Ghostface

Chapter One
You, a new Journalist at the Roseville Gazette fresh out of college, are trying to make your way through life in the small town you have settled down in. You were drawn to a co-worker of yours by the name of Jed. Little did you know that him being drawn to you was possibly the worst thing that could have happened to you.
There you stood in front of the Roseville Gazette office. Saying you were scared was an understatement. You were horrified. You had on your usual style of clothes but tweaked it enough to make it look professional. You walked inside and made your way to the receptionist. "Hey, could you point me in the direction of Ethan Morburrow? I'm supposed to be starting today." You smiled at the receptionist. She looked at you from behind the keyboard. "Name, please?" You responded with your name causing her eyes to light up. "Ethan told us you'd be coming today! Sorry, the last new guy we had was almost two years ago. He was a great addition don't get me wrong. We are just excited to have a new person!" She stood up and walked around her desk. Her outfit looked similar to yours. She probably needed to keep appearances up since she was the person everyone met first.

She led you up the stairs. "Sorry, we don't have an elevator. The building only has two floors luckily. It's just wide. We are really glad you are here. No one really wants to come to Roseville anymore. 'Specially if it means working for the Gazette." She smiled wearily. You cocked an eyebrow. "Why don't they want to come here? This is a quaint little town." It was her turn to be confused. She was about to ask you a question when a man walked up to you. "Ah, Miss (Y/N) I presume?" You nodded your head and took his outstretched hand. He put his hand on my shoulder and turned me away from her. "Thank you, Patricia. I got it from here." The lady nodded and walked back downstairs. You heard her tell someone 'thank you for waiting' so there must have been someone coming in. Ethan led you to a closed room. "I need to get a picture of you so I can set you up with a press pass. You will probably be needing it now. If you wouldn't mind standing in front of the green screen for me."

Ethan got you your pass. "Thank you, Mr. Morburrow." He laughed. "Please, call me Ethan. I'm 36. Not 60." That made you laugh. He led you out into the main office space where a lot of the photographers and writers were. "As you saw, my office is back there. A few of the others have their own office, but they are the ones who write for one specific beat. I noticed on your application you had a minor in criminal psychology. You are a great writer. I am sure Jed would find some use for you. I'm going to put him in charge of you for now and we will see how that goes. Sound good?" before you could answer some people had approached. They introduced themselves to you and they all seemed pretty nice. Later two other people came over. One girl with long black hair and blue eyes and another man with Brown hair and green eyes. He had a bit of a beard as well. He was quite attractive. "Ah, so this is the newbie you were talking about. So Jed has grown out of his newbie status." She nudged the man next to her. "Dani, I've been here for nearly two years now. Pretty sure I grew out of it a while ago." He smiled down at her and looked at you. "So what made you come here? Got a thing for killers?" You looked at him confused for a moment before the girl he called Dani gasped. "Do you really not know?" You moved here and you don't know?" You felt awkward with everyone staring at you. "Know what?" You asked. She spoke up again, "About the killer running through Roseville. Ghostface." You laughed. "Well, that's a stupid name."
This raised a reaction from some of the others as well. "She minored in Criminal Psychology. Maybe she'd even be able to help us catch the Ghostface. She's all yours Jed. And Dani, let her have the empty desk next to you. If she needs help with anything then take care of it. I've got to be at a meeting soon. Don't burn the place down while I am gone."And with that, he left. "I'm Jed." The brown-haired guy stepped forward. "So you have a minor in CS. I know you don't know much about our friend Ghostface but mind taking a look through some of my work later? Maybe Ethan is right and you can help catch Ghostface." You smiled at him. "Sure! I can do it when I get home!"
The day went off without a hitch. Everyone was very kind and welcoming to you. You were in your pj's and sat down at your couch in the middle of your room with your favorite drink looking through all the articles you could find of Jed. There were some pictures of the killer along with details of the murder. The weird thing that stood out to you was the lack of patter and motive. You were so caught up in your own thoughts you didn't hear the sound of the creaking back door. Almost all killers had a motive. Or at least a pattern. This guy had neither. He just seemed to take lives because he could. Because he could play the role of death, "So basically all this dude really is is just some psychopath with a God complex?" What happened next chilled the blood running through your veins. "Well, that's quite a way to put it. I prefer the term artist." You jumped up and spun to where you heard the voice. There stood the same person you had seen in the articles. Ghostface stood in your living room flipping his knife around. "Hello, (Y/N)." He brought his knife by his side and turned himself towards you. "What's the matter? You look like you've seen a ghost?"
