Visited IRL Danmar (Nevada) and found that Corbin got a street name after him!
I mean he DID save the city. Only fair that they name a street after him.

Hi, Alex! I very much enjoy your photos. Thanks for posting!
I am also gay, I am somewhat incontinent (though I like diapers all the time), and while I am not a person with autism, I have terrible balance. I have cerebellar ataxia. I wear a hard shell helmet for walking, but it seems I might need something for indoor use, as I'm falling with some frequency. It's certain I'll end up in a wheelchair, but I want to avoid it as long as possible. Question: do you have a favorite helmet for indoor use? Yeah, likely we have different reasons, but I'm guessing you have good experience.
Thanks tons, Michael
Hi Michael! I am glad that you like my pictures. I hear that we both have different challenges where wearing an adapted helmet is a very good idea.
In my case, I was hitting my head a lot as a kid and young teenager as a bad behaviour, not so uncommon for autistic persons. My parents were using the taekwondo soft helmets because they were soft on the inside and outside, reducing the risk of hurting my hands and fingers as well. I did like the texture of those helmets, but not every autistic kids would tolerate that texture, and some might find them too hot and sweaty.
A very good adapted helmet is a Danmar. It has a hard shell, and soft interior, made for prolonged wearing and perfect comfort without sweating.
Today as an adult, I still like wearing my helmets, but for different reasons. It’s more comforting than useful because I don’t hit my head anymore unless extremely upset and overstimulated. Although my meds are working well for my seizures, there could be a potential that one occurs in certain situations.
Either a Danmar or a Taekwondo soft helmet would protect my head if I fell on the ground suddenly. They don’t happen often anymore, and I don’t wear any helmet in public.
In your case, I suggest that you talk to your doctor about the possibility to prescribe a Danmar helmet with proper measurement of head circumference for best fit and comfort. If you have medical insurance or a group insurance, they might be covered with a prescription, and/or tax deductible if no insurance. There are other brands on the market, but either the helmets are overpriced or bad looking. The taekwondo soft helmets aren’t made for prolonged wear as the skin moisture eventually makes the interior harden and eventually crack, ending up to buy a new one much sooner than a Danmar.
If you have more questions, don’t be shy to ask. I’ll be more than happy to answer the best I can.

Shorea javanica is a large tree species endemic to Indonesia
The species is confirmed on Sumatra however the species range may be restricted to one national park, giving an estimated extent of occurrence (EOO) of just over 1,600 km2 or could extend further north giving a much larger extent of occurrence however this estimate is based on a specimen made in 1934 so it is suspected to no longer be present here. The population is currently suspected to be in decline due to fragmentation and forest loss across the region and there is the threat of further expansion of oil palm plantations.
This is a particular concern in the region of Krui where the species is cultivated for Dammar. In this region the species is cultivated but is managed to allow the natural regeneration of sites and therefore still provides a genetic reservoir for the species. This area is targeted for the development of the oil palm industry. The species can also be used for timber but the extent to which this is a threat to the species is not known. Overall, it is likely that the species has a restricted geographic range, small population and is subject to decline and is potentially only found in up to three locations. The species is globally assessed as Endangered.
Population
The population of this species is reported to be small and restricted. It is found in fragmented forests and is rare. Population experienced great decline prior to the 1990’s but since this time the pressure from logging has ceased and current decline is minimal. There was extensive deforestation within Sumatra that was 2.5 times more than the global average. The species is considered to have low genetic diversity, with homzygote loci contributing to much of the genome although microsatellite diversity is higher than predicted. So far the species has avoided inbreeding depression. Within Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park the species is common. The species is thought to have become isolated since the last glacial epoch.
Habitat and Ecology
Shorea javanica is a large tree species, growing to over 15 m and up to 40 or 50 m in height. The species shows habitat specificity making it restricted to lowland areas on volcanic soils only. It grows within primary and secondary forests on land that is periodically inundated. It forms important ectomycorrhizae relationships which encourages growth. Seedling are shade tolerant, however, the best growth occurs within gaps in the canopy. It most commonly flowers in January and is pollinated by insects.
Seed is dispersed in the wind and generally exhibits good germination. The species is also found in danmar gardens whose structure often bear good resemblance to natural forests with an age structure canopy and good biodiversity. Within these gardens the species is allowed to regenerate naturally. The species is found within patchy forests which are at risk from decline due to logging and expansion of plantations in southern Sumatra.
Use and Trade
This species is used for timber but is more popular for its resin which is harvested locally by villages. For timber it is traded under the name white meranti but the harvest of this species for this is very uncommon. The species is used and prized for its dammar, which is of higher quality than from other Shorea. This is used in the production of varnishes, to caulk boats and to produce torches. The species is found within agro-forests and danmar gardens for this purpose where it is often cultivated alongside coffee trees.
Individuals are grown up from seed and the forests are managed naturally allowing trees to fall in their own time and encouraging Shorea javanica seedlings to grow in their place. In 1994 and 1995, 14,750 and 9,900 tonnes of danmar was traded, respectively, out of Indonesia. Trees can produce between 2 and 15 kg of danmar per year depending on size and age, however tapping for this does damage the tree and reduce its lifespan. Cultivation of the tree began in the mid 19th century however due to the natural management of these sites the species has maintained good genetic diversity for a cultivated tree. There is some collection from natural stands of the tree.
Threats
This species is threatened by habitat loss and fragmentation which is already thought to have caused a massive reduction in range for the species. The sites of the danmar gardens in Krui are also under threat as they are in a prime area for the development of oil palm plantations. The price of danmar is in decline and there are more artificial substitutes which may be pushing garden conversion to oil palm, although this is illegal. This puts a remaining reservoir of genetic diversity at risk.
As the remaining population of the species is small and relict there are concerns that there will be genetic erosion and inbreeding depression in the near future. The tapping of any remaining natural trees will reduce their life span and this is a potential risk to the species. It needs confirmation if tapping of wild populations is still occurring or not. Timber harvest is not a threat to the species.
Conservation Actions This species is present in ex situ collections in Bogor Botanic Gardens, Java and in wild individuals are found Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park, Sumatra showing that the species is subject to some in situ conservation. In the National Park, the population size should be calculated and there species presence north of this location should be confirmed. Although the populations within Danmar gardens in Kuri are not wild it should be ensured that they are not taken over by palm oil plantations as they provide an important genetic reserve for this species. James Kottak (born December 26, 1962) is an American drummer. Kottak is best known for his work with the German hard rock band Scorpions, which he joined in 1996. At the time of his firing from the band in 2016, he was their all-time longest-serving drummer, surpassing Herman Rarebell, who spent 18 years in the band.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Prior to joining Scorpions, Kottak was a drummer for the Bob Brickley Band, Nut House, Mister Charlie, Buster Brown, Montrose, Kingdom Come, Wild Horses, the McAuley Schenker Group, Warrant, and Ashba. He gained early mainstream exposure during his time with Kingdom Come, appearing on the band's first two studio albums, the first of which included their biggest hit, "Get it On." This track prominently features Kottak's drumming, culminating in a drum solo just before the song's conclusion.

In February 1997, he helped Dio on their US tour by replacing Vinny Appice for four or five shows when Vinny Appice had pneumonia. He also gave drum lessons at Far-Out Music in Jeffersonville, Indiana, once having as students former Bride drummer, Jerry McBroom. He also played with guitarist Michael Lee Firkins.
Kottak also plays in his own band Kottak, formerly known as KrunK.
On April 28, 2016, it was announced that Kottak would be replaced by Mikkey Dee on 12 North American headlining dates, including a run of shows at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas dubbed "Scorpions blacked out in Las Vegas".[1][2] On September 12, 2016, it was announced that Kottak was no longer in the band.[3]

so we know the banner colors and icons for Torva and Paviya but were there ever banner colors and symbols for The Goddess/Kai or Yo'uun? i've never been good at spelling though so i'm sorry if i messed any names up!
So Torva and Pavia are part of the Upper Pantheon, the main OG God Bitches, and as such they have a lot more pageantry because their following is a lot better established and far reaching. A Torvaic temple in Danmar needs to evoke the same feels as a temple in Hero's Gate, etc. The colors and symbols are largely inventions of mortals, though the more involved Gods have had some say in their follower's aesthetics over the ages.
Kai/The Goddess specifically has no symbolism or heraldry. Kai had/has a very complicated relationship with her godhood, and her own temple. Idk if we'll ever end up getting into it in the podcast -- if we don't, ask again after the finale! I have Lots of Thoughts but I'm holding them back!
Yo'uun is part of the Lower Pantheon, which is made up of demi-gods. Demi-gods who have formal temples are largely only worshiped by the mortals in a small local area (Dawson being the exception), so his heraldry is more informed by the culture of the mortals who worship him. There are small carvings of his likeness, and his colors would probably be shades of red as that is the pigment most available to his followers in the Red Caverns!
