Captured Tails

A/N: This is a collaboration with @imunsavy so she’ll have part 1~

Summary: You had been working at the same waterpark for some years and you thought you had seen it all until the new park attraction opened with a new type of creature that no one had ever seen before

Part 1

“Fuck! Would someone get me out of here!?” You yelled out in pain. Taehyung looked at you with a concern but yet stern face from what you just said while Namjoon ran over to you to start and try pulling you out. Yoongi looked at you with a raised brow as if he thought up a way to get you out.

“I chew off?” He smirked. The boy behind him with blond hair hit his shoulder.

“I’m sorry,” he said, “he doesn’t behave well sometimes. That’s Yoongi, I’m Jin and this is Jungkook. We are all worried about our friends.” He finished with a small smile.

“We are too! Believe me. We came down here right now to see if we can help them escape but we have suddenly run into an altercation.” You said as you pointed at your foot. “Tae. Joon. You guys pull on the count of three. One. Two. Three!”

They pulled on you as hard as they could to get you out but it didn’t work. Your foot was a goner. Yoongi was really going to have to eat your foot. And he’d be ecstatic about it. Or so you thought. You heard Jin squeal some noises to his pals and finally spoke up towards you.

“We have an idea. Could you two step back?” He directed to Taehyung and Namjoon. They obliged and walked back off the two boulders. The three went under the water and to your surprise they had set you free. They had some magical super strength that you figured came from being a mermaid or for their situation, mermen. Plus 1 shark.

“Oh my god! Thank you so much! Now off to find a way to get you friends out!” You limped off onto the trail of rocks. You finally got to the ledge of rocks by the cage. “I don’t see anything... how about you guys?.” You asked to your coworkers but they just shook their heads. “How about you, Jin? Is there anything under the water?” They took a dive to scope to place out but they came up with nothing. Neither up or under had the answers to getting them out. You kept walking across until you slightly fell from the slippery rocks. You hit your knee against the steel cage along with your palm.

“It seems to me that Namjoon transferred his clumsiness to you.” Tae chuckled. Namjoon and you both turned to Tae and slanted our eyes. “Right, sorry. Not the time.” And after that remark you guys hear a knock from the other side. The lot of you looked at eachother in confusion as you knocked once more. You received another noise.

“You should try saying something in your language!” Namjoon said to the mermen, “it might be Jimin!”

So they did and to everyone’s surprise it was. The boys cheered in squeaks and weird noises until a panicked look took over their faces.

“What wrong?” Tae asked.

“He’s says that there is many legs looking at them.” Jin responsed.

“Legs?” The three of you questioned.

All he could do is point at you guys and slam his fist into the water. “Hyung, people!” The chocolate haired boy said. “People inside. All look at them.” He continued.

“The business looking men!” Tae said. “They’re all here today. I’m not quite sure why... the boss must really want the best help for them?”

“No Tae... he’s trying to sell them. We need to get them out of there but I don’t know how... Let’s go inside. Wait, Could you guys ask them if they’re still looking at them?”

They obliged and squealed out the questions. They all shook there heads. “He said that some left but some are still looking. Please go save our friends.” He said with the most worried eyes.

“We will.” You reassured them and waddled off back from where you came from. You went through the staff door on the side of the building and to the staff room where there was a first aid kit.

“Jeezes Y/n be more careful next time.” He said as he wrapped your ankle and Tae kept look out.

“Ahh yes Namjoon, next time we go outside the park to help out some mermen I will!” You yelled angrily which made Joon look up at you with hurt eyes. “Namjoon I’m sorry. You know I didn’t mean it... I’m just stressed.”

Namjoon just looked down and kept on wrapping your ankle. “Yeah, whatever.” He said as he got up to put away the first aid kit. “Let’s go. Tae is the coast-clear?” Taehyung nodded so you all went out to head to the mermaid tank. You guys kept clear eyes making sure you wouldn’t get caught. Before you knew it you saw a group of men in suits walking your way meaning you all had to hide. You panicked and jumped into one of the park game tanks. You noticed Tae and Joon were frozen in shock so you had to pull them back making them fall on top of you. You couldn’t worry about the pain coming from Namjoon laying on your leg as you had to stay quiet and still.

You waited until the men walked by to push them off of you and grab onto your ankle. “Namjooooooon,” You whined, “You sat on my foot...” the two boys looked down at your foot which was now slowly bleeding through.

“Oh my god! I’m so sorry. Here get on my back.” He turned around and slouched as he waited for Tae to help you on. On your way to the tank, making sure there wasn’t any men left behind, you patted Joons chest and stuck your head next to his.

“Are you still mad at me Joonie?~” you asked.

“No but I will be if you get us caught so shh.” He responded while smiling. You kept quiet and watched as his dimple grew. You gave him a small peck and laid your head down on you shoulder. He wished that you couldn’t hear nor feel his heart pounding from inside him. He took careful breaths and proceeded on with the walk.

When you arrived near the exhibit Tae checked out the area as a precaution since he was the only one allowed at the time. As you all entered you could see Jimin and Hoseok propped up onto land. Namjoon crouched down so you could slide off and sit next to them. Joon and Taehyung joined as well.

“We need a plan.” You said to them, “But I’m not sure what... we can’t exactly pick you guys up and out of here. Someone would see us sooo, suggestions?”

Everyone sat quietly as there was nothing coming to mind from any of you. You all just stared at each other with blank looks, well a little anger from the mermen.

It was so silent that when Namjoon peeped up you all jumped but continued to listen to what he was saying. “Where did you get that necklace?” He asked Jimin. Although his face appeared confused entailing Joon to point at it.

“Oh it’s ancestors. Very ancient. Uhmm story to it. Hoseok tells better than me so I will ask him to.” He poked at the boy next to him and shrugged our way.

“This necklace?” He said unsurely but Namjoon shook his head to suggest he pronounced it right, “It has been passed down from many grandfathers ago. It landed on Jimin when our mom gave to him. She died when we were young along with father. We have been told that this gem is special. That it turn mermaid into you. But it is missing the other half. The powers have not worked in very long time. We tried already to make it work but nothing has turned it on.”

You all sat there in amazement at how a beautiful piece of jewelry held so much story. You also had realized you’ve seen it before. You all quickly looked at each other and said what you were all thinking.

“Quadrant 3-“ “Gift shop.”

Both you and Namjoon looked at Taehyung with a ‘wtf face’.

“Oh... I saw some at the gift shop so... but quadrant 3 it is! Except we don’t have permission into there so we don’t have the keys. We could wait until tomorrow. I don’t know how much time that gives us.” Taehyung input.

“We also don’t know if it’s the actual one I mean it could just be a replica like the others.” Namjoon said throwing the whole idea off.

“Look, we have to give it a try. What else could we do? Drill a hole in the cage?!” You sarcastically inserted but Tae looked like he wanted to agree, “ Tae. No.”

“Dang it. Fine okay so we wait until tomorrow. Y/n goes to the unit gets the gem then goes to the gift shop to put a replica in its place before anyone notices.” Taehyung said the plan out.

“Wait why me?!” You called out.

“Because I have shows all day and Namjoon has tours.” He answered.

“He’s not wrong.” Namjoon added.

“Aish!” You rose your hand as if you were gonna hit them but settled it back down, “Don’t worry.” You turned to the other two boys. “We’ll get you out of here somehow. Even though this is a long shot.”

It was the next day and everything started out how it always did. A rush of people, the smell of greased up food and all the sounds from the animals and children. You changed into you work uniform and hurried over to quadrant 3 where the artifacts were. You went to the back and started chatting it up with the worker assigned there.

You told Kihyun that boss told you to bring in the amulet for inspection. He was confused on why since he’d never asked before but you just shrugged and told him you had no clue. He led you to the back of the display and open the door for you to grab. You assured him you’d be back with it in no time then limped off back to where you came from.

On your way to the gift shop the boss spotted you Making you panic as you both knew you weren’t in your assigned quadrant. You quickly rushed inside the shop and started talking to Yoo-jung. She was also thrown off by the surprise visit but went along with the conversation while she rung someone up. This didn’t stop him from coming up to you though.

“And may I ask what you’re doing here?” He said sternly, straight into your face causing you to stumble back. “Are you going to answer me?” He asked with his face gliding closer to yours. The spit from his ‘to’ made you stumble back a bit knocking over a display that so happened to the replicas from the gem you had. Luckily, you still knew which one was your since it fell separately from the others. Unfortunately, some kid picked it up and demand he get it so his parents bought it for him. You quickly got up to run to him but Mr. Natsume pulled you by your shirt.

“Where do you think you’re going? First you come her unauthorized, then you make a mess and try to run without picking it up? Why were you even here? You never explained yourself!” He whispered yell so he wouldn’t cause a scene.

“I-I-“ You stuttered out.

“I I-“ he mocked afterwards, “Well? What is it?”

“Yoo-jung needed a pad. It’s that time of the week for her. Isn’t that right, Yoo-jung?” She saw the trouble you were in and nodded her head furiously.

“I see... well get this mess picked up. And go back to your post!” He stated as he kicked one of the samples from the floor and left.

You half hazardously threw the figures back into the box and onto the stand from where it once was. You yelled out an apology towards Yoo-jung and ran but not without grabbing two extra replicas. You looked left and right for the small child. Running up and down the park until you hit the food court. That was when you finally spotted the miraculous little child. You walked by very slowly while trying to be as unsuspicious as possible. From what you saw it was sitting next to the little boy so all you’d have to do is

inconspicuously grab the sucker and replace it with the fake.

You thought up different ways to divert the attention away from you but none of the plans would be able to happening without Tae or Joon so there was only one real way to achieve the prize. Fake falling.

You placed one of the fakes in your left pocket and the other one in your right hand so you could swiftly make the exchange. You walked up near the table the family was sitting at and did the most dramatic fall you could’ve done. So much so that if you would have done it at your high school play auditions you would’ve surely gotten the part but since you didn’t you were stuck here, on the floor. The family looked at you with odd looks and so very little concern which made you feel less guilty about stealing the child’s toy. You lifted yourself up from the bench next to the boy giving yourself a chance to sweep the fake close to him and achieve your main goal.

You chuckled nervously while apologizing, “Sorry for ruining your guys wonderful evening. I with that you all carry on with your fantastic visit.” You said while smile through the pain of just falling and making a fool of yourself.

Finally having the gem made your veins pump in excitement as you raced through the park back to quadrant 3. Once you got there Kihyun asked what the fuss was about with the artifact but all you did was shrug once more, “They didn’t let me into the room so I’m not quite sure.” And with that you gave it back to him and he placed the decoy into the showing area.

As that plan succeeded all you needed to do was get back to Jimin and Hoseok and see if this would really work. You prayed that it did since it was the only thing you all had going. You thought all was going well until you met face to face with your boss once again.

You had been caught now and you were fucked. Mr. Natsume was standing right behind you as you were about to help the two boys. He grabbed your bicep and spun you around so quickly you nearly got whiplash. "So you are lovey dovey with these animals? You know I was hoping it wasn't true, I thought we had something." He breathed in your face causing you face to flinch at the smell of old coffee and cigarettes.

"You asshole there is nothing here! You are delusional!" You spat in his face causing him to jerk his head away and wipe the spit with his free hand.

He faced you with a darker look in his eyes "You little bitch." He growled backhanding you while letting go of your arm.

Your head spun at the strong impact. You couldn't focus on anything. You felt his hands on your shoulders as he shoved you backwards. You hit the water physically before your head could register that you were even in the tank. When you had started focusing, you were already sinking. What you hadn’t noticed before you’re dive was Namjoon and Taehyung behind some rocks and bushes with Namjoon recording the whole interaction. They were about to run after you until they saw Jimin dive.

You felt arms wrap around your body as you saw Jimin's blurry face above you. The next thing your mind was aware of was his lips on yours. You couldn't tell what he was doing until you realized he was pushing air into your mouth.

He pulled away and brought you up fully to the surface. You stared at his face as he asked you, "Are you okay?"

You nodded and he smiled softly while gently touching the forming mark on your cheek, "it hurt?" he asked again. You couldn't feel anything at the moment except for the feelings you had realized that you developed for Jimin.

You lightly touched his cheeks, slowly bringing your face close to his own as if not to startle him. "Jimin, can I kiss you?" You whispered.

He looked surprised "Kiss?" He asked before remembering what a kiss was and nodding at your request.

You smiled then kissed him once more wrapping your arms around his upper body as he gently placed his hands on you as well. He was being very mindful of his sharp teeth and was scared that it might frighten you off but you didn't seem to flinch even once.

“A-are you okay Namjoon?” Taehyung asked placing a warm hand onto his shoulder. Namjoon states in disbelief at what he had just witnessed.

“M-maybe if I just delete it. No one will ever know and they’ll be taken away... Y/n can’t love a fish! She just can’t...”

“Don’t be fucking stupid Joon.” Taehyung said surprising the both of them. “Pardon my french.” He apologized. This snapped Namjoon out of it.

“You’re right, fuck...” he said as he wiped his tears with the back of his hand. He put his phone away and slid down the big stone they were near.

“That was the saddest fuck I’ve ever heard...” Taehyung crouched down to Namjoon to hug him and pat his head. “So what're you going to do?”

Namjoon slowly looked up at Tae with a teary smile, “Crushes expire all the time. I’ll be okay. I just need some time, I mean I was in love with my best friend after all. What an idiotic move...”

As Taehyung comforted Namjoon you were still recovering from the lack of air from both the kiss and almost drowning. As you slowly inhaled and exhaled you remembered that the quartz was still in your pocket. You showed it to Jimin and Hoseok so they could make sure that it was the right gemstone. They nodded their heads quickly and plucked it from you.

They set the clear rock next to Jimins necklace and that’s when you saw it. The gems seemed to turn on the magical force surrounding the mermen. Jimin and Hoseok both had legs appear on them. It would’ve been a magnificent sight to see until both of them started almost drowning. Hoseok more than Jimin. You helped them climb out of the water and stand up. To your surprise, transforming from a mermen to a human did not come with any clothes whatsoever.

They had to hold onto you as they figured out how to walk and even after a couple steps they were still hooked onto your arms. “Okay we need to get you guys at least to the staff room and get you clothes so no one recognizes you. Come on, you guys can do it!” You giggled at their inability to balance but also cringed away from the skin to very exposed skin contact.

As you were making your way to the targeted area you saw something move from you side view. You turned to see Namjoon and Tae huddled up next to the rock wall.

“You guys okay?” You asked as you stayed holding up the two naked men.

“We were just uhhh... Namjoon! He stubbed his toe. This stupid wall came out of nowhere really.” Tae excused up.

“Oh okay... Namjoon we could bandage you up in the staff room. Could you guys help me with them though? Its like teaching a baby dear how to walk.” You chuckled as you let Taehyung take Hoseok away from her. Namjoon fake limped to the room as he followed behind them. He and Tae let Jimin and Hoseok take some of their spare clothes to wear out.

You were all lucky to escape the water pool prison in the nick of time. Taehyung saw Mr. Natsume coming towards you guys and yelled to you all to book it, so you did. You all ran, well others limped, to the other side of the Alijee Park. Away from the entrance. The people. Only the ocean and the people you traveled this small journey with.

You all were catching up on your breaths when you heard squeaks and squeals coming from the sea. It was Jin, Jungkook and Yoongi. They were ecstatic to see their friends, so much so that Hoseok and Jimin tried jumping in before stopping themselves while the other three tried swimming out. In the end we all sat on the sand as the three marine boys stayed in the shallow end of the waters.

“Why aren't they humans too?” You asked, “Hoseok doesn't have a necklace but he turned human.”

“He legs because he holding it. If they had necklace too, they would be humans.” Jimin answered.

“What about when you wanna be one of them again, do you have to take the necklace off? you asked once more. This whole magical necklace story fascinated you more than you would have admitted.

“We would have to get wet. We did not change back in the water from before because the power was awaken after so long. It grew much after time.” Hoseok answered this time.

“Ahh I see. Now what if they wanted to be human too? Then what?” You questioned furthermore.

“We have to give them necklace too but then we don't have.” Jimin answered which gave you an idea.

“What if, now hear me out, you cut the necklace into pieces and all turned human?” This made everyones eyebrows raise. They were intrigued by the idea and went on thinking about it.

“Give me.” Yoongi demanded with his hand out. Jimin and Hoseok both gave Yoongi their pieces and turned back into mermen. Yoongi somehow managed to shred up the two rocks into eight pieces leaving everybody with one piece. “Here.” he said handing one to everyone.

“Even us?” You asked him in shock. He nodded then drag himself onto you to wait for his new legs to come in. So did the other boys. You knew it was going to take a while for them to dry off so you sent Taehyung to get more clothes from the staff room. Couldn't have naked boys wobbling their new profound legs everywhere.

Taehyung came back in perfect time as they had all transformed into humans although Jimin and Hoseok still had their outfits dry and clean from before.

“You guys could come stay with me!” You excitedly suggested.

“But Y/n, you'll be the only girl?” Namjoon interfered.

“Don't worry Joonie, you can come too~” You reassured him as well as Tae after he gave you puppy dog eyes.

“Actually I have to make a pitstop.” Taehyung said. “Namjoon send me the info.” He directed to him with finger quotation marks. You asked Namjoon what that was all about but changed the subject onto the boys.

“Well we should get you all situated with the human world, shall we?” Namjoon said bowing and waving his hands in the direction of your house.

It was a wonderful night listening about stories from the ocean and hearing the boys try to speak more. You all clicked so well as if it was meant to be. After all the chatting you thought it'd be a good idea to watch a movie and settle down. Taehyung eventually came during the middle of the movies with pizza which the boys found absolutely outstanding. But hey who wouldn't after eating only fish and sea food their entire life.

After the movie you had gotten a call from the people of your work. It just so happened that that good for nothing boss of yours was fired after a video of him hitting a girl, which you assumed was you, had leaked and that someone had suggested you to become a manager. You were as happy as you could be. You were going to be able to help out the marine life more and do things mostly how you wanted. When you hung up the phone all you could do was jump up and down until Namjoon asked what was up, “Im going to be the manager!” You shrieked, “And I want you two to co-manage with me!” They both nodded their heads at the incredible news. After everything calmed down Jimin crawled up next to you on the couch, “You are happy?” He asked.

“Very very happy Jimin.” You replied.

“Good. If you are happy, I am too.” He smiled.
