HEADCANONS
Many of those in the outskirts of Selphia who live nearby Viv don’t realize that he’s a six-hundred-year-old immortal. To them, he’s just the quiet neighbor who brings them extra peaches from his trees. He stops by local celebrations and brings gifts or food depending upon the occasion, but few have ever seen the inside of his home, and even less know anything about him other than the kind gentleman who brings gifts.
Even with modern technology, Viv still enjoys the older parts of life. He isn’t entirely cut off from the modern world: yes, he has a computer and a phone and is capable of using both, he prefers hand-written letters and photographs and hand-woven blankets as opposed to an instant message or a digital image or anything mass produced.
Within his house, there is a large collection of art - namely photographs and small paintings or drawings. Most are not from any well-known artist, but rather are views of people he has met over his lifetime. Some of the artwork is their exact portrait, while other pieces represent them - a drawing done by them, a photograph of their favorite spot, or a painting with their favorite color.
Dreamshade
House: Vanitas Ability: Blood Manipulation Viv is capable of creating, changing, or destroying the memory of other people. In order to view a memory - or display a memory to someone else - he must have a container or be able to touch that person’s blood. In order to destroy a memory, Viv can use his own blood’s corrosive properties. Mixed with blood from someone else, a single specific memory can be erased, or altered depending upon the severity of the corrosion. Animal: Snow Leopard
BIOGRAPHY
Although known as the generous peach farmer by the majority of his neighbors, Vivansh did not always behave as such. The eldest son of a wealthy nobleman, Vivansh was raised with the belief that humans, quite simply, were beneath them. Their lifespans were so short, how could they possibly ever accomplish anything of significance? It was up to Vivansh and his family to record their histories and continue their work long after the human had passed and their name lost to time itself. The human would not be remembered, but thanks to Vivansh’s father, their work would still continue. Humans should only feel so grateful to have someone to continue on with what they started. Without dreamshades, Viv often believed, nothing of true elegance could ever be accomplished. Set to inherit his father’s wealth, name, and title, Viv seldom interacted with humans; what was the point, given how brief their time here was?
That is, until one girl saved him. Sacrificed her life for him. He couldn’t wrap his mind around it. How was it that he, who had already lived so much, could be saved by someone who would disappear within a blink of his eye? She hadn’t asked for much in return, simply to be remembered. It was as if Viv had been confronted by a brick wall. Saved? Remembered? If humans were so far below him and other dreamshades, why had she willingly given herself up for him?
Still, Vivansh felt indebted to her. So he planted the tree in her name - Peaches. He hadn’t seen much use in it at first, but every year the tree grew and bore fruit, and as each year passed, he still found her name at the top of his lips, perhaps the first human he’d ever took the time to recall.
Years passed, but Vivansh could not forget her face, even after that first peach tree grew barren and withered away. He planted another, this time for the fisherman who offered him an extra fish, free of charge. Then a third, when the baker who lost her young child wished to have more than just a grave to speak to, and a fourth when someone’s husband never came back from war. And then he met her again. She was different this time, a new name, a fresh face, but Viv could tell it was still the girl who saved him all those years ago, the light in her eyes still remained the same.
Every moment they spent together challenged him in a new way. He realized, contrary to his father’s belief, humans were fascinating. They may not live forever like he did, but they persisted nonetheless. They made efforts for a future they would never live to see, and Vivansh realized they were beautiful. Perhaps even more accomplished than his fellow dreamshades.
But Vivansh was an immortal, and the one he’d begun to fall for was not. No matter how much time they spent together, hers would have its end. His life would continue regardless. Their meetings grew cyclical. They would meet. She would grow. He would remain the same. She would leave him, either from age or tragedy or sickness, and he could wait another century before meeting her again.
When his father discovered Viv not only living alongside humans, but working with them — for them — he grew furious. No son of his should ever stoop so low. He offered Viv two choices, to either work by his side, or to give up his wealth. Now, Viv lived a fairly comfortable life. There was no need for work, only if he wanted to. Giving up his wealth meant he would be entirely on his own. And yet, so many humans started out similarly. If they could make it, why couldn’t he?
So Vivansh rejected his father. And, as such, was cast to the side. No money, no inheritance, cut off from any resources, he was forced to carve his own path and build himself up. He fell back into his peach trees - a habit he had persisted with over the years. The original trees had long since died, but Viv still kept his promise to them, and remembered each one. Their descendants still continued, and the peaches helped him create a life for himself.
Since then, Vivansh is much more well off. Though, as far as his neighbors and many of his acquaintances know, he’s just the friendly peach farmer with wisdom beyond his years. He still looks for the same girl who saved him centuries ago, and does his best to record the memories of all those around him. He’ll continue his father’s legacy, but perhaps in his own way, as opposed to the way his father wanted.

Dal Dhokli Recipe
A traditional Gujarati dish made from wheat flour and toor dal. this is a matka recipe served alone without rice or roti as both are used in its plan. By the way, you can also serve it with roti or rice dal dhokli recipe
There are many recipes of dal which are made in different ways. In any case, those dishes are generally not served alone. They are also served with roti or dal. however, this dal dhokla recipe stands out from the rest as it is made of wheat and pulses, and will keep you full even if you don't serve it with anything else.
I use the leftover dal and roti every day to make dal dhokli recipe. I use whatever is available at home rather than using a recipe book. however in this recipe i have added raw roti to the boiling dal curry in gujarati style. For this recipe, I have also prepared dal in Gujarati style.
furthermore, i would like to add some tips, ideas and variations to this dal dhokli recipe. Thin dhoklis take longer time to cook in dal, so keep them thin. If the dal is not cooked as expected, then there is a problem in processing it. Then put the thin prepared dhoklis one by one in the dal. When the dal starts boiling, the dhoklis will stick to each other and lumps will be formed. Due to the wheat and lentils, the curry thickens when it cools. So if you wish to serve it later, you should add more water and make it intense.
Ingredients for Gujarati Dal Dhokli Recipe:-
For lentils-
½ cup toor dal
1½ cups water
1 tsp oil
2 tbsp peanuts
For tempering of lentils-
1 tbsp desi ghee
1 tsp mustard
½ tsp cumin
1 dry chili, broken
pinch asafoetida
few curry leaves
1 tomato finely chopped
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1½ cups water
¼ tsp turmeric
¾ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
¼ tsp cumin powder
½ tsp coriander powder
¼ tsp garam masala
small piece jaggery
¾ tsp salt
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp coriander, finely chopped
For Dhokli-
1 cup wheat flour
¼ tsp turmeric
½ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
¼ tsp ajwain
½ tsp salt
2 tsp oil
½ cup water
How To Make Gujarati Dal Dhokli Recipe:
Make lentils-
1. To begin making the Dal Dhokli recipe, we have to first boil the Dal.
2. For that we have to take tur dal and wash it thoroughly.
3. Wash the dal till the water becomes completely clear. Because there is polish on the lentils. Due to which the taste is affected.
4. Now put the dal in the pressure cooker. A big bowl has to be kept in the dal itself and peanuts are also to be kept in it.
5. Now add 1½ cups of water to it and add salt, oil.
6. Now close the lid of the cooker and take 4-5 whistles.
7. Now the pressure of the cooker has to be released on its own. Meanwhile, considering the time, you have to prepare the ingredients for the tempering of the lentils.
8. When the pressure of the dal is released, mash the dal with a masher.
Fry the lentils-
9. To fry the lentils, you have to take a big pan or pan. Pour desi ghee in the pan and let it heat up.
10. Now mustard, cumin, dry broken red chili and asafoetida have to be put in hot ghee and crackled.
11. After this we have to put curry leaves in it and fry it.
12. Now add tomato and ginger garlic paste and fry till the tomatoes become soft.
13. When the tomatoes become soft, add turmeric, chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and garam masala and fry.
14. When the spices are ready to be roasted, add the cooked tur dal to it and also add 1½ cups more.
15. Now put boiled moong pods in it and also add some jaggery and salt in it.
16. Now let it cook.
17. Now this much your dal is cooking, so you have to prepare the dough for dhokli.
Make Dhokli-
18. To make Dhokli, we have to take wheat flour in a plate or bowl.
19. Add turmeric, Kashmiri red chili powder, carom seeds, salt and oil to the flour.
20. Now the flour, oil and spices have to be mixed well. When everything goes well.
21. Then you have to make a tight dough by adding water. So that it can easily be spread.
22. Now a dough has to be made with the dough. And now the dough has to be rolled like roti.
23. But it has to be prepared by making thick sized mercury from bread.
24. Now we have to cut the mercury in any shape. Now when the dal starts boiling, you have to put the chopped dhokli in the boiling dal.
25. Now cover and cook the dal for 10-15 minutes until the dhoklis are cooked.
26. When the dal dhokli is cooked well and ready, add coriander leaves to it and it is ready to eat. You can enjoy it with rice.
