Daisy made a friend at the Britechester Quad; His name is Farrokh, and he’s an exchange student from Al Simhara studying in the distinguished Communications program. They moved in together in a little share home in Evergreen Harbor. Farrokh disappears a lot at night, but as long as he doesn't object to Daisy hanging her knitting projects all over the place, she doesn’t mind.Â

Sometimes I think I’m going to rewatch Pushing Daisies and realize I’m just remembering the highlights or something and it’s not actually as great as I remember, and then I do, and actually no, I love it so much every time.
(I also have this thought process with Eastwick, and the Black Donnellys pilot but only the pilot.)
I love this colorful and extremely weird show.
#and with this note I am gonna go fall over and sleep for a bit#but I've been watcihng as I work/do things today#I appreciate the CW app for 1) allowing me to watch things free and 2) having this show in full#I would not pay for an entire app for this show despite my love but I WOULD be very sad if I lost access to it#just. really really love this show.

HBO Max New Releases: May 2021
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Do not adjust your WiFi settings. No, you are not experiencing a severe case of Deja Streaming-vu. HBO Max’s list of new releases for May 2021 are indeed highlighted by two very recent WarnerMedia hits.
For starters, Tenet finally makes its long-awaited HBO Max this month. Mark your calendars as May 1 is the day that you can finally watch Christopher Nolan’s latest cerebral thriller. Of course, Tenet already had its theatrical release, but obviously that was not really an option for many of us. In addition to Tenet, Wonder Woman 1984 makes its triumphant return to HBO Max this month on May 13. The Wonder Woman sequel already premiered on HBO Max this past December, now it’s getting a second run on the streamer.
In terms of newer originals, May is relatively light for HBO Max. The Jean Smart-starring comedy Hacks premieres on May 13. The latest Adventure Time: Distant Lands special arrives on May 20. May also contains two prominent finales with The Nevers closing out part 1 of its first season on May 15 and Mare of Easttown wrapping up its case on May 30.
It’s also not a big month for Warner Bros. theatrical releases. The only one to speak of is Those Who Wish Me Dead on May 14. Thankfully that will be augmented by some library titles on May 1 including The Interview, Jackie Brown, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Here is everything else to expect in May 2021.

My Comfort Movies
Hello! I was tagged by the absolutely lovely @zip00198704 to list my seven favorite comfort movies because, let’s be honest, we all need some comfort in these times! I tag @kateofthecanals @elixirbb @sister-winter73 @ladytp @maplesyrupao3 @daisies-cats-and-spacemen and anyone else who sees this!Â
1. Elvira: Mistress of the DarkÂ
Hilarious!Â
2. Practical MagicÂ
Strong sister bond and witchcraft? Sign me up! Also, I want. their. house in this movie!Â
3. The Witches of EastwickÂ
See above, but with a group of best friends! Also, I adore Cher!Â
4. BeetlejuiceÂ
Lydia Deetz is bae! When I was a baby child, this was the only (and I mean only) movie I ever wanted to rent from Blockbuster. My dear siblings indulged me.Â
5. The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (but only the Sleepy Hollow part)
Halloween is in my heart all year long and Bing Crosby’s voice makes me weak in the knees so this checks all the boxes!Â
6. ClueÂ
Another childhood favorite. Who knew a movie based off a board game could be so amazing? Plus Tim Curry!Â
7. Edward ScissorhandsÂ
Last but certainly not least. Kim and Edward foreva!Â

Hi Brooke! So Stranger Things has me in that 80s mood. What are some of your fav movies from that period (that Dustin bb and the boys would have grown up with)?
Ooooh ok. Stranger Things very obviously takes inspiration from Stand By Me, The Goonies, Ghostbusters, E.T., etc. Those weren’t my personal favorites growing up (E.T. scared the ever-living fuck out of me to tell the truth lol), but if you’re into Stranger Things, I’d definitely check those out.
When Harry Met Sally, Steel Magnolias, 9 to 5, Tootsie, Moonstruck, Sixteen Candles (pretty much any Molly Ringwald movie actually), The Witches of Eastwick, Coming to America, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Top Gun, Heathers, Dirty Dancing, The Princess Bride, Airplane!, Beetlejuice, Overboard, Parenthood, The Outsiders, Planes Trains and Automobiles, Scarface, The NeverEnding Story, Dead Poets Society, the Star Wars Trilogy (starts in the 70s but finishes in the 80s), Clue, St. Elmo’s Fire, Rain Man, Big, Annie, Grease 2, A Room with a View, Cocoon, Fatal Attraction, Can’t Buy Me Love, Driving Miss Daisy, Witness, Say Anything, An Office and a Gentleman, The Big Chill, Beaches, Splash, Mannequin, Sophie’s Choice (only watch if you want to rip your heart out of your chest), Field of Dreams, Romancing the Stone, Troop Beverly Hills, Terms of Endearment, The Natural, 3 Men and a Baby, Good Morning Vietnam, Mommie Dearest, The Fabulous Baker Boys, Private Benjamin, Purple Rain, Married to the Mob, Tequila Sunrise...
Okay, WOW. I did not realize I liked so many 80′s movies SO I went back and highlighted the more important films/the ones I like the most. Also, bear in mind that my taste in movies is probably more in line with Nancy Wheeler than Mike Wheeler lol
#the 80s was all....adventure movies lol you can literally just pick almost any one of these and it'll be Stranger Things-esque#Anonymous

Top 5 tv shows and top 5 happy memories.
I got sidelined by Christmas and writing but I return to asks!
( ask my top 5 anything )
top 5 tv shows
Some of this overlaps with comfort shows, so I'll try not to repeat myself:
- Eastwick. - Pushing Daisies. - Sports Night. - The Umbrella Academy. I don't know, this show just ate a corner of my brain. I try to put shows where I don't have to caveat a specific season, and with TUA it is mostly season one, but it's taken so much of my interest it also doesn't feel right to leave it off. - Firefly. Is it flawed? Very much so. But I love it still. River is still an all-time favorite character, it's still a favorite found family, and I just have too much love poured into it to not still adore it.
top 5 happy memories
- The beginning of this month. Finally getting to spend time with Beth again was something I needed badly. - Hanging out with you all that time ago. <3 - Seeing Wicked from the front row. - Rushing Rent for the first time. - The first snow after moving to Tennessee.
#memething#a lot of my happy memories involve people that make them harder to be fully happy about these days but.#there has been a lot of good.

Top 5 comfort shows or characters? Whichever is easier!
Comfort show! Because I can't think of any characters I'd single out for it.
1. Eastwick. I will forever be bitter about this show's cancellation, but everything else about it just gives me so much joy. All the relationships on this show are so good, especially between the three main characters, I love the mystery of Darryl and how his relationship with them unfolds, it's just. so good. I have watched this show so, so many times and I never tire of it.
2. Pushing Daisies. It's so bright! It's so happy and lovely and Kristen Chenoweth is there and Chuck and Ned's relationship is one of the few main relationships that I really adore, and it's just -- so good? It makes me happy every time. And hungry. But mostly happy.
3. Sports Night. This is partly associations as much as it is the show itself, I think, but the show itself is also great, and I love the found family dynamic of it. Even the serious stuff resolves and gets happy again, and it makes me laugh. So much of this show has entered my personal lexicon (there is a very palpable zone, my friend, and I am in it). I literally wore out five of the six discs on my box set (the last one was too sad to rewatch as often). It's such a good place for me, and sometimes I just need to go to it.
4. Burn Notice. Honestly, certain seasons of a few USA network shows could fit in here. White Collar, season one and two. Suits, season one. Royal Pains, season one. Psych is less season-specific but I'm less likely to seek it out, more likely to just leave it on if I see it. I single out Burn Notice for two reasons: one, it's the one I stuck with longest -- I'm pretty good with the first four seasons, and I didn't have a massive break with the show, I just kind of drifted away, while on the other hand I got really angry at White Collar after season 2's ending; and two, somehow Michael's voice overs makes this show particularly soothing to me. I'm just really fond of this show and that's never dimmed.
5. Breaking the Magician's Code: Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed. ...Look, I don't know what to tell you, I'm a nerd. And this show was a default for me for quite some time there while it was on Netflix. It's interesting, it's easy to tune in and out of, and it makes a fun watch.
Bonus nod to Ted Lasso, which I've just seen recently but can already tell is gonna be on this list at some point, and Galavant, which is just a joy every time and would be #6.

top 5 tv characters
1. Abigail Hobbs from Hannibal. Normally even though I number these things the ranking are still pretty fluid but no, no, Abigail is #1, constantly. I just. I love her so much. I love her desperate grasps for control and her trusting the wrong people and her survival instinct and how her trauma is handled and fuck it, man, I even love how canon keeps trying to drag her back long after she stops having a narrative place. I mean I hate it, because let the poor girl rest for fuck’s sake, if we ever get season 4 please just leave her out of it; but I also love it, because that feels like such a mirror to her whole entire life, and please never leave her out of it, please let her keep being the shadow over Hannibal and Will’s relationship, let her stand in for all their destructive potential together and apart and I just. Hi, I love Abigail Hobbs, I can literally talk for thousands of words/actual hours about how much if people let me.
2. River Tam from Firefly. I know, I know there are issues with Firefly and her character, I know this logically, but every time people talk about River being a bad character I have to scroll by muttering to myself because River is legitimately one of my favorite characters of all time. I love her arc, I love how she finds a place for herself and starts to come to terms with what happened to her and faces this stand-in for what she could have become and comes out the other end alive and in control. I love her trauma, I love her relationships with the people around her, and if she is not where my thing about traumatized physics started she is definitely a major reason it has continued to be such a big thing for me.
3. Diego Hargreeves from The Umbrella Academy. Consider Ben and Allison extremely close runner-ups and honestly Allison should really win if I’m trying to keep both seasons in mind, because I preferred Diego’s season one story over his season two story a lot.... But I love this ridiculous vigilante and his pretending not to care and his actual caring nature a lot.
4. Chidi Anagonye from The Good Place. I love everyone on the Good Place, but Chidi is my favorite by a really long shot. A little of it is the anxiety because hoo boy have I never related to a character this much, but he’s also just -- such an interesting character, with such great growth over most of the series, and I love everything about his role on the show.
5. Amy Pond from Doctor Who. Can we tell that I just really like traumatized women? I just really like traumatized women, especially when they have an interesting arc of dealing with that trauma. I like how Amy’s issues are handled, I love her abandonment problems, her confidence, her intelligence, her desperation in hard moments, and I loooove her relationship with Rory, who really deserves to share this spot with her, to be honest.
Honorable mentions: I love Peter Burke to like. ridiculous extents but I’m trying to stick to people who I at least love their entire run on their show, if not their entire show (I still have not watched Who past the Pond’s departure, I keep meaning to), and I really only love the first two seasons of White Collar. Ditto Michael Westen -- I love the first four-ish seasons of Burn Notice but haven’t seen the rest, but god he’s such a great character. I sincerely considered adding Ned from Pushing Daisies, because I do love him, just not quite as much; ditto Kat Gardener from Eastwick.  Also trying to avoid characters who are extremely minor in their canon and who most of my love for has to do with their relationship to others, or both James Watson from Sanctuary and Jack Murdock from Daredevil would absolutely belong on here.
