Another good day! My back is very sore and swollen because I beat it up with the massage ball last night. I took some aspirin for the inflammation and used some bio freeze on it today which helped, I think. Fingers crossed it’s a bit better in the morning.

Stayed totally on track today with food & activity. Need to have a little more water before bed. Hoping shark week eases up tomorrow.. I’m ready to not feel bloated anymore!

My Morning: 

My morning was a bit iffy. I woke up early, yet again. I mean, yeah, I’ll have to get used to it for school but, school hasn’t started yet. Haha! Not much happened this morning. I was mostly jamming to Kpop and getting ready to see @kpopoof

My Afternoon: 

Let me say, my afternoon was fairly fun up until about 4ish maybe. From about 11 to 3:30 maybe, I was at @kpopoof ‘s! I honestly had the best time with her. We jammed to Seventeens new song (Stream ‘Hit’ NOW!!!!), cried a bit over our biases, looked at Taemin’s “Slave” lyrics, and then just honestly watched try not to laugh vids. News flashed: we laughed and cried a bit from laughing too hard. We played Guess The Kpop Song, and Kiss, Marry, Kill (Male Groups). Overall I  had a good time. @kpopoof and I matched today!!!! We both wore Monsta X shirts. Also, might I mention, I teased her a lot with Daehwi. 

Now, for the second part of my afternoon, I basically helped out with VBS. I was thinking that I’d be helping with the older kids but nooo, I had to help the little kids. Now, I don’t really care for kids in general BUT, I do have a small soft spot for them. But when it comes to teaching them, my anxiety goes through the roof. I had to teach these kids how to make simple wooden bead bracelets. They were barely paying attention and I honestly wanted to just walk out. But I didn’t. I helped them out and had patience. The only fun thing with VBS was playing kickball. Granted, I couldn’t be aggressive because of the little ones. But overall, it was really fun. My cousin kept trying to kick me so I’d kick him back. 

I definitely liked the first part of my afternoon more. 

My Night: 

Like normal, my night is pretty bland. I’m writing this, listening to kpop, and just trying to relax. My cat (Bella), is asleep at the foot of my bed and it’s honestly adorable. 

Usually, at night, I try to take time and reflect on my day, or I’ll look at Kpop memes or make stuff for my fan accounts, which I’ll put below) It’s currently about 8:50pm as I write this. The sunset has already passed and I managed to see it on my way home. 

This is how my night will be like for now. So I guess that's the end of my daily recap?

Today was pretty mundane, and I enjoyed it, even when my inner voice is always attempting to find some fault with something, anything, really. I woke up in Crystals house, and I drove her to work. On the way to work, I don’t really recall our conversation much but I remember ruminating on some thoughts I shouldn’t have while driving the car. Focusing wholeheartedly on the other person who is talking will help. When all else fails, share something, a story, an interest, a thought, and relate. I realized I inspire a calmness around others, I am a fun person to be around. I realized I am always trying to find ways to find a way to “fix me”, I’m always looking for ways that I am lacking. ENOUGH of that. There are things I want to improve on, but I can reflect on the “right” things as well. Everyday, I want to list three things I enjoyed and like about myself, something I’m realizing about myself. I dropped Crystal off at work, and she shared I should bring her a Chick-Fila sandwich. I didn’t think much into it, but I decided I would because I knew it would a nice thing to do for a friend. I am someone that is giving, I know that for sure! Sharing gifts, experiences, and information is my love language. I want to express my love language more often. It is how I connect to others. I love seeing my loved ones smile. I enjoy the creativity that comes with thinking of a gift that I know they would love. 

I left Kona, and headed home to hang out with Manas for a bit. It was cool. We chatted about our nights, talked about homes, animals, etc. It’s always cool talking to her even though my inner voice sometimes tells me we aren’t vibing like I feel we should. I tend to compare our best friendship with other best friends. I forget however that we live with each other, and i have lowkey clung on to her. I am searching for my own identity, exploring my own interests because I really don’t want to be an attached obsessive person. Watching Toy Story 4 last night really opened my eyes to a thought. Let go. Let go. Let go of the idea that people are yours. Here I go again though always thinking something should be a different way. It will be the death of me. 

I went to run a few errands today as well. I filled up our water jug, dropped off the donated clothing items to Goodwill, and headed to Home Depot and B Willow to pick up some plants. I was enjoying it, found myself drifting away a bit sometimes. I like doing things alone, but I sometimes have to shake the feeling that it would be nice to have someone to do things with like this occasionally. There is nothing wrong with doing things alone. There is nothing wrong with doing things alone, especially because I have friends that love me. I have friends that love me. I am loved. I am love. guess I could invite someone too...haha I am slowly building towards developing new friendships in Baltimore city. I would like to create a home space that includes gatherings with friends in the living room. The thought of it scares me a little bit, but I know it is because it means being vulnerable in a sense. I am Sudanese! We are hospitable people. We are built for this. Maybe I can invite some people over the crib this week? I can plan a night with food, games, and laughs! Just good vibes. 

I ended my night by seeing The Last Black Man in San Francisco. It was a beautiful ass movie! Wow. I was so taken back by the visuals in that movie. The colors were so vibrant, the detail was so well thought out. The acting was superb. Jaime Fells fought long and hard to keep the home that was lost by grandfather in San Fran due to the effects of gentrification. He fights, fights, fights, alongside his loyal best friend, until he comes to the conclusion, after a beautiful conversation with his aunt, that his fight must end. He sees no end to this battle. He sees that there is nothing for him in San Fran. The city has systemically got rid of its black people.  He leaves the city, and boards a boat to God knows where. I found it very interesting that he boarded a boat as opposed to a bus. Jaime is leaving the life he always known in San Fran for an opportunity to create  a better life. He no longer chose to hold onto the notion that this was his sole identity. The movie did a great job of highlight that, it chose to drive the message home that “we are not one thing”.  I loved that line. We are not one thing. We are never to be confined into a box. We can choose to be anything, anytime.

Recap of Feb 13th

- woke up at 6:50 and got to campus at 9:00

- may or may not have skipped my first two lectures of the day to study for my chem midterm....👀

- went to my last two lectures of the day (because I'd feel guilty if I skipped all my classes) and studied until the midterm

- oof.

- Got home at 19:30, ate dinner and admittedly was an unproductive blob

- Finally got my act together around 22:30 for a lab tomorrow which took FOREVER.

- I decided that enough was enough of lab prep at 0:30 (I only had a little bit left anyways). Honestly if I hadn't been such a blob after dinner I could've finished it all but...well, just gotta do better next time.

- 1:00AM bedtime!

Goals for tomorrow

- finish the goddamn lab prep before the lab

- WORK during that 2h break I have in between lab and lecture

- stay awake during my afternoon lecture

- do as much math and physics homework as I possibly can before 23:00, and use the forest app to keep myself accountable

My Morning:

I actually slept in again! I barely woke up during the night, and my dream from the other night didn’t continue. But I did have a somewhat weirder one. They meant nothing obviously, but still, it was weird. Overall, my morning was okay. I cuddled with my cat, took a shower, then just got ready for the day. I’m going to hang out with my boyfriend tomorrow morning!

My Afternoon: 

My afternoon was okay. Today was the last day of VBS. It was actually better than the first day. The second day tops all, to be quite honest. We had a water balloon fight today. My cousins and I kept going for each other. My four-year-old cousin got me a couple times. I got hit in the small of my back and oh God did it hurt. But overall, I had fun. I mostly talked with my cousin (The oldest brother) because he wasn’t the crazy one, haha! Although, he and I have always talked, so I’d say we’re somewhat close. We’ve both changed, A LOT. 

Overall, my afternoon as okay. 

My Night: 

As usual, my morning is pretty dull. I felt pretty productive today, with doing so much writing. Usually, I don’t write this much in a day. Critical Beauty by Pentagon is playing I’m jamming out haha!! I’ll probably scroll around on my spam acc. ( @vernonology1 )

Here’s yesterday! I kept looking at my calories and assuming I had forgotten to input these. It was weird. I know my lunch was super light since it was a light salad, but I had planned several snacks because I’m just trying to not waste the salad. My snacks were a banana, a KIND popped salted caramel bar, and 1oz kroger turkey jerky. Potstickers are also a really calorie-efficient meal but I made them mainly because they were easy. After I hit the elliptical to finish my steps, I ended up eating a bunch more potstickers to fill me up. I’m definitely more of a four meal person. 

This was a good day. I read a lot and I feel like I got back on top of things and my body felt better. I had definitely either added some body weight or a little bit of real weight and I feel like I’m kicking that off now so that’s good!

I also think it’s time I bump up my water goal. I had been slowly increasing it and now I’m moving it from 72 to 96. That’s a little more than half my body weight and a good place to be.
