Macy’s Rising Star Voting Guide

Computer Games have entered a contest that runs from May 10th through July 3rd; If they win this contest, they will be the OPENING ACT for the worldwide streamed iHeart Radio Music Festival, which means BIG EXPOSURE for the band. We have the power to make this happen for Chuck and Darren via a combined voting effort. Here is how you can help:

#1: MACY’S IHEART RADIO VOTING PAGE

The official Macy’s iHeart Radio Rising Star page is a quick way to submit a spurt of 50 votes to the band. You are given the option to submit 50 votes max per Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/Google+/iHeart Radio account you have. That means that if you have one of all five of these types of accounts, you can submit a total of 250 votes per day for Computer Games. Simply refresh the page to log into/submit votes with another account! If you are mobile, don’t open the page through the twitter app! You’ll experience problems! Open it through Safari/Google/preferred mobile browser.

You will know that your votes went through when you see this:

Go ahead and share the post for an extra vote!

Every new voting day begins at 12AM EST and ends at 11:59PM EST.

If you have more than one of each of these accounts (i.e. 3 Twitter accounts and 2 Instagrams) that means that’s another 50 votes max per day, per account, that you can submit! USE ALL YOUR ACCOUNTS EVERY DAY. THIS INCLUDES SAVED ACCOUNTS.

BUT THERE’S MORE YOU CAN DO

You have a max of 50 votes each day per account, but that’s just the easy voting numbers you can give the band! When you submit those votes, you’re also being entered into a sweepstakes to attend this Music Festival. That’s where the entry limit comes in. YOU CAN STILL SUBMIT MORE VOTES ON YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA; they just aren’t entries for the sweepstakes!

#2: TWITTER

On Twitter, there are three ways for your votes to count towards this contest. Your tweet MUST INCLUDE #RisingStar plus either Computer Games, #ComputerGames or @weplaycomputers, and must also be tweeted from a PUBLIC account. This applies for all retweets. If your account isn’t public, none of your tweets or retweets will count.

To clarify, your tweet can say:

“Sending in my Computer Games vote for #RisingStar”

“Sending in my #ComputerGames vote for #RisingStar”

“Sending in my @weplaycomputers vote for #RisingStar”

“I just dropped a jar of pickles, whoops. 😳 #ComputerGames #RisingStar”

AND ALL OF THESE TWEETS WOULD COUNT, as long as your account is public.

You can tweet and retweet an unlimited amount of times, so have fun with it!

If you don’t mind it, go ahead and like this tweet as well so other fans know that it’s okay for you to send votes to your mentions instead of spamming up their friends’ twitter timelines:

#3: TWEETDECK

Remember your saved accounts? They still have more use! If you have saved Twitter accounts available, there is a web application called Tweetdeck that allows you to be logged into multiple accounts at once and tweet/retweet from them simultaneously. I highly recommend that you use this application for mass voting efforts. It’s super easy to use as well!

First, go to tweetdeck.twitter.com and log into an account. I have my personal account as my main account and the many other accounts I run were added on for easy access.

Once you’ve added all your accounts to Tweetdeck, you can start tweeting, selecting certain ones or all of them:

You can even retweet from all the accounts simultaneously with little effort:

So put those saved accounts to good use and let’s rack up some votes!

#4: INSTAGRAM/FACEBOOK

To put it simply, if you can share it and post it publicly, you should. Just make sure to include #RisingStar plus Computer Games, @weplaycomputers or #ComputerGames somewhere in the post.

FINALLY

It’s important to note that the contest has two voting periods.

Voting Period One: 5/10/2017 at 6:00am ET - Voting on Top 10 Begins 6/4/2017 at 11:59pm ET - Voting on Top 10 Ends

Voting Period Two: 6/12/2017 at 6:00am ET - Voting on Final 5 Begins 7/2/2017 at 11:59pm ET - Voting on Final 5 Ends

Winner Announced: 7/5/2017

WE HAVE TO KEEP COMPUTER GAMES IN THE TOP FIVE TO MAKE IT TO VOTING PERIOD TWO. After voting period one ends, the votes will reset back to 0, putting us at a fair playing field once again.

This contest is a long one, so we don’t recommend burning yourself out right away, but if we want to give this opportunity to Computer Games, we have to be persistent and keep pushing for more votes! You will have us as cheerleaders the entire time and we have every faith in our fellow Gamers!

Darren Criss – Calendar 2017

Hey guys!

Since I haven't seen any Darren calendars for this year, I decided to made one, woops. They are inspired by @gleeddicted​ ones and are 1024x768 (Google said it's the most common size, but I plan on doing a bigger version soon, I just wanted to put this out asap)

If you find anything wrong on them, or want to give me a shoutout on proportions or something, any suggestions... This is my first time doing this, so... My askbox is always open!

There are two versions of them: one starting on Sunday, and another one starting on Monday, since everyone has a preference on which day to start the week.

Ugh. Only yesterday I saw a dude from Supernatural trying to peddle a shirt (for charity at least) that had a giant picture of his face front and centre. Do they not get how wonderful subtle nerdery is? 

Also it does seem to be a predominately male impulse to have other people wear your face.
