Week 146, Day 1016.

Last week, I pieced together the remaining parts of my ‘Methodology and Methods’ chapter and submitted it to my supervisors for review. It is far from perfect, but the first draft is done and I have to move onto the next stage of my thesis. But, before moving on, I really needed a break and so spent the weekend visiting my other halves family in Ripon, a small quintessential English city.

I must have been quite burnt out, because even a long weekend was not enough for me to feel rested enough to face my PhD again on Monday. I, therefore, also took yesterday off and feel sort of put together today to commence tackling my next chapter. In fact, I’ll be working on two chapters in conjunction with one another so as to not lose my mind as one of them is pure analysis and one a descriptive style chapter. My goal for today, aside from this blog post, is to create a daily plan for the rest of this month! I did this for June and found it really worked for me.

However, last month also taught me the importance of rest and having something to look forward to. As I only have 38 weeks left until my first deadline, I am trying to keep my time off to a minimum, but sometimes that can be counterproductive as thinking requires energy. 💡 Therefore, I have a few events and trips planned in here and there over the next couple of months. For one of those, my other half and I are taking on the Cats Protection 4 Peaks Challenge whereby we will hike four of the highest UK mountains in the space of 24 months to raise money for the charity, and are taking on our first peak in August. If you would like to sponsor us, that’ll be pawsome.  🐾
