Dear Daft Punk Tumblr

Stop shipping daft slash. It’s vile, it’s uncomfortable, and these are real living people with families.

Please ship FICTIONAL CHARACTERS instead. Not everything you consume has to have characters to ship, too.

I hate that this even has to be said, but it’ becoming a problem. People I know, including me, have been lead to believe daft slash was okay at first, but we were educated and changed for the better. Not only is this ship harmful to daft punk themselves, but it deliberately goes against their wishes. It makes them uncomfortable.

Drew this today because today was the official Daft Punk event in Mexico, they dropped coordinates on Spotify and they promised a treasure hunt via Snapchat with AR but it was a total flop xD horribly organized, welp.

Here's Keiko with Thomas's helmet and Akiko with Guy's helmet, I drew this while I was at Starbucks and thought hey why dont draw them with their favorite beverage :3

Daft Punk has been a great source of inspiration for me, particularly Keiko's story. The music has been both drawing and writing fuel for me and the robots have been hugely influential to the story and made me decide on writing a mecha story.

Daft Punk said something to me that blew me away. They said they wanted to do an album as if the internet never existed. I said, "oh, old school!" It was certainly the most rewarding to have been involved in a project that was so monumental to my life. Winning my first Grammy was amazing to me. I was listening to some edm and dubstep stuff with my buddies that we used to listen to back in the day. We were like, LOL this is so much fun. But it's also pretty dated.

Later I checked the release dates. It's all 2010, 2011, 2012... in other words: it's all pre-RAM.

Look, I know I am probably biased, but I truly believe RAM changed the entire game. And that change has still not been reversed, more than ten years later. Music does not sound the same.

Daft Punk are visionaries. Oracles. Marvels.

Give life back to music, indeed.
