The Witcher Comment Crawl Guide to Crawling

How it works 

The Witcher Comment Crawl will provide you with:

An event post with a list of fanworks.

A designated window of time (7-10 days) in which to read, review and comment on the fanworks. (The goal here is to center the community around the same thing at the same time!)

Daily recommendation posts of each fanwork during the event window that contain talking points and ideas for how to start your comment. 

A form for you to submit comments for fanworks where you don't have a social media account or wish to comment anonymously.

Optional achievement badges! You can claim and share your badges wherever you want. Leave a comment on a fanwork, claim a theme-participant badge! Follow a new creator you discover from the Crawl? Claim a badge!

An optional spreadsheet with links and details of all the fanworks. Tumblr feeds go by really quickly and we don’t want you to miss anything! 

An optional spreadsheet to keep track of the number of comments you leave every event, which you can use to claim more achievement badges!

If you don’t have the time or ability to comment during the official event window, that’s okay! Please leave comments even if it’s been a day, a week, or a month after the event has concluded. 

Our ultimate goal is to provide you a list of amazing fanworks so you can leave feedback for the creators and have fun. Read! Review! Comment! Share the love! 💬❤️

Code of Conduct 

We understand that not every canon, character, ship, or characterization and trope will be to everybody's tastes. 

Be respectful and courteous in your comments.

If there is a canon or character or pairing that you don’t like, you are not obligated to read it or look at it. DO NOT leave them a negative comment.

Do not leave unsolicited constructive criticism or critiques.    

Do not leave racist, homophobic, transphobic, etc. remarks in your comment.

Do not leave comments along the lines of ‘I hate this ship but like the art.’

Do not ask the creator for sequels or give the creator unsolicited prompts. We are focusing on the individual fanworks only. If you are interested in more fanworks, look at the creator’s feeds and bookmarks to discover more of what they like and make. 

If the mods discover you have left a hateful or character/ship-bashing comment you will be blocked from viewing the community’s posts. 

Creators are not obligated to reply to comments.

They have already gifted us with their fanwork. They may have any number of reasons why they can’t or won’t respond to comments.

Some creators might not know how to respond to comments and will be too shy to engage. That’s their prerogative. 

Other creators may be thrilled and might even answer any questions you have about their work. You never know what you might learn! Always be respectful when you ask questions in your comments.

Posted onto the city’s announcement broad with thin pieces of tape on all four of its edges, this ‘poster’ was just dull and uninteresting in the eyes of many...but it would catch your interest?

OOC

The Silvermoon Library guild was founded by the mun of Iria Daerienne. Who used the guild as a broad platform for new writers in our community, to share their works and to host fun events that brought people together. 

But sadly after experiencing a difficult phase of her life, the library stopped its regular public services/events, but now... we are doing our best to bring back its old services once more!

SEEKING (OOC&IC INFO):

Assistants/Librarians (OOC&IC Jobs)

*The job of Assistants and Librarians are quite similar. Their IC jobs are what real Librarians would do...helping the users of the library in every way they can, but when OOC...*

IC: Helping users of the library with your own storyline of being a librarian *Part-time or Full time.* (Rp)

OOC: Helps with the running of the library’s Tumblr and Twitter page>Seeks out new writers daily and help broadcast their works>Reblogs existing RP events>In game officers.

Scholars (OOC&IC Jobs)

*To be a scholar within the library, you do not have to join the guild. Just please message anyone in the staff group your Tumblr link, and we will broadcast it for you and follow you so we may help you whenever you are in need.*

IC: The choice is all yours!

OOC: Lets the library broadcast their works> Might be asked to speak in events>Just be whatever you want to be!

Professors (OOC&IC Jobs)

*Teachers...mentors.. of any field are welcome to use the library to expand their knowledge or to seek out students. (Rp partners) Now looking at the OOC side of the title ‘Professor’...they also do not have to join the guild to get their work broadcast by us.*

IC: Teach! and continue on your studies! (If you are seeking for an idea, please do message the planning team.)

OOC: Lets the library broadcast their works> Are welcome to hold lessons within the guild or host public teachings with the library’s full support> Mentor for newcomers>Might be asked to speak in events.

Planning Team (OOC&IC Jobs)

*In game the Planning Team members can be whatever they want to be and can hold the title of Assistant, Librarian, Scholar or Professor while on the team, because their jobs is mostly OOC.*

OOC: Create and plan events> Helps with the running of the library’s social pages> Offers help to events that are in need> Are welcome to lead their own events>Offers ways to improve the library services>In game officers.

Willing to help new or struggling rpers/writers

Willing to work with a team and maybe other guilds. ( For Assistants. Librarians and Planning Team.)

Unafraid to ask for help whenever in need.

Willing to accept suggestions to better up events. (For Planning Team)

*And a personality that’s ready to deal with an inexperienced leader, to give him suggestions or comments... on how to do his job better.*

Others

The library is planning to open up three new discord servers...

A public server for anyone, who is in need of a heart to heart chat or wish to give the library staffs... event ideas, suggestions, and names of new writers or characters. Allowing us to help them start their wonderful journey of roleplaying in WRA.

The second server is for guilds, who are willing to maybe work or host events with the library and other active guilds. *I’m not sure about this yet, because there may be already a server open for active guilds to chat in...and if that is the case..I want in! PLEASE.*

The last server is for the planning team and the members of the library. *This will be a private server...I will talk to members who are interested one by one.*

Five Facts

Once you get this, it’d be super rad if you’d share 5 random facts about yourself. Then, pass this on to some of your followers! 

(These probably won’t be as interesting as yours, @unabashedrebel, but I will do my best. :P)

-I love books. I can’t write up to my own standards unless I’m reading one. Which is killer since its difficult finding things that catch my interest. I always welcome book recommendations in my inbox so if you have any please come scream at me to read them. 

-When I was younger, much to my mother’s chagrin,  I taught my brother how to unlock the door of the house to get outside by showing him how to stand on one of those humongous bouncing balls to unfasten the chain lock. Needless to say he took the opportunity to go outside and run around naked. Freaked my mother out. She never knew it was my fault until like two Thanksgivings ago. 

-I used to have a little Invader Zim diary I filled with HTML codes instead of personal thoughts and feelings.

-I’m very shy and generally only talk to people if they talk to me first. Even then its hard to accept that someone might actually want to talk to me. D: So I’m not being a bitch, I’m just really shy.

-I’ve done two keg stands in my life. The first time I puked. Do not recommend.

24: How would your OC react if they got humiliated by someone in a group of people?

Considering he’s constantly humiliated for his virginity, he takes it in stride. He has argued back once or twice, but he usually ignores the talk. He’s better than that.
