I think you'll find this post very useful . Farya Faraji is a Canadian Iranian music scholar and composer with great knowledge of Greek music history, Greek history in general, and the Greek language. He is loved by the Greeks a lot! His Greek English accent and Greek accent are nearly perfect, and he pokes fun at Greeks a lot in an endearing way. It makes me think he probably grew up close to Greeks of diaspora, being the "ethnic" kids.* For his compositions he works with Greek musicians and composers and lot, and he also bases his research on various scholars, including Greek ones.

(*Thats just my speculation. Greeks and Iranians lived segregated in Canada only 1-2 gens ago along with other "ethnics" so many from the Mediterranean and the Middle East lived together)

More recommendations:

These Greeks play the instruments the "Greek way" opposite the Western way (you will understand what I mean if you see the styles Farya analyzes in his video. I swear I am not being divisive here, there is distinction in the styles).

Daemonia Nymphe (@daemonianymphe-official) are a bit more modern in their compositions but hold the ancient element still. They've melodised many ancient hymns.
