Home
(So I’m assuming you played Violet! I played Scarlet, so Ill try to keep their differences unmentioned for simplicity’s sake(like the academy name, I believe it’s different depending on which game you play?))
Arven x Fem! Sibling! Reader
Genre: Fluff, Slight Angst, Comfort, Siblings
Summary: Your journey through Paldea with your older brother brings not only friends and new experiences, but a devastating truth.
(Listen to Home and Home II, both by Dotan, while writing this)
~~~~~~
It was the first day of a new school year, and you were finally able to join the Academy. You were excited, your Fidough running on your heels as you both ascended the Academy steps. You’d met Nemona on your way to the Academy, and you both shared several battles on the way there, nearly making you late.
Unlike Arven, you loved battling, almost as much as Nemona. Battles were thrilling to watch if you were involved.
Your first few weeks weren’t too eventful, simply getting used to your teachers and other staff, meeting new trainers, and sharing classes with your new friends.
Then the Treasure Hunt began, and while the Gyms sounded exciting, you naturally followed the path Arven took.
You had witnessed the heartbroken, lost look on Arven’s face when he came home with Mabostiff hurt nearly beyond repair. So when he told you he’d found a way to possibly help, you jumped at the chance to heal your brothers beloved pokemon.
With your help, Mabostiff was back to perfect health due to the Herba Mysticas, and your now Dachbun couldn’t be any more ecstatic to have her childhood friend back.
You still found time to do the gyms and fight your way through Team Star bases while helping Arven, and it wasn’t long before your calls with your father, Professor Turo, led you, your brother, and your two new friends to Area Zero.
Area Zero was… beautifully terrifying. Pokémon lived in what you would call a paradise, yet the strange beasts called Paradox Pokémon began to grow in numbers as you traveled downwards.
You got all the way to the bottom, stories having been shared along the way, up until a point where your friends had to fight off a hoard of Paradox pokemon to give you a chance to rush on ahead.
Nothing could’ve prepared you for what you’d learned next.
You were ecstatic to see your father again as you entered the room, immediately running up to hug him before he could speak. But something was off, he wasn’t warm or soft like a person should be.
An apologetic smile met your confused look, “Turo” setting a hand on your shoulder.
“There’s something you need to know, (Y/n).”
You were close to sobbing by the end of the explanation of what happened to your father, your face buried into the lab coat to hide your tears. A cold hand settled atop the crown of your head, both comforting and unsettling as it simply sat there.
Eventually, Robot Turo managed to get you to let go, guiding you to an elevator as he explained what needed to be done.
The time machine your father built needed to be shut off, and Robot Turo would be forced to fight back against you due to the defensive mechanism built within.
The book Arven held onto now used to activate the machine, the battle against Robot Turo was grueling. Difficult against a team full of Paradox Mons.
But you won, and Robot Turo began to crystallize and glitch, one side wanting to help you, the other creepily going along with the programming.
It wasn’t long before your brother and friends joined you. All it took was one look at your crying face to tell Arven his hunches were correct.
After a battle between ‘Raidons, where yours came out victorious, the time machine whirred faster.
“Papa!” You cried out, running a few steps past ‘Raidon, tears in your eyes. Even if this Turo was a robot, you couldn’t help but still see your father, even when the robot’s eyes and body were slightly crystalized.
You felt Arven step up next to you, a frown on his face. Robot Turo lifted his hand in a wave goodbye, his body lifting into the time machine, most likely never to be seen by you again.
The night back at the Academy dorms was quiet, even when Nemona and Penny had tried to cheer you guys up on the road back.
You watched as Mabostiff and Dachbun curled up together in Arven’s dorm room, seated at the kitchen counter.
You turned at the clink of a bowl, turning to see your favorite food being pushed towards you.
“Thanks, Arven.” You murmured, offering a smile as you began to eat.
“‘Course.” He sits next to you, glancing over to Mabostiff and Dachbun. “…Would you like to sleep in my dorm tonight? I’ve got some extra bedding.”
You remember when you and Arven would sleep on the floor together when you were younger, usually on nights where one of you couldn’t sleep.
“That sounds nice.”
Arven x Female Reader: Panic Attack
You have never witnessed Arven undergoing panic attacks before until one day. You’ve had your share of panic attacks before and know how to help him.
Arven couldn’t rid his mind of the fact that his dad, Professor Turo, is deceased. It had overwhelmed him; making him lose focus in class as well as losing sleep. He broke down at one point when he was trying to sleep.
Just one day, as class was over for the day, he was pulled into Director Clavell’s office. Clavell had explained to Arven that the teachers were noticing he was losing focus on assignments and that they all were worried something was wrong. Arven told him the same thing he told the teachers.
“It takes time, Master Arven,” Clavell said, “recovering from losing a loved one is never easy. It’s very understandable. If you need some time away from class to try to recover, I can manage that for you.”
“Yes please, sir.” Arven said, voice cracking. He put a hand up to his face to shield his tears. Director Clavell grabs a tissue box and hands it to Arven. Arven takes one out and dabs it on his face. “Go rest now, Master Arven,” Clavell said, “take as much time as you need. You can return to class anytime.” “Thank you, sir.” Arven says as he gets up and leaves the office.
You hadn’t seen Arven in class for three days now and you we’re wondering why. You noticed before he took some time out of class that he hadn’t been focusing all that well; noticing he had bags under his eyes. You didn’t want to disturb him in case he was still grieving his father’s death. But you grew concerned. You just had to see Arven.
After class, you decided to go to his dorm. He wasn’t there. You decided maybe he’s at the lighthouse on Poco Path. You make your way there. I hope he’s okay and nothing happened to him, you thought. As you approached the lighthouse, you knock. You listen for a response. Instead of a single word, you hear what sounded like rapid breathing. Then you hear Mabosstiff bark on the other side.
You go ahead and open the door to see the dog; his face looked scared. “Buddy, what’s happening?” you asked. Mabosstiff looks over at the heavily breathing Arven laying on the couch and whines. You walk over to the couch and put a hand on Arven’s shoulder. “Arven?” you calmly try to get his attention. He doesn’t answer. He continues to breathe rapidly. You knew what was going on with him; he was having a panic attack!
You carefully sit Arven up and hold him in your arms, rubbing his back and whispering soothingly in his ear, “Shhhh….it’s okay, Arven. There, there. I’m here for you. It’s okay. Breathe slowly.” Arven’s breathing instantly went from rapid to calm. You could feel him wrap his arms around you; breathing steadily in your ear. “There you go, sweetheart,” you whisper soothingly, “there you go. That’s it.”
Arven took a big breath, officially relaxed. “Thank you, (Y/N),” he whispers, “thank you.” You smiled, knowing Arven’s feeling better. Arven then said, “I’m sorry you had to see that. I’ve just been through a lot since hearing my dad died.” “I know, sweetheart,” you said, still in a comforting tone, “I know it must have been hard.” “It was,” Arven said, “that’s why Director Clavell allowed me to spend some time out of school to recover from it.”
“Ah.” you nodded in understanding. Arven then finished off with, “Though since you came in to ease me of my grief and my panic attack, I feel better. Though I could use a nap…” he breaks into a yawn, “…since I’ve lost too much sleep. Will you stay in here to nap with me, (Y/N)? Pretty please?”
You had noticed his face when you came in; his eyes looking bloodshot along with sagging under his eyes. You really wanted to be there for him, so you agreed to taking a nap with him. Both of you lay down on the couch and slowly drift off to sleep in each other’s arms.
Arven recovered beautifully.
Director Clavell had called Y/N into his office. She was in her dorm room at the time that she was called and she flinched at her name being heard at the loudspeakers.
Instead of wasting any time, Y/N decided to go on ahead and enter the Director’s office.
“Director?” Y/N asked, opening the door to his office. The Director was standing by a pile of papers on the many computer desks that were seen before his official office desk.
He turned to look at her before smiling. “Y/N, I am glad to see you.” He greeted, he kept his hands close to his side.
“You wanted to see me?” Y/N asked, looking around the small room. She always felt anxious being in his office, even when the Director was a fantastic principal of the academy.
“Yes,” The Director began. “There was something I have been meaning to tell you for a while now and now that we have the required information… I can now inform you of said information.”
“Okay?” Y/N stood up straight, she was now more confused than ever about what was truly going on.
“Your biological father, Professor Turo, has come back from Area Zero.” The Director went on. “He is situated in his lab on Poco Path. I am sure you can take Miraidon there and greet him.”
Y/N was taken back by the Director's calm reply. “Wait…” Y/N began, she looked around the room desperately. Was this a joke? “How is that possible? You do know that my dad is Mr. Jacq right?” Y/N chuckled with a bit of uncertainty and anxiousness.
The Director simply shook his head, “No, Y/N. Mr. Jacq took you in, he has presented himself to be your father for some time now. Nobody has wanted to burden you with the news that your true father, Professor Turo, was off on his own, piled with his research and busy stranded out in the future world making note of future-related Pokémon.”
All the words from the Director were now shooting Y/N straight to her heart. She was still utterly lost.
“I know it is a lot to take in, Y/N…”
“Please stop.” Y/N begged, not even bothering to take a glance at the Director now, she shook her head and ran straight out of the office.
When Y/N got out of academy, she threw out Miradon’s pokéball. Miradon let out a small roar and lifted its head up high. It then came up to Y/N greeting her with a comforting head-snuggle. Miradon then backed away and noticed that Y/N’s eyes were filled with tears. Miradon tilted its head, its solemn look made it look worried.
Y/N put her hand on Miradon’s head. It shook with happiness. It then turned around, readying for a mounting. “We have to go to the lab on Poco Path. You know where it is, don't you?” Y/N asked, hopping onto Miradon’s back. Miradon growled happily in response. “Good.” Y/N said.
Miradon shifted into its motorcycle-appearance taking off immediately, its wheels moving as fast as they could go and Y/N occasionally boosting the speed of Miradon. It didn’t take long before Y/N made it to Poco Path.
Y/N instinctively jumped off Miradon and grabbed its pokéball. “Thank you for your help, Miradon.” Y/N smiled. Miradon happily gave a small noise and returned back to its pokéball.
Y/N then gave a sign and turned around to the lab behind her. She started walking towards it and hesitated at the front door. She gave a small knock, but when there was no answer, she went ahead to open the door and head inside.
The lab room was not a lab that Y/N expected to see, there was a whiteboard full of a bunch of equations and a computer with way too many monitors in the back of the room. There was also a lounging area. Y/N coughed from the sudden intake of dust around her and wagged her hand around to be rid of it.
Footsteps were suddenly heard from behind and Y/N turned around to them. A man with a long white lab coat and futuristic onesie with purple entered the lab. He kept his hands in his coat pockets and approached Y/N slowly.
“Are you Professor Turo?” Y/N asked, looking the man up and down. Surely this man couldn’t be her true biological father… unless it was…
“Hi.”
“Hi? I have to find out that my dad is not my real dad, that I was living a lie my whole life and that my father is a strange man and then I meet the strange man and everything he has to say is ‘Hi’?”
Turo walked around the small abandoned space. He thought for a moment before picking up a photo from off one of the back tables in the room. He stared at it for a moment before turning back to Y/N with the photo in his hand.
“Yes…?” The man was awkward at this moment, something Y/N never expected. The whole situation itself must have been a shock to the other man as well.
Y/N sighed. She crossed her arms over her chest. “I guess I should have expected that.”
Turo placed the photo back in its original spot and placed his hands on the table. “Look, Y/N,” He began standing up straight, but not beginning to turn back to look at Y/N now. “I am… sorry… I left you so long ago I– it was never my intention to hurt you or leave you for that matter.” Turo put his head down and sighed.
Y/N let her hands fall to her side. “I don’t blame you…” Y/N said finally. Turo turned around to her and looked straight at her. “I will admit it has been hard,” Y/N gestured around the room. “This whole… whatever.”
“I know.” Turo admitted. Y/N looked up to him, she started walking towards him now. Turo just watched as she made her way over to him. Y/N smiled and threw herself on him. She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him ever so tightly. Turo was taken back by this action, but hugged Y/N back.
“I’ll say, I can’t wait to get to know you, dad.”
Turo smiled. “Same here.”
