Dad Art will always be important to me. He loves his daughter and I know he adores being a father, he wants to be there for Lily craves the day he can retire and be more present in her life. I like how the film subtly show's how much he cherishes her even if it's fleeting glances, his screensaver, the drawing she made of both her parents and of course the sleep scene

Tiny thought:

Art wakes up to being shaken awake by a crying Lily tears slipping down her cheeks while she’s gripping onto her stuffed peach

“nightmare” she whispers it breaks his heart but he knows how to distract her knowing she’s too distraught to fall asleep again “let’s make those scary dreams go away.”

It’s around midnight when the sounds of squeals and giggles rouse you from your slumber. You groggily shuffle towards the noise and see Art dancing with Lily her fingers latched on tightly in her father’s hands perched up by his feet her tiny ones on his own as they spin in slow circles. Art’s humming one of her favorite lullaby’s as she tries to keep her laughing down to a minimum.

You leave them to it but wake up alone again. You quietly investigate popping your head out of your room to see Lily sleeping soundly on Art’s chest on the sofa in the living room.

He doesn't have to cut back on calories. You replace his blended protein shakes, electrolyte bottles and hard boiled eggs with pancakes and bacon the same way his grandma makes them.

The cute way he perks up whenever he notices his plate stacked with his favorite meals most days whenever you're re-introducing anything he'd stray away from

Gone are the day's where he fusses over food, waking up wary and bummed out when whenever he flips through his coaches meal plan for the day. Bare minimum boiled veggies, cups of fruit and bland shredded chicken salads.

No more drooling over lava cakes, milkshakes and pizza slices whenever you have lunch and dinner dates as a family

Wanting to console him when he feels shitty after glancing over at lily's chicken nuggets and mini burgers hoping she'd offer some while he dejectedly picks at his salad but refraining from saying anything because he gets upset for worrying you.

Proudly watching him slowly accept his body, wanting to enjoy anything he eats he'll stroll into the kitchen with a giggling lily in his arms holding a Disney cookbook in her hands the both of them begging to bake a batch of cookies with you and he'll eat half of them without feeling guilty

Stealing some of lily's snacks too cosmic brownies, fruit snacks and cheeto puff's when he's hungry

The best part is noticing the way he doesn't cringe whenever he see's his reflection in the mirror, he notices some pudge puffing over his boxers and the stretch marks on his belly but it doesn't matter because he's always been beautiful before and now.

Of course there's a balance but he feels like he can actually breathe
