im really emotional about a Lot of things in this chapter, but i was MOST EMOTIONAL at how we saw just the sheer extent that aaron cares about luke. aaron cares SO DAMN MUCH ABOUT HIM

aaron's profound fear that he wont be able to make a difference for luke's health is heartbreaking. hes working overtime trying to keep luke alive and healthy, so much so that hes even willing to keep oedipus' illegal experimental drug a secret from the NSB, because it helps luke.

hes willing to break the rules just as much as luke is, because he cares. because he doesnt want to lose luke, because he doesnt want luke to be alone in any of this

Ambrose & Nat: Potioneer & Apprentice

I said I'd draw this in the new year, so here you go! Shout-out to both @pepperdee and @akindofmagictoo for both reminding me about it as requested in my original post. :)

In ADfaD, Ambrose gifts Nat her first official set of potion robes. It's a moment that means a lot to both of them because Ambrose is a proud dad. Nat still has a ways to go in her training, but she's at a point where she can run the shop by herself for a few days if needed. Hm- wonder where Ames is going??

i think the reason it's so much fun to me personally to imagine post-manga link and shadow (with shadow having regained a body somehow) with like. sibling-adjacent energy. is just the sheer hilarity that would be trying to fucking explain where this mysterious new twin brother of his came from and why he's Definitely Not the guy who was out destroying villages and shit. no that was a totally separate guy wdym. and then link turns to his dad for help and his dad is like Listen. I agreed to let the shadow demon live in our house. I did not agree to explain WHY. YOU brought him home YOU take responsibility for him. and link gets about two letters into making up the worst possible new nickname for shadow to take as his """""twin""""" """""""brother"""""""" until shadow interrupts him by going straight for the throat screeching about how he is NOT going to be named LONK, LINK!!!!!!!!!!!! and then they're rolling around on the ground trying to strangle each other with their dad standing over them with the facial expression equivalent of "For Fuck's Sake". i know in my soul that at least one time link would be yelling at shadow to get out of his room and shadow would be like "I'M NOT IN YOUR ROOM!!!!!!" *has one toe crossing the threshold of his room* and link somehow harnesses the power of sheer unbridled rage to split into four again to chase him through the house. and then they can't figure out how to fuse back together again without the four sword so it just becomes this whole thing

She's trying not to lose her head in front of the commander. Admiral? King? Was he a king? Polly had a feeling that was the sort of question that would get her laughed at, and she had enough on her plate as it was. Martinex had lost an arm, Kee was drinking petrol, and there was a hole in her kitchen. The ship's kitchen, she corrected herself quickly.

And everyone was just okay with that?

"Right, yes, of course," she said, nodding as best she could. But Polly had no skill in hiding her every thought, and her voice came out as strained as she felt, forehead wrinkled in her sad attempt at looking calm. "The plan. I'm bait, right?" As if she could do anything else on a ship like this. "I stand around and look defenseless, and you have someone stop the bad guys in the nick of time, right? Or whomever you're trying to catch?"

There was a hole in her kitchen. Right above the stove. That's a recipe for disaster, and she's not going to be able to look thoughtless and carefree if she doesn't say something sooner rather than later.

"Are people going to cook something while I'm planet side? Because..."

Polly trailed off, second guessing herself. Because something was going to explode. And on a ship like this, she didn't exactly know if that was considered a bad thing.

She hoped it was. For the sake of tomorrow's breakfast, she really hoped it was.

BJ, caught in the middle of rubbing one eye, jolts and looks up at Colonel Potter. Without another word, he already knows what the soft frown and drawn brow mean, and he digs up a fistful of his lab coat. "Colonel."

"He's stable for the moment." Colonel Potter comes over and crosses his arms, looking down at Private Bloom. "We'll keep an eye on him. Go ahead and get some sleep, son."

"I really don't mind sticking around," BJ counters.

The older man gives him a look that cools him to the core. "If you end up needing to go back in and find a bleed, then you should be rested for it. You've done all you can. Get some sleep. Don't make me order you in front of the patients."
