The events of Lupercalia seemed so long ago now, but Remus could not forget it. As much as he had looked down upon the lycans back when he was a vampire, that was a long time ago now. It seemed like he had lived several different lives with many different faces. This one that he was currently inhabiting had been one stolen from a man that knew no better. He had been a witch that Remus took from and had no care for if he lived or died. The terror had a one track mind. He knew what he wanted and he made sure it was going to happen. At some point. It took too much time to really handle this whole Romulus thing and he wanted to get it done as quickly as possible now. What point did he have in waiting? There were others in the way that would make it difficult for him, but it seemed these lycans had a common goal. Not in killing his brother, but in making sure the Senate got put down quickly. Plus, he did like the idea of bloodshed. That seemed to be something only the lycans could provide to him right now. He certainly wasn’t getting an army from the drow.
His in to make his way to the alpha had been to mimic one of the many lycans that could make their way through the thick fog that blinded those that did not wield the proper tools to wander through it. Once he had gotten to the bar, he let go of the face for the one that he had been wearing for many years now. A drink was in his hand as he waited for an appearance from the one they called Alek. A volatile alpha. Remus was a bit of a fan of someone who would rip a heart out and eat it in front of a large crowd of people. He would never admit to such a thing though. His own ego was large enough for one room. He certainly didn’t need someone else’s blowing up as well. The terror was a bit selfish in that way.
“Alek Gray, correct?” That was the name he had remembered being said and the face he remembered. “We have a lot to discuss.”

Lupercalia. It felt like just yesterday that the two of them had been down there fighting each other for that alpha spot. Now the two of them were without a title and only Serkan was fighting for it again. Alek had been through two brain surgeries so there was no way in hell the other was going to even bother becoming alpha again. As far as he was aware at least. It wasn't like he was going to question it constantly. Maybe he would've enjoyed round number two for them, but that didn't really have to be for a spot at the head of the Lupo table. Placing his shades on his face, he lifted a beer to his mouth with his free hand. "Why the fuck didn't anyone mention that fucking Valamir was doing this shit?" He didn't much mind it, but that was sure as hell jeopardizing his chances here. He'd have to be smart about that fight if he really wanted to win this whole thing.

Vinny had wondered what had happened to the younger guy. It seemed like he was there one moment and then gone the next. The former witch had bit the dust in the worst way and looking for the lycan hadn’t exactly been top priority when he came back as a ghoul. The last word he would have ever used to describe their relationship was ‘friends’, but there was a part of him that had been concerned. What could he do though? He wouldn’t have even known where to start. Even if he did, there would be nothing he could have done. It had been a relief to see Alek at Lupercalia. They hadn’t spoken, Vinny thinking it was best if he steered clear. He didn’t exactly want his heart to be eaten in response. This was as good of a time as any though. The alpha could brush him off and Vincenzo would probably just go about his business just as before. “Hm,” was all he said as he looked at the lycan before stepping closer. “You know, I thought you had just kinda left. How wrong I was, huh?” He took the cigarette out of his mouth and blew a circle into the air above them.

Freedom still seemed foreign to him which was why Nash was always on edge. And nothing put him more on edge than the lycans that seemed to roam about so often. Things had changed as of recent to where they weren’t as common to see outside of New Rome. He was sure it wasn’t just him that wasn’t a part of the pack, but he was also a danger to them. The Cannibal knew that and so did the alpha of that ragtag group of lycans that stayed within the forest. Alek was more interested to him than the rest though. A volatile turned alpha. He wondered often just how much power the man had, if the lycan was stronger than him. They wouldn’t need to test that out now, but it was a thought he had and a reason he had not attacked on sight. As feral as he was, he preferred to live as long as he possibly could. Smoke blown into the air between them, he eyed the alpha before speaking. “How long you think you have left?” Nash himself had damn sure lost count.

"I'm starting to think you just sit in your house and think of insults to throw my way. I mean, I applaud the effort, but I'm sure you have more pressing matters to attend to, Alek." Even as he spoke the words, he was sure that the other lycan would have something else to say. When didn't Alek have an insult at the ready when it came to Serkan? It was pretty amusing actually. Maybe that was why they got along so well. If either of them dished out an insult to the other, there was a guarantee that they wouldn't take it so seriously as someone else would. Which was also a reason why he was concerned about this overwhelming presence of lycans. Not that he could really say anything given how he had run the Arno once upon a time. "I would hope not. I can't handle niceties." He brought the coffee to his lips again only to see that he'd run out. That simply wouldn't do. "Oh, I will. I just had to complain about it first." He pushed his shades up onto his hair. "I'm going to get more coffee. You have fun with all of..." He waved towards the crowd. "This." He patted Alek on the face before turning to walk away.
"It's not my fault that gape has its own gravitational pull." That was a big word for the alpha, but he read books and they had words in them and he'd graduated high school once upon a time. The wolfish smirk on his face was poignant, the charge in the air was palpable as the thrill of the coming days bore into him. So much work had gone into this and once the city was razed they would turn their eyes on the enemies of their allies. More eldritch changelings, enough hearts to feed an army, and to put the agency back in the hands of the lycans. "There's nothing civil about this lot." Alek pointed out, something about the thrill of the crowd and pack mentality. "Something tells me you'll do just fine."

Alek, oh Alek. To say Serkan had not expected this day to come would have been a lie. Ever since Halloween, he had told himself that this kid was going pay him back for what he had done. He guessed the alpha wasn’t a kid anymore though. When the former alpha thought back to when they first met, he just thought about how green the other was. Then came the attack on someone from the senate and he would have applauded if they didnt constantly have a foot on his neck. So he had done what he felt needed to be done. A show of strength that had turned into anything but. It had ruined so much and fixed absolutely nothing. Now, the only memory he had of the volatile was that look in the other’s eyes as he ripped the heart from another lycan’s chest and consumed it. It was just as entertaining as hearing about any of the former Arno pack causing a problem in Rome. The only thing that made it better was that Serkan had one less rival to worry about. It had felt like a gift placed into his hands with just a single look.
It was why it had taken him less time than expected to decide on what exactly he felt he needed to do. This new Lupo pack that the new alpha had came up with was going against the senate and, if there was anyone Serkan hated, it was them. Alek wasn’t his enemy by any means. After all, the alpha had left him alive when he could have done anything but. He considered that another gift. Stay down, Serkan. That was exactly what he had told himself. That was what he always told himself, but he was tired of staying down. The foot on his neck had been lifted and he felt a freedom he hadn’t known in a long time. It had brought him right to the Lupo doorstep. As his eyes met Alek’s, he held his hands up in what was supposed to be a show of respect that he was not there to cause problems. “Have you got a minute?”

closed starter for @alekgray location: idk the room where they have their lycan meetings note: cos remus is disrespectful
Remus usually kept to himself when he decided to wander into New Rome. However, that also meant that he hadn't spoken to Alek in quite some time now. Not since all these lycans had decided to show up at least. It was really an interesting situation, but there was a lot going on that he wasn't going to be privy to. That wouldn't do though. He wouldn't be left in the dark about this. Which was why he had made the trek to their little lycan meeting room, his feet tossed up onto the table as he waited for the alpha to show up. He'd sent a message so he assumed Alek would give him the time of day. After all, they were working together here.

“So what do you do in your spare time, Alek?” The younger man had just recently joined the pack and Serkan still felt like he knew nothing about him. Burak had made this problem for them, but the younger lycan fit in too perfectly for the alpha to complain about the new addition. “I might have a proposition for you.” He realized how that had sounded after the fact. “Not like that though. You’re not particularly my type.”

Maybe he should've probably taken it easy on Alek, but that just wasn't how they were with each other. At this point, the brain surgery excuse was getting old. The now former alpha was also no longer volatile and that just meant he had way less strength than he would've had normally. Of course Serkan was going to take advantage of such an opportunity. Was he just not supposed to punch Alek in the face after all the shit that had been said to him in the past...well, it had been a year actually. Time really fucking flew. He could remember when the other lycan absolutely despised him like it was yesterday. Now look at them. They were even friends. How fucking cute. Anyway, he bounced on his feet and let the other get out whatever the hell he wanted to say before he spoke himself. "No, I won't take it easy on you. You've had brain surgery more than any person I know. You'd think you would be a little fucking smarter." Then he continued. "And I can't help it you're so fucking hot, Alek," he stated in a joking tone and blew a kiss with a wink towards the other lycan. "Hands up, sweetheart."
@serkanxulusoy location: full moon fitness notes: beat and piss
Alek's face hit the floor of the ring in the gym, Serkan was a seasoned fighter who'd been in the cage at Dante's for what was probably the better part of a decade. Alek, no longer a volatile, and no longer alpha, was just a scrappy guy who'd been in a couple dozen street fights. "Bro-" he rubbed his head as the den of curls shifted before he got to his feet near Serkan, spitting out some blood. "I don't know if you heard but I just had brain surgery, again." He grinned, wolfish, a little bit violent, and eager. "Can't you take it easy on me, for old time's sake? How many times you gotta do this?" He whipped is knuckles forward and smacked Serkan on the nuts, "And why is your dick hard my guy?" Alek joked, playfully, as he bounced on the balls of his feet a bit and moved away. Somehow the two had ended up as friends, Serkan was Alek's only friend so that made them - best friends? That sounded fucking lame but they'd beaten the shit out of each other enough times to be really cool with one another now.

“Where are you coming from?” He took a sip of his whiskey as he looked at the younger man. Their living situation wasn’t exactly ideal, but Vincenzo barely had money. All he had was what was in his bank account when he left to come to Rome. It would run dry soon so he was actively looking for a job. “Want a drink?” Lifting up the bottle, he held it out to Alek. “Grab some now before I drink it all.”

"Well, yeah." That was all that came out of his mouth as Alek went about squeezing his arm and then his throat. If it were anyone else, he would've thought it was sexual in nature, but not from the lycan. Alek was just a damn menace with an anger problem now that seemed almost unmatched. Vinny could remember when the other used to hang onto every word he ever said. Now they just passed by each other once a while. The last time they'd seen each other, Alek had choked him enough to where his eyes damn near popped out of the sockets. Entertaining and terrifying at the same time. "You're recruiting me? For a job?"

"You look the same." Alek squeezed Vinny's scrawny arm before he reached for his throat and gave that a quick squeeze too. "Yeah, definitely the same." They'd been friends before, roommates alongside Sabina and then a lot of shit had kind of hit the fan. Vinny had died a couple times, came back, and then Alek was just out here trying to kill everyone. It felt like they were even somehow. "I've got a business opportunity though where you and I can make a killing, with my smarts and your... Gears, we can go places."

Serkan couldn't really expect Alek to say anything that wasn't an insult around him. It always took about two seconds for the alpha to come up with some sort of retort and he could only just smile from pride. They were good insults, but a lot of the time, it definitely had to do with his ass. Which was very much interesting to him given the fact that the last time Alek had let loose on him, there was the mention of eating ass, not sucking cock. Still very much a choice, but he wasn't about to judge the other's sexual preferences. "You've really got to stop bringing up how many things you think I can fit up my ass." He wasn't going to explain any further, but he was sure that Alek would find a way to bring it back there. He always did. "Temporary housing?" A disgusted look came upon his face before it disappeared as he took another sip of coffee. "I guess. I mean, why not have more people around here that we don't know that I have to interact with civilly. Shoot me."
The energy around the crowd was electrifying, intoxicating in a way. Lycans were always stronger together, the larger the pack, the greater their strength, what so many could do together was thrilling. Already the alpha could feel his power growing, something he'd never asked for but had just taken. The man in front of him, arguably Alek's only friend, was proof of that. "Heard there's lots of room up your ass." Alek commented dryly, though the lift at the edge of his lips brought with it some humour. "We have space for them, we'll have to put up some temporary housing." Fortify the hamlet too, now more than ever it was going to be important to keep intruders out.

Lately, it felt like Serkan was just sitting on his ass waiting for something to happen. He was itching for something to happen actually. Now that all of these lycans were in Rome, he felt like everything was finally getting started. Before he made the effort of trekking down to where Alek had called him and the rest of the council, he had decided to get coffee. Black. He was sure he would need it. All of the lycans seemed to be natural fighters, but he actually did it for living. Well, both him and Lucas. What if none of these little packs knew how to fight? That would be pretty embarrassing, but it would also probably be unlikely. Nevertheless, he put his shades on, coffee in his hand as he watched Alek's display. Just as he went to lift the cup to his mouth, the alpha was done and people were cheering. He took his shades off and walked up to Alek. "So fucking dramatic." It was a joke obviously. He put his shades back on. "Where are all these people staying?"
@senatusstarters location: New Rome notes: come and see. open to lupo pack also lycaon obvs
The light of the full moon faded, the lycans that Lycaon had summoned to the settlement under its light filled New Rome, flooded the trees and forests that surrounded them. They had been absent the fairy king’s protection but the lycans were too powerful now to make enemies of. “Brothers-!” Alek called out, “Sisters-!” Wolfish lips split wide as he bore his volatile teeth, his voice box caught somewhere between a wolf and a man. “My family-! You’ve waited long enough!” Still more wolf than man, flanked by the council, his dark voice barked over the crowd. “Come and see!” He called out, a wolfish grin on his face as the fur of his face mottled and shifted in the dim light. “Come and see the death of humanity, upon a shore of corpses,” his neck cracked audibly and jutted backward as the deep autumn gold sank to cold blues, shallow deceptive seas. “broken heads, spilled guts, scorched flesh!” Alek sang, his back reared backwards effortlessly as his spine cracked and echoed within the town square, nails pushed through the claws of his fingers as the hair across his body receded into pale skin, “Come and see the young tearing each other’s throats out!”
A low, visceral howl ripped from the back of his throat, gleeful, and menacing. Final. Eager for violence. “Rivers of poison will flow through the halls!” Alek laughed, deep and booming as his voice box discarded the lycan for the man; still dark, still grisly, and still hungry. He stood on two legs as his frame diminished, canine incisors replaced fangs as they tore over his gums, his jaw broke backwards as his muzzle returned to the hard line of his face. “Oathbreakers, philanderers, murderers will wade through those rivers! Come and see! Come and see!” Fur disappeared entirely, his transformation complete, the volatile werewolf howled with the lungs of a man possessed by a virulent beast. “At the rise of the next full moon, Rome will be ours once and for all.”
