Anyway. Thank you for the ask! Imma answer for both :'D

🍇: What sort of friend are they? Where are they in the group dynamic?

The Thing about these two is that to each other, they're like two pieces of a puzzle. Fatema is the one responsible for managing the social situations and talking out whatever emotional issues they might have, while Michelle is the one who makes sure the two of them don't get into trouble and does their homework. (Not that Fatema isn't incapable of doing it, but a little help never killed anyone.)

WITH THAT SAID. Michelle is an absolute disaster when it comes to navigating a relationship with more than two people in it. Due to their self-confidence she tends to immediately try and jump into the leader's role which, combined with her natural straightforwardness and a demeanour that might be percieved as unfriendly, usually does not work out at all.

Fatema is much, much better at stuff like this. She doesn't aim for the leader's role, but she's that one person who might or might not be ruling the overall dynamic with her own mysterious ways. Michelle learns a lot about the art of Socialising just by observing her.

Oooh, this one is fun.

Michelle views everything through the lenses of "is this good for the society"; in the trolley problem she will always choose to save the majority with little to no hesitation. Thus, for them unforgivable things are those that damage the society and its individuals in irreversible ways: such includes child abuse, intentional environmental pollution, etc. (Does not necessarily include murder, though! Michelle says "Murder Rights".) She tends to be as rational as possible when evaluating Situations and Actions, and they rarely give second chances.

Fatema, on the other hand, bases her perception of Situations and Actions on Vibes, and she's ready to forgive a lot of stuff that Michelle would not. The only way she could conclude that someone is irredeemable, actually, is that if they've done something absolutely evil they had no reason to do. (And, well, nothing's ever done without a reason -- but this is less of a question about objective reality, and more about how Fatema percieves it.)

Some classic papara/charus headcanons because there just isn't enough love for them:

I'm usually using nicknames for them. Papyrus is Rus and Chara is Cherry. Why, you may ask? Because I thought it would be cute!

They're both adults here! Rus is 21 and Chara 20.

Chara is in my headcanon an undead demon posessing a human body. The body was made through dark magic. I thought that it would make more sense than to just say: Oh look! They got revived through some sort of machine Hurray!

I'll try to keep my posts genderless. I actually prefer to make Chara female, but everyone has their own imagination. So chose the gender yourself! :D

Papyrus is the active and healthy eating one while Chara is a bit lazy and eats whatever they can. Altough Rus tries to balance his food in the best way possible, Chara always manages to spoil him a little bit here and there. It's like a special talent.

Chara loves to bake! They learned it from Toriel when they fell down into the Underground. And now they try to master it in their second life. From pastries and cakes to cookies, Chara would make you anything! And Papyrus just can't get enough of their proud smile whenever the pastries turn out just fine.

Papyrus is a bookworm! He could read a whole library without getting bored. Whenever he gets the chance he talks about his favorite books with Chara. Mostly when they're cuddling. Altough it always ends up in him telling them a whole chapter of hus books in a very epic way. Most people wouldn't call it relaxing but Chara thinks it's adorable. They really don't mind.

Rus likes to give Chara nicknames! Sometimes he calls them things like Darling, Sweetheart, Dear or his favorite one: Cherry. Why you may ask? Oh because they get red like one every time he calls them a different name. He simps very hard for them, there's no denying it.

Chara is a gamer! So Papyrus had to embrace that part into his life too. They collect just like him figurines and various games. And he's totally cool with it! They share the trait of collecting things after all. But when it comes to actually playing games? Chara always wins. They let him win from time to time so he doesn't feel too bad about loosing.

People treated them both very wrong. Chara ran away from the human world in hopes to escape. Meanwhile Papyrus was never really accepted in the world of monsters and wished to go to the surface. But being there they both realized how simillar their worlds could actually be. And now they help each other accepting them and themselves. It is a hard way, but together they can master it!

Their familys were not okay with their love for each other at first. Sans didn't trust Chara because of what they actually are. And Asgore and Toriel didn't want their child to be taken away again. But that didn't stop them! They met up in secret in the city, or with friends at other places! Mostly at night, when they could just live in the moment. Thankfully everyone accepted their relationship after some time. Now things are peaceful, but sometimes they wonder for how long it'll stay this way.

Both of them have a different life when it comes to work. Cherry works at Asgores new flower shop! It's located in the middle of the city and beloved by many people. It never gets boring there. Meanwhile Rus tries out all kinds of different jobs. He still hasn't found the right one though. He hopes to find something that makes him feel more complete and accepted in society!

Rus has a room only for painting! He loves to paint realistic landscapes or objects. Sometimes he even uses stone or wood as a canvas and paints it over. Just like he did with the Snowdin bridges! Cherry loves his work but can't swing a brush at all. They're much better with pencils. But even then has it been years since they last drew something. The last time was with Asriel, when they were children. Now Papyrus tries to change that and teaches them how to paint! It's a very slow progress, but he doesn't mind. It's more fun to paint a world together after all!

Having children is a very bad topic for them. Papyrus wants to be a father someday. He loves children and couldn't imagine something more beautiful with his partner than to raise a child. But Chara? They can't imagine to have a child at all! They're not ready in the slightest. It's no surprise, since they missed out on half of their current lifetime. But they're ready enough when it comes to raise two small kittens! One is called Chocy and the other one Cinnamon. Honestly, what other names did you expect? Chara loves food.

On a specific day, you were in the mood for a night walk: after all, you weren't having a good day, so you thought that this was the best thing to do to get away from your haunting thoughts;

Your usual way of relaxing is staying at home while watching some movie, reading some book, listening to music... but that particular day you just wanted to do something different, what lead you to something you would never expect to happen...

While you were walking into some empty and narrow street near a port, you heard some uncommon noises... more specifically from people talking and moving heavy objects hurriedly, you supposed;

You were about to return to your home when you heard them, but since you weren't in a hurry, you let your curiosity take the best of you;

Oh, how simple choices like this could origin such a drastical change in your life...

You hide yourself behind a corner, where you could see what seemed like ten people moving huge boxes with a "caution" warning on it into a truck, all of them covered in familiar masks;

When you were about to remember where those masks were from, you suddenly saw the one and only prince of crime of Gotham city: the Joker, jumping outside of the high truck into the ground effortlessly;

You covered your mouth after releasing a loud gasp unintentionally, earning suspicious glances from some masked men... or should you say women?

The Joker has women working for him too?? you thought, surprised by that fact.

After that, you started to run as fast as you could to your house, concluding that you had seen enough;

Little did you know that the psychotic clown saw you from afar, following you discretely after, while his goons continued to work;

When you got home, you went to bed and tried to sleep, thinking on how bad and strange that day was;

Since then, everyday you had the feeling that someone was following you, which obviously made you terrified. You thought about calling the police, but what if all of this was just your mind tricking you? What if you made yourself sound like a fool in front of the authority, wasting your time only to get to see them laughing at you afterwards? Yup, that's how Gotham police worked... and it was completely not worth it;

When you got home and finally managed to calm yourself down, you opened the door and instinctively screamed once you saw the most wanted psychopath in the city, chilling out on your sofa like he was in his own house;

"W-what are you d-doing here??" you asked, trembling, shaking from the inside out of your vulnerable body towards his presence;

"Oh, you arrived! I ah... just couldn't wait to finally meet the ah... little kitten who was picking at what she... shouldn't. But curiosity sometimes it's stronger than our own safety, isn't that right, huh?" he calmly, yet dangerously said, getting up from the couch to approach you slowly. You had nowhere to escape: you knew if you tried, he would kill you right then and there, and you wanted to do whatever was needed to stay alive just for a few more seconds;

"P-please, don't k-kill me...!" those words were the only ones that could came out of your quivering mouth by your frightened mind.

He looked at you disappointed, however he wanted to ask you something that he didn't understand just yet. "How... all of you are so... predictable. <Please, don't kill me!!>... Really? That's all ya have to say in your defense doll, huh?" he tried to imitate a little girl begging for mercy, which would make you laugh if you weren't on the that exact position.

"I-I guess if you were me, you would s-say the same thing. I... I don't k-know what else to say to you..." really? Were you really justifying yourself and trying to have a decent conversation with Joker?? He then stared at you intensely for a few moments, like he was analyzing you.

"Well, I guess I have to ah.. agree with ya on that one." he said. "But I didn't come here to ah... have a chat while drinking hot tea with ya. I actually wanted to ah... ask ya something."

"W-what is it?" even if you tried, you couldn't stop yourself from stuttering every time you spoke.

"Why didn't ya tell anything to the men that eat donuts 24/7 with a pistol in their ass pockets, the so called heroes of this city about ah... what you saw the other night, huh? If ya had reported me, I would probably be in jail right now instead of having this little... shitty chat with ya." even you didn't know the real reason, if you were honest. Maybe you thought this city was already fucked up, so what's the point in trying to arrest him when there’re many killers, thieves, and who knows what out there? You're just trying to live a quiet life... and if you did denounce him, you probably would be his next brutal victim once he lays his eyes on you again;

"I-I don't know... I just... want to live a quiet life. Let's be realistic: you probably would get out of the prison soon, so... it wouldn't make any difference, I guess..." this time you managed to speak without stuttering so much, which impressed you. He seemed thoughtful about your answer: he was good at reading people, and you didn't seem the kind of person that just wants to live their life in the best way possible, only caring about money and fame, not giving a shit about others. You have your own world, your own perspective of life, your own space without bothering anyone, and he admires that;

He could tell you're a shy and introverted person, not having anyone truthful enough to really talk about what happened... and Joker liked that fact.

From that, he already could tell that maybe you were someone to trust... and that's what he was about to find out;

After that, he nodded, telling you there was a chance of him coming back, since he got interested in your way of being. He decided to spare your life since you didn't report him, making you feel utterly relieved for not telling anything to the police or anyone;

Days passed and he wouldn’t show up like he said, and if you were honest, you actually missed him: you didn't have any romantic intentions with him, no no no, yet you thought maybe he could understand you... and accept you, finally valuing your worth and see you for who you are, without judging or offering rude side glances like most people do.That's when once again, he managed to impress you.

"Ta-daa!" he loudly exclaimed, making you jump from your secretary.

"What the hell?!" you exclaimed back, angry ‘cause he scared you by coming out of nowhere... again. "What are you doing here Joker??" calling for his name sounded strange... yet familiar, like you already knew him for a long time;

"Ah... from what I remember, I said I would come back. Soo here I am!" he then laid down caressly on your fresh-made bed. "Ohh this one's good! How much ah... did it cost, huh?" he said happily, finally having a comfortable bed to lay on instead of the rigid ground where he uses to sleep... when he can sleep.

You were speechless, him being completely at ease, but you decided to respond him. "Uh... it cost around 600 dollars. I saved a lot of money to buy it, so please be careful." suddenly, he started to laugh at you, like you said the funniest joke he ever heard.

"600 dollars?? Are ya kidding? Ya could just have stole it! And there would be so much fun and adrenaline on it as an extra!" he admitted excitedly, sounding like a kid who had the greatest idea about something random.

"Well, I'm not an expert thief like you. And I prefer to be humble and pay for it, thanks but no thanks." you answered, returning to do whatever you were doing previously before he unexpectedly entered your room.

"Oh... humility. Where does that lead us to, huh? To people getting whatever they want from us? Playing us like their little toys? Thanks, but no thanks." he imitated you casually with his arms resting under his fade green painted hair, which made you laugh this time since, somehow, you didn't feel scared of him anymore.

From that day on, he would visit you almost every day: firstly you felt like he was using you just to get a place to sleep and to properly eat: he has people working and doing anything for him, so why would he need you? Some common girl who's life isn't that interesting? You sadly thought. But with time, you could see he actually enjoys your company;

You would even tell him your problems, when a day went wrong or someone would bother you... and in that case, the next day that same person wouldn't be alive to tell the story. You thought strange at first, not knowing why everytime someone was mean and rude to you, they wouldn't be alive the next day. But then you put all the pieces together... so from that moment you stopped telling him when someone messed with you, unless it was really necessary and serious;

Sometimes you would tell him he was your guardian angel, to which he made a disgusted expression, making you correct yourself to "guardian demon";

"That sounds so much better, sweet cheeks." he said before winking at you. Every time he did that, you would blush furiously and hide your hot face, since you were a very shy and timid person, specially around him for some reason. He loved teasing you just to see you embarrassed, but of course he respected you, so he never crossed the line;

And all of this leads to now, where J is practically considered your weird best friend, the one you tell everything, the one you can truly trust and ironically, feel safe. If you only knew that one simple walk would make all of this happen... how funny life can be, putting two completely opposite people together and create this unbreakable connection between you two... like they always say, it's just destiny doing his work.

I think I have found an alternative to His Most Favorite?? It's a webtoon called Never Understand and the dynamic is also "ugly" shorty (I think he's cute) and handsome guy. I'm only at ch 18 so I can't say much yet, handome guy is only just in the process of falling in love, but it's nice so far :) (There is some non-con between side characters, but the perpetrator is very clearly shown as an asshole and the victim clearly isn't into it) I hope I'm not gonna get let down...

That’s very sweet, and I’m sorry to say that it did turn tocrap and fast.  But ahhh are we not usedto things being ruined for us?

Never Understand is a series of gay romances that unfold ina high school setting.  This high schoolsetting is a bit darker than most I’ve read without a paranormal twist.  It’s not like edgelord grimdark like CasteHevan.  The dark elements here are a bitmore suited for a high school setting.

We start off with supposed stubborn doofus Jaerim and coldasshole pretty-boy Yuri.  Jaerim joinsthe student council and Yuri is a cock to him because he’s “ugly.”  Oh god damnit are you already getting on yourhigh horse Faps step the fuck down. YOU CAN’T STOP ME!

The thing is…no BL author is going to ACTUALLY get away withmaking any of their characters ACTUALLY unappealing.  The genre is so homogenized that if you givea guy a classically handsome strong jaw instead of a guitar pick for a facepeople will screech about how UGLY they are.

Jaerim isn’t even that unique from regular ukes in myopinion.  The main thing I notice is thehairstyle is a bit different for being so flat and with no bangs.  So what the fuck ever!

MAYBE LET’S ACTUALLY TALK STORY FAPS! HMPH WELL MAYBE JUSTTHIS ONCE!

So Yuri begins to develop feelings for Jaerim.  I’m not entirely sure why to be honest.  There’s a point where Jaerim is passionatelyfighting for an underdog cause but Yuri pretty much does his best to ignore howviolently Jaerim is getting bullied for it. He doesn’t particularly seem to respect, admire, or feel protective ofJaerim. There’s just haphazard SEXUAL TENSIONNNNNNNN!!!  I particularly despised the 100 or so pageswhere Yuri is trying to grapple with his feelings after the whole bullyarc.  

Why?

1.) I’m just fucking tired of the ~do I like him or don’t~conundrum in BL.  Cause they’re superfucking cliché, boring, and we know exactly where all of this is going, don’tbe so fucking coy.

2.) The arc is superdefensive about how it’s not about Yuri being gay. He just romantically andsexually likes a dude but like for his personality (which he seems to hate mostof the time.) Which just PHEW makes me piles of angry.

There’s then a lot of IGNORE HIS COMPLAINTS BECAUSE HE’S JUSTTSUNDERE creepiness.  This includes suchclassic rape cultures hits of,

We then get a clusterfuck of an arc about Yuri and Jaerimbeing blackmailed by pointless jealousy fodder with a picture of Yuri sexuallyassaulting Jaerim.  Jealousy fodder isout to get Yuri and there’s no real explanation for it.  This also introduces a character I’m justgoing to call “Lying scumbag” who is in a relationship with jealousy fodder butwants Jealousy fodder to be OPEN about their relationship instead of hidingit.  I’m not even really going to getinto it because I don’t have the patience to write out its many, many, MANYlayers of bullshit.  Basically Yuri triesto prevent it from getting out.  It getsout but they manage to play it off as non-legit but immediately afterwards Yurisexually assaults Jaerim while people are looking for them.  So the author forgot the whole point of thearc cause she wanted to get to the non-consensual make-outs.  This somehow magics the two of them onconsensual terms afterwards.  Also wetotally forget about jealousy fodder and his relationship to lying scumbag.  You know what we’re going to do though? Makelying scumbag a main character.  Ithought, “People can’t care about this objectively awful person outside ofseeing a dick up his ass!”  I GUESS I WASWRONG AS HELL!

We get like one chapter of them being a happy couple andthen Yuri remembers his tragic and mysterious backstory and falls into anincurable angst coma.  This is nauseatingfor many reasons. The big problem is the fact that the author tries to cram severalcontradicting slices of sad pie in our mouth at the same time.

1.)   Yuri tragic past involves how he hates how hisfriend was bullied but recently he was totally cool with his crush beingbullied for months.

2.)   Yuri, that cinnamon roll, currently violentlyhates somebody who has nothing to do with what happened to his family and heKNOWS THIS.  But you can’t like confronthim about that because he has special PTSD psychosis.  You wouldn’t want to like damage him furtherby making sure he doesn’t kick the shit out of an innocent person would you?

3.)   Yuri is tragic because he must be a perfect facefor his now deceased rich family but OH like also he has to work 80 jobs causehe’s poor.  People both envy his richnessand despise how he gets the special privilege of working a part-time jobbecause he’s poor.

THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE!?!?!??!

This is only compounded by two major pieces of themost unsubtle bad as fuck writing. Yuri’s PTSD flashbacks ONLY hit when he is putin a position to defend Jaerim.  Eventhough there should logically be absolutely no connection between the two. HOWFUCKING CONVENIENT!  Also the reason whyYuri was conflicted in the beginning about rubbing his dick all over Jaerim isbecause his parents were killed by an ugly person.  Fuckity piss I just….ughhhhh.

We can’t even imply that Yuri is a shallow shit-head he’sgotta have a tragic backstory for every fault and mistake he makes.  MY PARENTS WEREN’T EATEN ALIVE BY A PACK OFRABID BAD BL MANGAS BUT I STILL HATE BAD BL!

Eventually Jaerim breaks through Yuri’s coma through aseries of super unromantic phrases disguised as romance. Including the smashhits of:

Meanwhile, despite being ~flagrantly ugly~ a new hot guy isinterested in Jaerim but like just so he can fuck a girl. Turns out there isthis super evil slutty girly-girl who is out to destroy Jaerim cause her crushon Yuri is extreme.  I thought at firstshe was one of the most pathetic 1-D misogynist attempts at creating a villainI have ever seen.  Then we get some ofher backstory where she was bullied because she tried to defend the superpopular Yuri from….this one girl who inexplicably didn’t like the super popularhandsome Yuri????  However the storymakes it look as if she was a shallow sociopath who learned how to be violentand feminine (in the same stroke case popular????) in order to achieve her aims.  She did this not to defend a defenseless Yuribut to get a taste of that sweeeeeeet dick. So after these scenes I thought she was one of the most pathetic 1-Dmisogynist attempts at creating a villain with a flaccid pointless backstorythat does nothing to make her sympathetic.

I mean…I’m kinda glad they tried avoiding making her astrawman but it did nothing to help the situation at all.

So she manipulates a dude into trying to drive Jaerim andYuri apart through guess what? FILMED RAPE DISGUISED AS CHEATING? HAHA!

Yuri sees Jaerim crying, covered in bruises, it looks likepretty obviously forced assault.  WhenJaerim sees Yuri he even looks relieved. But, of course, Yuri runs off weeping that he cheated.  However a friend magics to his spot and tellsYuri to trust Jaerim.  So Yuri runs backand tells everybody they’re totes dating and that there is nothing NOTHINGJaerim could do to ~escape~ from him. Rapist then beats the shit out of his love interest and Yuri for a whileand I guess the day is saved?

What I do like about this story is Yuri is called out on hiscrappy behavior and he apologizes for it which seems like a low bar but HAHAwe’re talking BL here.  I also like howthey don’t try to blame anything on Jaerim because Jaerim never does anythingwrong.  Perhaps it’s my soft-spot forukes but I do genuinely like Jaerim. He’s thoughtful, determined, and sweet.

What I don’t like about the comic is well pretty much allthe story events.

BUT WAIT there are 3 more couples I can talk about!  I’m not going to touch on lying scumbag andjealousy fodder because the story devotes very little time to them.

The two other couples are Bully/Victim and….bully/victim.Ugh good god.

The first I’ll talkabout is Yumin and Doohon.

Yumin and Doohon used to be anime buddies.  However as they get older Doohon realizesthat people look down upon anime fanatics so he decides he wants to be popularinstead.  This, of course, has to bepaired with Doohon verbally, and physically bullying those he can with theBONUS of sexually assaulting Yumin. Later, thanks to Jaerim, Doohon learns the error of his ways andapologizes to Yumin and returns to accepting his own anime nerd ways.  When Doohon is hesitant about starting arelationship with Yumin after all the unspeakable shit he put him through theytreat it as Doohon OVERTHINKING things because Yumin immediately wants to hopon his dick again.  In most situations inthis story they treat bullying as serious and fucked up.  However when your crush does it, it’s fine!HAHA!

Next I’ll talk aboutAyeon and a character I’ll call aDONTis like Adonis but….DON’T HAHA! …Okaythat’s not very good but neither is this blog SO IT’S FINE!

Ayeon was a chubby guy who was infatuated with the shinning,gloriously attractive Adontis.  Ayeonasks Adontis out and Adontis responds with some of the most disgustinglyhateful tripe I’ve seen in a BL manga.  Adontis says how he should know better than to treat those lesser thanhim with kindness because they get the wrong idea.  That he’d never date an ANIMAL a PIG likeAyeon and that he is so disgusted at the prospect he can’t even finish an applethat Ayeon gifted him.

Damn! What a good antagonist for this story most readerswould think.  However all hope is lostwhen reminded that this is a BL story.

Adontis later finds out there is this cold but hot dude whodoes archery and throws himself in wholeheartedly into trying to bang him.  Why yes that is Ayeon after he lost weightand Adontis not only doesn’t realize this but he never does and is never calledout on his previous treatment of Ayeon. Adontis is a hyperactive brat, whose obviously stalker antics are playedoff as cute and endearing.  Ayeon ishesitant and already has a dude who treats him well as a love interest.  However Ayeon eventually succumbs toAdontis.  Ayeon acknowledges that Adontisis objectively a shallow, hateful fucker but like AYEON IS A SHALLOW PERSON TOOBECAUSE HE IS GOING TO GO OUT WITH ADONTIS FOR HIS LOOKS ALONE TOO!  I’m glad they accept that this is actuallykinda crappy situation.  However this hasthe effect of equating “A human monster” and “Someone with no spine” on thesame level of crappiness.  A bully and avictim are not equally terrible.

If you think so, just swallow a handful of lit M80s please!

Also their bonus chapter makesAyeon a slutty cat-boy for reasons and Adontis cheats on Ayeon just to test tosee if it’ll make him upset or not.  Idon’t like the other couples but this one is fucking sprinting to get to thebottom.

TL;DR

Never Understand is like His Favorite except darker and way worse and actually not like His Favorite at all.  The art is fine, Jaerim is decentbut the rest of the characters are pretty unlikable, and the story borders onstupid to repellent.   The upside beingthat (at least in the main couple) if a seme does something crappy they’llacknowledge it as bad and he’ll actually apologize for it.  Otherwise don’t waste your time.  I’ll never understand, never understand.
