4. Elina
I don’t have any strong feelings about this shot either way. Elina caught the light well, although I’m not sure why they didn’t pick a shot where she was genuinely crying; from what I could tell, some of those shots would’ve been better than this one. Still, her face does look sad enough and it sells the concept. Her pose is solid and the part of the dress that we can see looks good too. It’s an okay shot.

#3 – Lauren Brie
I am still waiting for that cycle where we just have a normal call-out order, maybe a few slight shocks and inconsistencies, but where the general elimination order makes sense. Lauren Brie should never have even been considered for elimination, but I won’t rant about this as I will get a chance to do that soon in another list. This shot is pretty good, I feel it is a bit over the top like others, but for the most part Lauren Brie looks great. Her body is stunning and she has managed to position herself so she sells the concept, but also sells the dress. Her body looks amazing, and the curves of her back and legs are just beautiful. Her face is a bit off, and had she maybe not gone so far with the side glance this shot would have been higher. All in all, in the grand scheme of this week this is one of the few that remains a semi-fashionable shot while also selling the clothes.

5. Sheena
This would be up a spot if Sheena hadn’t flicked her eyes so far to the side. She’s suffering from the same issue as Lauren Brie where she looks possessed, especially in the wide shot. However, her body looks incredible and she’s modeling the dress very well. The whole thing doesn’t come across as posey and I love her delicate hand. Sheena did a good job of portraying her concept as well.

1. Marjorie
Marjorie’s shot is by far my favorite for the week. Her pose is flawless and she really did a great job of selling her concept while still looking like a model and working her clothes. I like how she didn’t overdo the hunch back and the broken down body language is to die for. I love her neck extension, how she placed her leg up on the bar, and the bent backwards arm. Marjorie’s face is amazing as well, the desperation and distress is palpable. She did an excellent job of telling a story about a star struggling to use the restroom in a dress and somehow made it fabulous!

3. McKey
McKey had one of the hardest concepts but I think she did well with it. The blend of repressed fury and bitterness in her expression perfectly fits someone who lost out on an award that they were sure about winning. Her bone structure is amazing and I love the strength in her eyes. Her chemistry with the male model is solid as well, although I think she leaned forward just a bit too far with her pose. Her face is stunning here though.

#6 – Elina
Another forced and just contrived photo. Elina doesn’t look even remotely emotional, this reminds me of Danielle’s crying photo from Cycle 6. Rather than looking like she is truly emotional, it seems like she has been pepper sprayed or had some lines drawn on. This photo just falls flat, and honestly I am not sure her face even looks that pretty here. This angle makes it awfully round, and just lacking distinction.

6. Lauren Brie
Lauren Brie’s Face is actually pretty good in this shot, if a bit too over-the-top. I believe the alarm/embarrassment in her eyes, although I wish she had cheated her eyes more towards the camera since she looks possessed. The dress looks decent as well, but her pose just seems on the stiff side. However, her concept was one that was difficult to pull off naturally. I’m not going to lie and say I disagreed about Lauren Brie’s personality being blander than a bag of flour, but that shouldn’t have mattered when her body of work up to this point had been pretty terrific overall. Her elimination was completely ridiculous.

7. Joslyn
This just looks like bad acting to me. The way Joslyn has her hand on her head just seems corny. In fact, the entire pose just seems so overbaked and she’s lucky that the dress actually looks fabulous, otherwise she’d be in the bottom spot yet again. The angle of Joslyn’s face is a huge improvement over previous weeks, but I don’t really believe her expression; she didn’t commit to the shady side-eye nearly as much as I wanted.

#1 – Marjorie
This photo is one of the iconic ones form this cycle for me. I am not 100% a fan of it, but that is completely due to the concept rather than anything negative on Marjorie’s part. I think the angles she has created with her body are interesting, and her facial expression is pained enough. It feels exaggerated and clear without being comical, and that is my favourite thing. It sells the brief, yet Marjorie didn’t need to go for the busted facial expression, there is a tad of pain in her eyes, and the body, while being so awkward, still kind of seems natural.

#2 – Analeigh
Analeigh aced the brief this week, and she looks good while doing it. Analeigh put in a lot of little details which I am a fan off, the tilt of the head, the obvious facial expression, the hand on the hip. It is clear what she is trying to do, and I think it is subtler than most of the others, if still a tad too overacted for my taste. But anyways, Analeigh’s face looks gorgeous here. I love how they have styled her hair, and the only thing I wished she had done was pop her hip a tad more. I think the exaggeration would have helped the dress stand out a bit more.

#4 – Sheena
And over half way through this list, we are still dealing with overdramatic shots. The thing that puts Sheena above the others though is that at least I get the concept (it wasn’t the most subtle concept though), and she looks killer in that dress. The way it has highlighted the curves of her body is beautiful, and had she arched her back a tiny bit more this would have been a place higher. I think the face is too dramatic, but I guess over the top expressions that sell the concept sometimes are better than going for subtleties and failing.

#5 – McKey
I guess this photo is fine, McKey had a harder concept to portray than those below her, so I am cutting her a bit of slack. I don’t get the concept at all from this, it just looks like someone who is angsty. McKey’s face does look quite heavenly though, her bone structure has photographed fantastically and it is one of the few photos I get to truly appreciate her real beauty.

#7 – Samantha
Like with Joslyn, this is so over the top yet somehow doesn’t sell the concept at all. If it wasn’t for the signs with the words I would have no idea what she was trying to put across. Plus, along with that she doesn’t even look remotely modelesque. The dress has just hidden her shape, maybe had she done something else with her body rather than stand their this could have been at least alright. Her face is kind of beautiful though, so that is what puts it above Joslyn.

#8 – Joslyn
Joslyn unfortunately has overstayed her welcome. She should never have gotten by with this shot, it is just so overdramatic. I mean it reads more to me that she has a headache, and the movement of the body is just unnatural. Her face also isn’t the nicest looking, it is slightly frumpy. I wanted some side eye evil, she hardly looks like she notices the girl with the other dress. How has she produced a shot which seems overdramatic, yet hasn’t got enough drama to emulate what it was meant to. I am just confused.

2. Lio
This is over-the-top done right. The condescending and bitchy expression on Lio’s face is so believable. Their body language is perfection, from the tilted head to the lazily held microphone; it really looks like they’re so over having to interview people. Another plus is that the dress looks fantastic as well. Lio did an excellent job of selling the concept and making it fashionable at the same time.

8. Samantha
This is such a boring picture of Samantha. She’s doing nothing interesting with her pose to make the dress stand out or make her body look good. I would have no idea what her brief was if I didn’t watch the episode. Her face does look pretty, but I don’t think she caught the light in way that shows off her bone structure very well. I wouldn’t have eliminated Sam here, but she deserved more criticism for this.
