Cycad and Alder were mates, but then Cycad was yoinked and modified, becoming the Harbinger (note: Harbinger does not remember being Cycad, so Cycad is basically dead). Alder was forced to leave their home and take their pup with them. Later Alder became a ghost (killed by Mama Scugial) and watches as their daughter searches fruitlessly for her mother...
