Hope everyone is doing good, in this fiftieth month of 2020.

I am on vacation till the 29th, having started it a little early this week, and had hopes that the creative side of my brain would.... unblock itself.

It seems to have worked as I finally finished this Mitchsen oneshot that was meant to just be a fun fluffy sexy romp. But then there were emotions and it got harder to pull from my brain for the last 5 months. Not because I didn’t like where it was going, but what was being said was suddenly more important. Weighty. And had to be just right. And now it’s done, save for revisions as there are a couple placeholder lines I need to fill in.

But! Even more important. Is I then pulled up Gears chapter 9 and added a couple hundred words to that as well.

My goal is still to hopefully finish at least this chapter of Gears by the end of the year. Dream goal would be to finish 9 AND 10, since 10 is supposed to be a shorter wrap up but with these four, who knows what ‘short’ will look like.

This would leave me clear to write PP2 next year, interspersed with hopefully shorter things that I can post. Because I’m NOT posting PP2 until it’s done. I learned my lesson by taking so fucking long with Gears.

As always, thank you to everyone who is still with me and haven’t written me off entirely. I really do have so much more to share with you and I’m hoping I can get back on track soon.

The short answer is yes! I have 2 movies to redo after all!

The longer answer is: every time i find energy to write, it disappears way too fast thanks to work and real life. Especially right now with the loss of my Demon everywhere I look.

I’m working on pulling myself back up to feeling like writing again so I can start PP2. I probably won’t start posting until it’s done, I learned my lesson with Gears. Technically I have 2 chapters done but that’s from a year and a half ago.

Here’s hoping I find my happy place again soon. Thank you for this as I think it moved me several steps closer.

I just realized I am a terrible person because I haven’t answered this yet!

At the time I was feeling down and didn’t really have a lot of oomph about my progress and didn’t want to be a downer. (Too late.)

But I did - and still do - appreciate that you took the time to send this. It helped a lot and gave me a wee bit of pep to maybe get off my butt.

I’ve hit a serious lull this year, an unexpected one at that, and have increasingly stressed myself out for not producing as much content as I did year one of writing. I don’t think I’ve even matched year two at this point lol.

But. I’ve finished a fic tease that’s going up this year. I’ve almost got my Mitchsen oneshot done. And I have it in my head to really try and finish Gears before the end of the year. It’s been long enough and really there’s only 2 chapters so what’s my problem. (I can’t write smut anymore is my problem, I’m broken.)

Then hopefully I can start the year fresh and work on my rewrite of PP2 with other oneshots or things mixed in.

I love Gears, so much more than I thought I would when I started it. It makes me happy when other people do too, since it’s a Staubrey story and gets less love than the others. They deserve their happy ending and who knows. Maybe I’ll get around to writing the sequel that lurks in the back of my mind, takes place a year or so later and would put the 4 of them together like they’re insisting is endgame.

Other than the glaring placeholder where the good stuff happens (please let me write good stuff) and okay all the revisions, beta work, more revision and polishing, I can now safely announce that Switching Gears is actually done.

I went into a weird blackout state and wrote all night. I don’t remember much of the things I put down, tbh. I just know there’s like 8000 more words than there was this time yesterday.

Next step is to finish the placeholder, as soon as it’s not blocked by censor bars, and then read all of chapters 9 and 10 as a whole instead of the piecemeal way I’ve been doing it. Plus I’ll have to read the whole thing from start to finish and make sure it matches. It’s a bitch when you come back to something 8 months later.
