The Shadough Bakery

A small bakery in the lower district that serves as a neutral information hub. Requests for intel are made in code through specific orders—e.g. the type of pastry indicates what kind of information is needed, the amount indicates when delivery is expected, and the coffee order indicates payment method. Dealing in information is their main business, but they do run a functioning bakery and have plenty of customers who are only there for the sweet treats.

A small, independent apothecary and spiritual sanctuary catering to a variety of New Age practices, such as alternative medicine, crystal healing, astrology, tarot reading, and meditation. They stock an impressive range of related paraphernalia, often handcrafted, as well as provide services related to the above.

A subdivision of Bluebonnet Media, and sister company of Bluebonnet Press, they are a book publisher boasting an impressive roster of local talent. They maintain close ties to Kismet Studios which provides a direct pipeline for authors to get their books optioned for movies. Like other media companies under the Big Three umbrella, they are allowed to operate independently with the caveat that corporate may step in if required. Additionally, they have their own chain of bookstores that also stocks titles from other publishers (for a small fee, of course), often absorbing smaller, independent bookstores while allowing them to retain their original name and staff.

An unassuming residential house in the lower district currently serving as the unofficial headquarters of the Violet Messengers. It is mostly used as a pick-up and drop-off point since the group operates in an entirely decentralised manner. Nobody lives at the property, and there are rarely more than a handful of members on the premises at the same time.

Dallas Zoo

Dallas Zoo features a number of live animals, as well as lifelike animatronics of animals that for various reasons cannot or should not be kept in captivity, as well as animals that are extinct. A highlight of the zoo is the area populated by animatronic dinosaurs which has become a favourite among visitors of all ages. The zoo also invests heavily in various wildlife conservation programs.

Periwinkle Art Gallery

A small art gallery in the middle district. They focus on exhibiting works from smaller, up-and-coming artists, usually from the middle and lower districts. They are also notoriously known for adjusting their cut of any sales in proportion to the income of the artist, with artists of a lower socioeconomic standing receiving almost all of the profits after taxes. How they manage to keep the place profitable with that policy in place remains a mystery.

A general hospital affiliated with the Big Three and located in the middle district. It is the largest hospital in the Metroplex, providing quality care to both human and synth patients from all three districts, at least in theory. Because it is an official subsidiary of Epsilon Labs, it is common for people who are trying to stay under the radar to seek alternatives, usually in the lower district. It is also the home of the largest psychosurgery clinic in the city, boasting the latest and greatest in technology, treatment, and training for staff members.
