My wishlist for part 3:
-VAST SILVER still being around, joining the fight against Nemesis and becoming best buds with Erend (brought to you by this one datapoint)
-Seyka joining Aloy at The Base
-SEYLOY REUNION HUG/KISS
-Erend listing off everyone who would be disappointed now that the Savior of Meridian is taken (to Seyka’s amusement it’s a pretty long list, the only one Aloy was even aware of was Avad cause of, like, the whole rebound thing)
-Beta gaining more confidence, Aloy teaching her how to hunt. More Aloy and Beta bonding in general and more of Aloy getting used to being an older sister (with some help from Alva and Seyka)
-Beta and her imposing 100-pounds-soaking-wet frame trying to intimidate Seyka
-VARL JR I WANT TO SEE VARL JR
-Zo earning Sona’s respect cause she’s a badass
-Teb the stitcher coming back as a permanent store at The Base that gets all of the cool gear near endgame so I don’t have to run around every fucking settlement tryna figure out who has the good shit
-Teersa meeting GAIA
-Morlund and Gildun becoming friends cause they’re both nerds, complete with side quest. And huge dangerous machines. Like idk mega thunderjaws or regular fireclaws or some shit
-LONGLEGS AS MOUNTS COME ON GAME PEOPLE RIDE OSTRICHES IN REAL LIFE LET ME RIDE A LONGLEG I WANT TO RIDE THE GIANT ROBOT CHICKEN
-CYAN and Aloy’s former werak (plus Ikrie and Inatut) joining up, no one is even surprised to hear Aloy was also a Banuk chieftain. Focus for Aratak
-Erend, Kotallo, Beta, Alva and Seyka listening to Aratak tell stories (extremely exaggerated stories in Aloy’s opinion) about Aloy’s exploits in The Cut
-CYAN and GAIA becoming AI friends
-Aratak, Sona and Hekarro meeting. That sounds like a party

Ooh I also have horizon 3 thoughts/predictions!
I think Vast Silver is gonna be involved somehow maybe to combat Nemesis, or possibly in a dlc like we had Cyan from Frozen Wilds? Since it’s the final game it seems likely they’ll finally have Aloy meet this mysterious elusive AI.
Also thinking Elysium will be the ruins location (like how we had the Alpha’s place in HZD and Thebes in HFW) since we’ve heard about it but not found it yet
I was also hoping to finally explore Oseram territory when looking for these old world weapons, seems Oseram delving could come in handy there. Depends if they’re gonna introduce more new tribes across the sea like the Quen or further explore the ones they have currently, maybe both? Like half the map is across the sea/Quen territory and half is the mainland 🤔
It’s exciting to think about anyway! Can’t wait for your thoughts!
I totally agree about VAST SILVER and Elysium. They're one of the very few oft-mentioned threads left hanging since the beginning of the series. I do think their plot relevance will be connected--VS involved in whatever befell Elysium--but even if they're not intertwined, they'll be integral.
I'm thinking we'll have to befriend VS to be a boon in our efforts against HEPH and/or Nemesis. Given 1) VS's disposition in the Burning Shores datapoint and 2) Elisabet's (therefore Aloy's and Beta's) connection with Anita Sandoval--therefore VS's potential development re: AI and the illegal Turing number--there's a lot there to be explored.
As for Elysium, I'm betting it'll be part of The Claim. Since The Claim was originally intended to be part of HZD, there's an overwhelming chance that it'll be involved in HFW. Petra for ealdorwoman PLEASE. Also, there's hints that point to Elysium being there. It's "within miles of" GAIA Prime, per HZD datapoints, which could put its ruin in The Claim.
As for new tribes--I genuinely hope we don't get any. At all. We already couldn't give all of the existing tribes their due in HFW (where were the Banuk?) and to add more in H3 would be unnecessary bloat, given the scope of what the game has to accomplish.
Related to that last point--and potentially a very, very controversial opinion--I don't think we'll be actually seeing Quen lands. Londra's data at the end of Burning Shores gives us five places to investigate, some we've seen, some we haven't, all in the same geographical vicinity as the regular map. (One of the looks to be near Malmstrom Air Base...HELLO BAN-UR!) Given that we have to deal with HEPH and Nemesis and bringing together all of the existing tribes--to handle the Quen revolution just doesn't fit. Plus the decentralization from the last two games is dissonant, to place half the map there...not to mention some of the continued problematic optics that would come up if the revolution turns into Aloy's Doing. Save that for a future spin-off.
...or, more likely, I do believe a contingency of the Quen will be coming to us as H3's primary human enemy (as the Eclipse or the Rebels). GIVE ME LOYALIST FEDERA.
I personally think the map will be centered on Meridian, extending to the Sacred Land in the east, with a somewhat condensed map of the West to Legacy's Landfall--with new areas of The Claim and Banuk to the north.

Character Introduction - Meridian Shardd
If you like this, please REBLOG! 💕
☆・・Aesthetic/Moodboard ・・☆
Tumblr media
════════════════════════════════════════════
☆ ・・About/General Info ・・☆
A cyborg/robot created for entertainment, Meridian long since yearned to know what it truly meant to live and be human. Finding an unexpected opportunity to rebel against their creator, Meridian broke free of the coding they'd been trapped to since the moment of their creation and escaped from the Khosmonian Galaxies in search of a future where they could truly be free. Naive, innocent, and painfully unaware of how real humanoid interactions actually work, especially in such a conflicted set of galaxies, Meridian wandered completely lost for a while, trying to not fall back into the hands of their inventor - who would for sure reprogram them and stop them from achieving their dream of experiencing real life - until they met a strange, but kind, group of thieves and space adventurers who became their friends and the closest thing to a family they ever had. Perhaps being human won't be such an unattainable dream as they thought.
════════════════════════════════════════════
☆・・More Info ・・☆
Pronouns - They/Them (main pronouns), He/Him (occasionally)
Age - They have been alive for less than a decade but have the appearance/biology, mental age, and personality of a young adult in their early 20s.
Current Role - Part of the main cast
Appearance - Meridian has medium to long hair, synthetic, which they can change/choose the color of at will (their favorite hair colors are bright neon pink, cyan, or deep gold). Their skin is pale and perfectly smooth, akin to a porcelain doll, and some of their robotic joints are visible, with golden wiring/servos within (like an automaton, but high tech and sentient). Their eyes can also change color at will, and they usually match their eye color to their hair color of the day because they like symmetry. Meridian is considerably tall, standing at 6,2ft or around 187cm, and because they tend to wear heels (they like it) with wheels, they're usually even taller. Their features are rather androgynous, though their design leans more towards a somewhat masculine appearance.
Personality Types -
✶ Enneagram: 7w6
✶ MBTI: ENFP
Occupation: Formerly - Servant/Entertainer (dancer, singer); Currently - Adventurer, Rebel
Species & Place of Birth: Cyborg/Sentient Robot, Khosmo

[Fanfic] Android and His Oseram - Chapter 4: The Spark of Ingenuity
Tumblr media
Title: The Android and His Oseram
Chapter Title: The Spark of Ingenuity (Chapter 4) Summary: Upon accidentally reactivating Connor, Gildun's stunned when the "human" says he's actually a machine. Gildun reacts accordingly.
Crossover canons: Horizon games / Detroit: Become Human
Main characters: Connor (DBH) and Gildun (Horizon)
Gildun yawns and yawns and finds that the yawn still wants to keep going, so who's he to argue? He's still yawning as he fumbles his way out of his fur-lined bedroll and gropes around for where his leather cap slipped off from his face, eyes still bleary and blinking away sleep up until his hand slaps against a strange, alien feeling shoe that most definitely wasn't there before.
To his credit, Gildun doesn't bolt out of his bedroll like a startled Grazer.
What he does do is freeze like a rabbit kit caught out in the open. For a second he has the nasty heartstopping thought that raiders or Shadow Carja or similar ilk have found him and realized he's pretty easy pickings traveling solo like this, that maybe they think he's got plenty of shards or food they can nick. Now he isn't a fighter like Aloy; what he can do is try to talk his way out and he's gearing up to do just that as his head cranes up and he spots the strange cyan circle glowing in the darkness above him. It bobs, a haunting shape floating in place like a spirit as its owner dips his head and a serene, inoffensive voice wafts down.
"Good morning, Gildun. Did you sleep well?"
Oseram stares stupidly up at android. Android calmly gazes down. Oseram finally remembers as his heartbeat thunders in his chest and throat that oh, right, yesterday happened. All of yesterday. Yeah. That.
"...m-more or less. Where's the lantern?"
"It seemed prudent to bring it with me once you started regaining consciousness. A second as I work out the primitive mechanism."
Primitive?
Gildun's face scrunches in puzzlement, expression still scrunched as something clicks in the dark, sparks against the painstakingly collected dry tinder in the lamp's casing soaked with Blaze, and the room warms with the flickering glow of firelight cutting through the pre-dawn. Connor crouches down on his heels, still holding the lamp gingerly as if it's a delicate artifact instead of reliable, good ol' Oseram craftsmanship anyone would be proud to own, and his dark head, dusted with powdery snow as if he'd gone for a walk outside, cocks to the right.
"Is camping in these ruins necessary? Surely there must be some sort of more appropriate lodging."
Gildun reaches out to take the lantern, fingers brushing against Connor's and he just barely hides the kneejerk urge to cringe; the android might look and sound shockingly human but his touch was cold, too cold especially in the Cut's unforgiving weather and Gildun shivers as he brings the lamp closer.
"Everything's ruined here, Connor."
"But this was Yellowstone."
"What..? Oh! You must've seen those rocks the Banuk paint with."
Connor's head shakes, the LED weaving a dizzying trail that leaves burning blue afterimages dancing in the dark. "No, 'Yellowstone' as in the popular National Park. "
"I'm not following."
"Yellowstone," Connor begins, "is visited by millions of visitors annually…or at least it was, when I was last operational. There should've been plenty of suitable accommodations to avoid unpleasant situations like this, even so."
Now Gildun wonders if Connor's exhibiting some more of that humor he insists he doesn't have, the Oseram's eyebrow arching as he rubs his hands to warm them and then sticks them under his armpits for safekeeping.
"You're telling me that all those people," Gildun isn't entirely sure what a million looks like, much less millions plural, so he substitutes "all of Meridian" into the forming mental image and tries not to let the sheer giddiness of this new history overwhelm him, "came here. For what? What about food, how'd they prevent overhunting with so many people?"
"Hunting for sport likely would've been prohibited, as that would endanger the resident animals," Connor sounds almost surprised that Gildun even asked. "Presumably relevant food was shipped in by companies such as Aramak, so that tourists could continue their recreational camping and/or sight-seeing without having to bring their own meals. Unfortunately, there was still a significant trash problem generated by the sheer number of visitors. The traffic itself was supposed to be noteworthy. "
Gildun's eyes were wide behind the lantern's warm glow and for a moment, he desperately wished Aloy hadn't taken off so quickly. After all, she was a truly unparalleled connoisseur of the past: surely she'd be interested in the marvelous, fantastical tales this "android" contraption spun! That is, assuming she didn't shoot Connor first. There's that, too, given how gifted she was at taking down machines.
"So these 'tour-ists'," Gildun sounds out the unfamiliar word in his mouth, feeling its awkward syllables against teeth and tongue, "came all the way out here just to - to camp? For fun? To just look at the Cut because it's there?"
"If that's what you prefer to call Yellowstone, then yes."
"Have you ever been here before, Connor?"
The android hesitates only to shake his head, the motion too smooth and vaguely disconcerting to watch. "No, I've only heard about it. I knew…" his voice becomes strained, almost strangled, as he tries to summon up a name, a face, and fails to do so, "I think I knew someone who wanted to go one day. Apparently I was researching the Park before deactivation, probably to assemble a personalized itinerary."
Gildun opens his mouth to ask more questions and then stops, eyes on the android and with a sudden burst of tact, he decides to switch gears instead of poking his nose into all this business about this forgotten friend of his.
…Could machines even have friends?
"Well! I'm no Banuk, but figure I can show you around this 'Yellowstone' of yours almost as good as one. With luck, it'll be a straight shot to Hollow Hall!"
It wasn't a straight shot to Hollow Hall.
Gildun curses to himself, hurriedly crouches behind a snow-capped boulder and, after a moment, he reaches up, grabs Connor's elbow and jerks him down too before he decides to walk over and introduce himself to his fellow machines the way he did to his first Oseram delver. Luckily the tree cover extends a few feet further and it doesn't look like the herd's seen them. Yet.
"Those are the machines you were referring to?" The android starts to bob right back up as if he wants to take another look. "What robotics corporation did you say manufactured these again?"
"Get down!" Gildun hisses through his teeth. "Cool your forge, you want us to get spotted?"
Another tug. This time Connor stays put.
"No…but their design is unconventional, isn't it?" The RK800 presses the point even though he copies his new human and keeps his voice lowered to a more sensible whisper. "I've never seen anything like it before - CyberLife focused on seamless recreation of nature, not such a stylistic interpretation of it."
Did Connor have to sound so quietly impressed?
"Lucky for us, they aren't Snapmaws."
"Are those hostile?"
Gildun shoots one long look at Connor and his pale, scarless face, looking so very much like a young man who wouldn't know his way around hammer or chisel even if it was right there in his hand, and for a second you could almost forget "he" wasn't a he at all. No, this wasn't another Carja scholar wandering around out of their element and wondering why the campfires simply didn't light themselves with a flick of a finger the way they seemed to back at Meridian, unaware an army of invisible scribes was doing all the work. Even those types knew what machines looked like, even if it was only from drawings in those fancy gold-plated scrolls of theirs.
Chewing the inside of his cheek, Gildun shakes his head and risks a peek over the boulder, gloved fingers digging into the snow and revealing the soft orange lichen hiding underneath.
"The four legged ones are Chargers - big things but skittish. Usually run if they get spooked but they'll still crush a man's head in with those hooves, believe you me!" At Gildun's words, his shiny new android nods attentively, leaning slightly forward with his hands resting flat against his thighs as if he was a model student and his lifelike brown eyes fix on him as if everything out of his mouth was critically important. "Now the little ones are Watchers. They see you, they send up the alarm and then they'll really want to brawl."
There's, oh, about six Watchers out there. The herd today is bigger than usual and they look like they literally just arrived at the feeding site: Chargers are still wandering around as they spread out, lazily swinging their curled racks this way and that as they inspect the frozen ground for any stray plants, twin-tails giving idle flicks every now and then. They could be here for awhile…and incidentally, this was the fastest way to Hollow Hall. Keyword being was.
They'll have to go around, Gildun sighs, because his usual trick of sneaking past won't work and he isn't like some big burly Vanguardsman who could throw down with machines, plural, and later laugh about it over flagons of Scrappersap. Tack on at least two days onto the trek and hope the Banuk they're going to see is still there once they get to Hollow Hall.
"One thing to consider," Connor chimes up after a second to process. "The Yellowstone hot springs are supposed to be famously corrosive, so - "
"- Corrosive to dirt? Amazing bathing spots, let me tell you."
The android doesn't exactly look aghast but he does perform that little pregnant pause betraying the exact moment when he realizes he said something wrong. Or, as he'd probably put it, "incorrect" or "invalid". Gildun's still trying to work out where the machine part of Connor begins underneath that incredibly lifelike mask, how much of him still sees the world like those Chargers and Watchers grazing in the open, still oblivious to Oseram and android.
"...I was going to say it'd be ill-advised to touch or enter the hot springs considering their acidity and heat. Maybe I was misinformed about their lethality."
Gildun's getting an idea now even as Connor speaks, an idea that's so unlike him that he almost imagines it's instead a little piece of Aloy's remarkable spirit peering over his shoulder, seeing a problem with this herd and going "I can fix that, easy"...only replace a brilliant Nora warrior with a machine wearing a man's face as the delving partner in question. Two hands, and, more importantly, two legs to solve their current obstacle standing quite literally in their path.
"Hold on, ingenuity's spark just flared. Hear me out…"
So the idea looked good on parchment.
In practice, however…
Well, Gildun's running for his life (again) and wishing ingenuity's spark had burned just a little less bright (again).
Step 1 of Spook the Herd had actually gone off without a hitch between Oseram and android running at the Chargers, hollering and hooting, and pelting them with rocks before they knew what was happening, triggering a panicked stampede in the opposite direction. That part had worked so shockingly well that Gildun even had enough time to feel a swell of pride lift his shoulders and the corners of his mouth…that is, until the Watchers wheeled around. Each and every one of their great eyes immediately flipped from the gold of alarm to an angry, violent red.
This is where Step 2 should have kicked in.
The plan was to split the Watchers between Connor and him. Get their attention, lure them into the springs, watch as they all fall in because obviously they can't swim, and then just waltz on over to Hollow Hall. Easy, right? Gildun's pretty good at the running-dodging combo and he figures the android demonstrated yesterday that he's quick on his feet, so in theory it'll be a well-oiled gear to turn.
What Gildun didn't account for is how the Watchers take one good look at Connor, humming together in their wordless machine voices, and apparently decide he isn't worth the trouble for whatever reason. No, to his mounting horror, they wheel around and come his way instead.
All six of them.
Every time Gildun feels his limbs flag or his breath catch in his throat, ragged and harsh, he finds another reserve of strength he didn't realize he still had each time he hears one of the Watchers gain ground. Funny how life or death situations make things like advancing age and "but I'm not a Vanguardsman!" fall to the wayside.
Meanwhile Connor is easily loping a few yards to his left, slender limbs pumping with none of the effort that Gildun puts in, and looking irritatingly fresh-faced as he calls out warnings.
"Watcher 04: priming fire. Dodge left now."
Or:
"Watcher 01: preparing lunge maneuver. Run faster, Gildun."
Or:
"Watcher 06: engaging hostile unit. Maintain current retreat."
At that point there's the sound of a grunt, a scuffle, and the sound of something heavy hitting the ground with the high-pitched squawk of a Watcher caught by surprise.
Gildun might be running for his life but he's also only human; when you hear something out of the ordinary, there's always, always this inexplicable urge to sneak a peek even though you probably shouldn't. There's just enough time to cast a quick, harried glance over his shoulder.
The android's on the ground tussling with the sixth Watcher, the two machines entangled as they roll away all up in each other's business, bar brawl style. Connor's doing his best to disable the Watcher he's tackled away from the rest of the pack, one hand diving into its neck and face as if he can rip out its critical components bare-handed and maybe that'd work…if the Watcher wasn't squirming like a fox just caught in a trap. Even sparking with fresh damage it's wriggling and writhing, kicking wildly, and even Connor - overly-ambitious, weaponless Connor - is having a hard time keeping it from breaking free and joining the rest of the pack still pursuing his human partner.
The chase is probably a minute at most, if even that. But it feels like an eternity of literally running in circles and in the back of his mind, he knows he can't keep it up.
Gildun's so preoccupied with the whole Run For Your Damned Life part that he almost doesn't see the hot spring until it looms up in an oversaturated smear of color.
There's a feverish idea of making a wild jump for it. Big and powerful and impressive, just like those famous Vanguardmen and Kestrals from the historical hunt scrolls. In fact the Oseram's pretty sure he does try to leap forward. His boot actually hits the other side -
- and punches right through the fragile crust as the rest of his body weight follows.
"Agh!"
Gildun hits the spring with an explosive splash, arms pinwheeling wildly as he tries to grab onto the "shore" and finds it keeps breaking off under his sodden gloves. He's joined by a series of splashes heralding the remaining five Watchers piling in after their trapped prey. Multi-colored water boils into a froth, machines struggling after the human floundering around, just barely able to keep his head above the churning spring and not get struck in the face by a lucky Watcher.
Was this it? Really?
The Oseram's still flailing when a black-and-orange cord slaps into the water before him.
"Gildun, grab the line. Relax your body."
Gildun grabs the line. He doesn't relax his body, instead spitting water as he gasps, "C-Connor?!"
"Relax," the android's voice drifts down. "If you can."
This time Gildun can…or, rather, his body finally just gives out and sags and he's just done. He has an impression of being pulled through the warm water until his dragging boots bump into mud and then rock, of hands looping under his arms and hoisting him up until he's flopped onto his back in the shallows like a landed fish complete with gasping mouth. Scrubby wild grasses growing through the shore's grit dance in the lapping waters, the sun blotted out by a man's shadow peering down at him, a strange, perfectly circular light still strobing the same alarmed gold as the Watchers. It honestly hurts to look at, the Oseram delver squinting.
"The hostile units sank to the bottom as planned," Connor says. The LED against his temple gradually calms to its default teal. "You're right about their inferior water competency. And, thankfully, about the reduced lethality of the spring itself."
"I am?" Gildun's reddened face pinches, baffled, as he takes a long second to register what the android's saying. "I am!"
With a wheeze the Oseram sits up, dimly aware of Connor's steadying hand against his shoulder, and he looks around. First at the spring: no more Watchers at the surface, although he has an impression of dark shapes still twitching at the bottom, of blue eyes flickering, then winking out one by one as each goes still. Apparently they aren't as waterproof as Snapmaws (good to know!). A wide-eyed survey of the immediate area reveals that the way to Hollow Hall is now officially clear of machines; the herd of Chargers long gone, the Watcher Connor tackled earlier lying on its side, looking very much dead at this angle with black-and-orange cords strewn from its stomach.
The relief flooding through Gildun is almost painful.
"...we did it!" Gildun punches the warm water at his side, feeling like he could float away instead of sinking straight down into the hot spring's mysterious blue depths. "See that, Connor? Teamwork between new partners: the stuff of legends!"
"I'm not sure why you're surprised, as your plan was tactically sound."
Gildun nods, grinning as he wobbles unsteadily to his feet, sopping wet and still resting his full weight on Connor's shoulder. If the android notices or finds him heavy, he doesn't say anything, his arm looped around the human's thick torso to stabilize him in case he pitches back into the spring.
"What did I tell you?" Gildun's gone positively high off their unexpected success. "Ingenuity's spark burns brightest just when you need it!"

"I'm a little nervous about the food," Warren admitted. "It was odd enough getting used to different cuisines in the Milky Way…"
"If you'll allow me," Thrive said in English to Lilori, translated by his suit, "I'd like to consult with those preparing the food to make sure everyone can eat the same things without dire consequences."
"Of course," Lilori said. "Let me take you to the kitchens. After your feast you may settle for the night if you would like."
Warren winced at the idea of sleeping—he didn't get very much of it since the incident with the Emmuli and he wasn't sure he'd be able to anytime soon. His eyes snapped to Thrive, who tossed him a look as though he knew what he was thinking and they'd talk about it later.
south(bound) (Meridian)—
"Dad!"
[Warren] whipped around at the sound of Ataneq's voice, and he spotted him trailing behind a line of security officers following the paramedic vehicle. He carried a handgun and wore a protective vest, as well as a helmet with glowing cyan HUD on the visor.
"You good?" Warren called out.
"Yeah," Ataneq said as the line moved closer. "What the hell is going on out there?"
"We were going to ask the same of you," Thrive said, hands flexing to eliminate the buzz from his shield. "Unidentified entities are running rampant through the main atrium."
"Not just there." Ataneq pointed in the direction of the southbound officers. "They're picking out important spots. The Centrum is being overrun, too, but the leaders are in lockdown and safe for now."

Thrive gave a sword a final twirl and his eyes found Warren across the battlefield. He cracked a wink before his form took on an abundance of height, his body thickening, blending in with ———, shifting with the wind and spinning like a deadly drill into the sky.
"Are you seeing this?!" Sig yelled into the comm. "Is anyone else seeing this?!"
Newfound confidence crashed into Warren. With a resolute glance, he and Guetry erupted from cover, charging forward to shoot Emmuli back into the thick of the fight. ——— swept through the biting lightning and the darkness, filling the air with sulfur and electricity.
Thrive plunged back to the ground in human form, using his swords as propellers, slinging them straight into an Emmuli column and breaking it up before it could turn into solid beings. He melted the metal into projectiles punching into the fray, homemade bullets ripping through smoke and mist, further dissolving and interacting with the shadows to form a tear in midair that swallowed a layer of dust off the ground.
saint soul (Eternal)—
Emnophene nodded and pressed the button. "...Fifteen...fourteen…"
Thrive turned back to the eliyi. "You have thirteen seconds to call for reinforcements."
"Filthy shakturak!" the eliyi screeched. "The annals of your people will soak with your blood!
"Eleven…" Emnophene said apprehensively.
"You are bluffing! You would not enact retribution on a generation free from culpability!"
Thrive angled his face so he could level the eliyi with a curious, baleful stare. "My oath has sworn me to protect the obhelians, whom your ancestors eradicated. It has sworn me to protect my wards, all of whom you've threatened to eliminate upon attacking our vessel." He stepped up to the viewscreen, lifting his head to look the eliyi right in its several, dripping eyes. "The naivete you must possess not to realize that I've given my soul over to exactly this."
"Eight...seven…"
After a beat, the Headmaster gestured to a Foremaster and within the blink of an eye, a line of several other dreadnoughts dropped out of FTL to reinforce the initial eliyi's ship.
"Well that fucking backfired," Guetry yelled.
Warren shook his head, glancing with wide eyes from the ships to Thrive, who remained unbothered at the viewscreen. "Yeah...I don't think it did..."
summer sun (Aurora)—
——— and other guests had seated themselves on plush poufs arranged in a semi-circle around the fire where Genni stood, patiently waiting for Warren to join her. She smiled as she stepped up to him.
"You ready?"
Warren nodded, taking a meditative breath and shifting his weight from one foot to the other. "Yeah. As ready as I can be."
She gestured to Lilori, who pulled from their pocketed sash a small horn. They blew into it once, a deep, vibrato note echoing across the falls.
A pair of R'lisian guards stepped out from behind a thick curtain of vines, pulling it apart. In doing so, they revealed Thrive, holding himself tall and confident under a heavy obhelian cloak, dyed the color of a setting sun—a gradient of blazing crimson pooled at his feet bleeding upward into warm amber and ending in a loose-fitting hood of sapphire draped over his golden hair and tucked around his shoulders. His eyes, sparkling as rays of light beamed down on him through the trees, met Warren's, and it was as if the oxygen was immediately sucked out of the air.
With each careful step Thrive took toward the fire, he trailed behind him more red fabric, inlaid with delicate silver and gold thread that caught the sunlight and shimmered like stars. He seemed more comfortable in that luscious fabric than any form suit he'd ever worn.

Patch Notes - 6.21.2023
Tumblr media
Art by: Carew   We hope you’re enjoying the new resizable game window and taking advantage of all the latest bonus building events. This latest patch has a number of fixes and improvements we think you’ll appreciate! >> Inventory sorting is here! No more dropping and picking up to move items around in your inventory. You can now drag-and-drop items in your inventory. Organize and optimize to your heart's content! >> The sun and moon return The sun and moon play an important role in recognizing time of day and for years they’ve been missing from the universe. Perhaps by the magic of Qor? The curse has been broken and the sun and moon are back. Riija mages will be able to gauge the strength of their spells by looking at the moon’s height, and the Sun will dazzle you with its light. >> Umbrella is back Shal’ille mages have been long-missing this powerful and curious spell, which has undergone several interpretations over the decades. Now, it will act as a personal defense-boosting enchantment, with added protection against the undead inhabitants of Meridian. Client Updates - Inventory items can now be sorted manually using a new drag-and-drop function. - Fixed an issue with the sun and moon not appearing in hardware rendering. - Fixed an issue in which objects would vanish along the edges of the game window. - Added new chat message colors: Cyan “c”, Yellow “y”, and Lime “g” - Fixed a bug causing a player’s safety (preventing/allowing ‘innocent’ harm) to toggle under certain conditions. Spell/Skill/Item Changes - Kara’hol’s Curse can no longer be recast if already active. - Added new condition descriptions for bows. - Umbrella is now a self-enchantment and provides scaling protection from the undead. - Potions now include their color in the description. - Gauntlets can now be swapped without needing to first be unequipped. - Fixed several issues with Second Wind (released back in January 2023). New Player Experience Changes - Players leaving Raza will be granted 200 vigor. - New items have been added to Raza’s shops to provide more variety and utility. General Bug Fixes and Improvements - Prisms on the floor will no longer be removed during the game’s room cleanups. - The Riija Sword is now excluded from the list of items that can be lost when falling from the Temple of Riija bridge. - Guild allies above the rank of Initiate can now enter allied guild halls. - Fixed an issue in which Jala casters could inadvertently leave behind a room enchantment that caused issues for others. - Shrine allegiances and power levels will now be reproduced in the event that they or the overall state of the game needs to be recreated. - Improved the visibility of safety on/off messages. - Fixed missing textures and texture alignment issues in a number of rooms. - Misc game config cleanup. Development Tool Changes - Added a Visual Studio Code extension, Blakod Support, to the codebase to aid in the development of Blakod files. This extension can also be found in the Extensions Marketplace for VS Code. - Updated room files to use floating point to resolve room editor crashes. - Updated several of the room editor’s key bindings to match modern standards. Included in this release are contributions from Toko, Si, Aesica, Ouija, and Diggie. Thank you for your contributions to the game. Warning: Long Post, I have Many Thoughts
Edit 18/05: turns out this whole thing was pointless coz erik just made a spelling mistake OH WELL *crawls into grave*
Wait coz this would make sm sense if it were the case. In the lore of the Sovereigns and the creation of Daemonkind etc, it says that the only two categories of D(a)emon who kept the ‘a’ were those who could feed off of feelings of Serenity and Empathy, and they did so as a kind of tribute to E’Laetum and Min’Ara who chose to sacrifice themselves and become the Meridian to stop Terra being destroyed.
Since Regulus is a fallen Empathy Daemon who’s become increasingly more possessive and ‘yandere’ as the plotline’s developed, it would make sense if he became a Demon rather than a Daemon seeing as his actions no longer reflect the reason behind WHY there’s a difference between the two spellings in the first place.
That begs the questions: Can you change between ‘types’ of D(a)emonkind?? If so, how does that work, and why is Regulus doing so? Is it a choice? Or is it determined by the D(a)emon’s innate behaviour? Regulus knows about the Sovereigns E’Laetum and Min’Ara because of the Empathy Daemon fairytale so he knows about the two differences as well.
Also peeping into the icon design choices - I’m probably going too far into this but the channel’s my special interest sooo - all the Daemons’ colour palettes tend to be a more soft, less visually provoking colour, with the exception of Brachium because he’s a Deathwalker rather than a Serenity Daemon, and Avior because he’s trapped in the so-called ‘Dante’s Inferno-esque’ landscape. Caelum is a powdery pink, Camelopardalis is a cyan-green and Regulus is/was a neutral blue colour. The fact that it’s changed to a more aggressive pink, often seen in the colour palette of Gavin, or the red that’s Vega, or even the purple that’s shown for Scorpius, hints at some sort of change happening, whatever it is, because it now mimics the harsher tones of the Demon colours.
Could be me just getting overly hyped about some small detail again but I reckon we know by now that Erik doesn’t just put stuff in for no reason - such as Aaron’s throwaway comment about “my brother never answers the phone” - which is why I love it so much, there’s always something in every video to be thinking about in terms of lore or future plot-points.
Aaaaa this is so interesting and honestly I wouldn’t be mad if it turned out to be nothing but thank you for the food for thought regardless!
Was rewatching Regulus bc he’s my favorite Daemon (until Caelum gets a new video that is) and I realized something with the title
Tumblr media
Idk if this is a writing error on Erik’s part, but Regulus went from a “Daemon” to “Demon”. I could ignore this if there weren’t more changes to Regulus.
For one, his main color is Blue. It’s the only color besides white on his icon, and it’s the color the words on his thumbnails are, but in the new video, it’s a pinkish-red. A very obvious change, but why change it at all?
Another change is the voice effect. Before, to seem angry, his voice would grow louder, and he’d have 3 voices across our mind speaking to emphasize what he’s trying to say, but he doesn’t do that in the new audio.
What he does instead is sort of, distort his voice? I don’t know how to explain it, but it grew vicious and threatening. The binaural audio does appear in the new video, but he doesn’t multiply his voice in it (at least I don’t think he did).
I could ignore one of these changes, maybe even two. But all three HAS to mean something. His playlist title still says “Daemon” so I don’t know if I’m right, but what if Regulus became a Demon? I don’t know what the differences between a Daemon and Demon are, but Demons are more vicious, and have the possibility to be more dangerous and violent (but not all, like Caelum said)
Maybe it means he’s more willing to hurt and kill people for his listener, like he said after he escaped? Who knows.

Seer of the Unseen, First among Delvers, Champion of CYAN, Master of the Shaman Path, Begat of the Goddess, Tamer of Machines, Healer to the Land Gods, Risen as the 10, Supreme Marshall of the Tenakth, Chieftain of the Werak, Champion of the Kulrut, Saviour of Meridian, the Anointed, Flew on the Wings of the Ten, and Certified Girl Kisser
The way you say "certified girl kisser" etc makes me imagine Petra greeting Aloy with a loud "Well, if it isn't Aloy Girlkisser" the next time she visits Free Heap, and Loy turning red as her hair for the rest of the visit ^^
one thing is certain: Petra is going to have a goddamn good time with this. She's gonna know without even needing to ask.
"Aloy! Get over here, Flame Hair, let me smell your fingers!"

Colors
I am officially in love with Avior and I will not shut up about it. Have a ficlet where absolutely no projecting has been done.
Colors
Avior/Starlight
Avior approached them hesitantly, trying, it seemed, to keep a respectful distance.
"You… you called for me?" Starlight sighed.
"Yes. Yeah, I did. I… I'm still not ready to talk about… everything, I just wanted to ask you a question."
"Of course, what is it?" Starlight ran their fingers through their hair.
"You, uh. You said that you had made stuff out of magic in here before, didn’t you?"
"Yes, I did… I mean, the meridian tries to pull it apart pretty quickly, but I can still make things…" Starlight fidgeted with their fingers, fiddling with their knuckles and picking at their fingernails. Avior wanted nothing more in that moment than to take their hands, like he used to all the time, to calm these very nervous tics. He shoved his hands into his sleeves.
"It’s okay if the answer to this is no, but… could you make me some— some paints? And paintbrushes?" Avior cocked his head.
"I mean, yes, of course but… if you don’t mind my asking— why?" Starlight shook their head.
"I don’t mind. I have… a lot, on my mind right now, as you clearly know. And… something sensory, like painting, can sometimes help calm me. Ground me." That gave a half-hearted smirk, glancing around at the predominantly black obsidian walls around them.
"Plus, it's not like this place couldn’t use more colors." Avior nodded.
"I… yeah. I can do that. I’d love to do that for you." He held out his hands and focused, pulling the magic up from inside himself like drawing water from a well. Three tubes of paint fell from his hands. Magenta, cyan, and yellow. Next came a thick brush, a medium brush, a small brush, and an assortment of hairline-thin ones in case they wanted to do detail work. For good measure, he added two more tubes of paint— black and white. They grabbed them.
"Thanks." They turned their back on him and squirted paint onto their non-dominant hand, taking the thick brush and dipping it into the puddle on their hand.
"I can get you a palette too, I mean—“ Starlight cut him off.
"No thanks. It’s… it’s nicer like this. I like feeling it on my skin."
"Okay." He didn’t want to walk away. He did. As he got further away, he heard them quietly humming. Their voice was so beautiful. They were singing a song about colors.
A couple hours later, when the humming had long stopped and he was sure they were in a a different part of their own little hell, he went to where they had been painting. It was… chaos. Lines all over the place. Very few actual forms, though he was almost sure he saw something that looked like him through a swath a turquoise and red in one corner. There were no spaces left in between. Every inch of the wall they had chosen filled with lines, shapes, and colors. Colors everywhere. Words, too. Lyrics. Some sort of pseudo-calligraphy. Cursive. Doodled lists of things they liked. Avior stared. His Starlight had put themselves out on a wall for him to see, using paints he had given them. He sat down cross-legged, memorizing every line. Every color. Every word and feeling they had vented in their creation. He wished he could have an image of this to keep. If they ever got out of here, if his old steward ever asked him how he had fallen in love with a human, all he'd have to do is show them this.
I didn't know how to spell the stewards name soooo… ye I hope y'all enjoyed!

The burn behind his eyes says it all, he’s tired and strained from staring at the glowing glyphs all day. He tries not to grumble too loudly or too often but this wasn’t something he had signed up for. Studying? Really? How is any of this supposed to save the world? But those thoughts quickly vanish as he watches a holo of Aloy talking to CYAN for the first time. The sound of her voice, that of relief and excitement, warms his heart and chastises himself for ever doubting the importance of her mission. He wonders if Gaia can read his thoughts or heard a sigh he didn’t realize he had released for this holo to appear on his focus. But he’s grateful and decides that’s enough for the day.
His head turns slightly as it dawns on him that he had not seen the Nora huntress since she disappeared into one of the rooms to upgrade her equipment. Using his knees as leverage, he hoists himself up and groans at the ache in his back. It’s not the same type of ache he’s used to, not from a hard days work or after a battle. His body isn’t used to sitting in one spot for too long. Erend can only pin point this feeling to the nights he was stuck doing paper work or coming up with schedules for the vanguards. It was his least favourite activity as the Captain and was almost thankful to get away from that responsibility until the first focus was placed along his temple and his world changed.
Erend had been so lost in his grumbling that he barely realized that he was standing outside of the room where Aloy was last. It wasn’t until he was peeking around the corner of the door that his mind became unfogged. “Aloy…?” Her name came out in a whisper as he stared at the haunched over frame that leaned heavily on the workstation. Her crimson hair sprawled out like a sun beam and the gentle sound of her snores warmed his soul. “Fire and spit…I am a lug nut” shame coated his face as he crept over to the woman who held a special place in his heart. He was complaining about having to sit around and read where she was risking her life every day to save the world. Erend had promised himself that he would do whatever it took to help. That he was lucky to have a minute of her time. “Maybe even two” the words echoed in is mind and it reassured him that what he was doing for her was important. Even if it just meant taking the load off her shoulders. That he understood what she said whenever she confided in him. That was worth it.
He didn’t know what came over him, but Erend placed his forge built hand on her back and watched as she barely stirred. “Aloy…” he coaxed her again but to no avail. Erend must have been feeling bolder than he thought possible and didn’t have time to stop his own actions as his right arm looped under Aloy’s knees from her seat and the left arm supported her back and held her to his chest. She groaned as her head rolled into the crook of his shoulder and an arm came to wrap around his neck. Her fingers tickling the side of his exposed skin and he could feel his face grow hot. “Fire and spit” he whispered and decided after a long pause to finally make his way effortlessly and gently towards her room. She deserved a good night sleep and Erend would be damned if he had left her to that workstation.
Erend savoured the way she felt curled up in his arms and wished the moment could have lasted forever. But as the doors to her room wooshed opened, he felt a bitter emptiness over come him. She would never know he did this for her, he’d never admit it even if she asked. Mostly out of the fear of rejection or that he would face her uncomfortable glare at the thought of him touching her. He just wanted to do a nice gesture for the saviour of Meridian. The new anointed champion of the tenakth chief. The woman who captured his heart the moment he laid eyes on her. Erend would move the world for Aloy, all she had to do was ask.
He laid her gently on her bedroll, pulling the blankets up and tucking her in. She looked peaceful now, comfortably melting into the cushioned bed. He wondered how many nights of hard stone and grass she had to endure over the passed year. If she even liked this bed that he and Varl had made for her. The soft sigh of ease that escaped her lips answered his unspoken question. And he knew that was enough for him.
Erend quietly began to push himself off the ground until a gentle calloused hand captured his own. His heart pounding and sweat began to build on the back of his neck. His eyes wide as he turned to find green ones barely peeking open to meet his blue.
“Thank you, Erend” her voice was like velvet and he was sure she captured the blush that he decided he wouldn’t hide. But his gaze was soft as he gave her hand a gentle squeeze. “Anything for you” was all he could muster before unwillingly releasing her hand and slipping away from her room as to not disturb her any longer.
Erend’s heart was pounding in his throat as he finally made his way back to his own room. Her soft voice ringing in his ears and he couldn’t help but smile in gratitude that she didn’t shiv him right on the spot. He hopes she knew how sincere he was, that he would literally do anything for her. Even just for a moment.
