maybe im just a sadist but there is no version of the st timeline where billys mom didnt leave him by choice in my mind. i am not holding space for the "neil kept her from seeing him" narrative. and honestly i think most of that narrative comes from people just refusing to believe mothers can be that selfish lmao but like ive heard plenty enough stories about mothers choosing themselves/romantic partners over their kids safety i have no trouble believing billys mom just put herself first and left her kid behind because it was an easier escape or she found some new guy to run off with and billy didnt fit into that new life and you can pick any reason why
