you know I had to bring up my sketchbook kid Mattie for this one. in my mind this is like…impromptu midnight storytime bc someone woke up the entire household and now she’s almost settled no one wants to get up or go back to bed

(Kaisa has become a little more comfortable with openly doing magic by this point, partly because of reconnecting with Tildy in season 2 and partly because no matter how shoddy her spells come out, they never fail to entertain her kids, especially her youngest. dk: gives you the biggest puppy eyes. why what when for what reason. like yes, he understands you need some space but at the same time… CUDDLE ME!!!

mingyu: does not like it at. all. why are you being so cruel? why don’t you want to cuddle? you need space? but you can literally get space in his arms? gets sad and moves even further away from you (wants you to feel bad for him so you’d stop with the “distance” thing)

minghao: you want space and sit a bit further away? cool. you change your mind and want a hug? great. he’s right there ready for cuddles.

vernon: he’s like “slay ✌🏼” and stretches his feet on the couch

seungkwan: he’s so so torn because at one hand he understand your need for space, but… he is a clingy babie, he needs hugs :(

I had a hard time choosing which scene to draw, there were SO many parts that I love!! (Persephone tasting worms for the first time is a SUPER cute silly scene too that I giggled at while reading XD) But I settled with the scene right after their first kiss, their little moment with Hades picking the blue flower from Seph's hair.... and the fact that she later creates forget-me-nots out of them for Hades...UGH. I hate his stupid cute face, I hate the brain rot he gave me, I hate that I made a whole oc because I also hated making him grieve in reincarnated!reader aus

He forced me into being creative again 💔 I don't have time for that, I need to work on my projects but NOOOOO Lilia vanrouge just had to be extra biteable that day

Anyways the oc comes from a world of magic, her specific ability is atom manipulation. She starts experimenting with her ability and taking it to the next level. The next level being time and space manipulation. She miscalculates her formula and puts too much pressure onto the space aspect, landing her into an endless, lifeless, liminal space (like the backrooms without monsters) she survives on scraps that occasionally pop in and by using her manipulation ability to turn junk into food while she explores the area.

She learns that the space she's in acts like a hub, like a neutral void that's connected to all realities and parallel universes. She finds a coffin that looks very comfortable. She decides to sleep in it for a while after fine-tunes her formula, and applying the probability of parallel worlds.

Uh Oh I forgot to mention she's a sleep talker! Spending a long time in a place where you're the only living thing can be very stressful for social beings, good thing she can fixate on her research! Unfortunately she recites the spell that she was concocting while asleep and lands herself in twisted wonderland.

She's in her 20s so she doesn't like being put in as a first year. But she does pick up a thing or two from this alternate world's magic, plus the vice dorm leader is nice to her.

I'm still working it out in my head but eventually she's forced to use her ability and manages to land herself into the area for general Lilia's camp.

He doesn't like her but her ability can lessen the load on his troops (clean water, making it warmer in the night, making food from thin air) so he keeps her around. Eventually he begins to fall for her, and she's not even bothered to hide that she likes him since he's the only familiar face she's seen.

Commission Rambles

KuroEne have some official art refs (official art, merch arts) that can be inconsistent in colours (ex. their headphones) so I also gave some notes and quick edits of official arts.

I sent these arts of Kuroha and Ene as my main refs 🖤💙

I sent more too, but I felt that since I'm commissioning chibis of them, that these arts simplify their designs nicely.

I did a little edit of their concept arts for fun. I mainly did it to get a clearer full body ref of Saeru to make it easier for the artists I'm commissioning

My main focus is on 9/6 and XX/6, basically all related ships (KuroEne, HaruTaka, KonoEne)

Depending on the arts (including merch arts), Kuroha's clothes either get coloured with the same black colour, or with the inner clothes as a darker black.

I prefer when his inner clothes and boots, etc., are a darker black cuz it has more visual contrast against his design. It also differentiates the clothes more to have the outer shirt be a lighter gray black vs. the darker blacks in his hair and inner clothes.

His entire design is in dark colours (black, gray), and the gold in his eyes and facial markings cuts away from that. Yellow is a bright vivid colour.

Though it makes sense in MVs like Outer Science and some official arts/merch why his outer and inner shirts are the same colour to not distract from the mood/atmosphere, and also in pieces/merch that use a limited colour palette

For the FIRST time, I finally get to see that Kuroha art in full and not in crusty quality for once. It's a happy day for me

She is TINY compared to them... Haruka/Konoha/Kuroha is 182 cm (6'0") and Ene is 157 cm (5'2") or 640 px tall... Portable gf. They could put her in their pocket

Interesting that Ene's thigh highs were originally asymmetrical in the concept arts. The finalized design definitely fits her more.

Simplifying Ene's headphones is completely fine with me cuz of the rectangular part on it...

Commissions

Whenever I commission artists, I send a detailed description of the characters' relevant design details, poses and expressions, etc., in the form itself.

Then I attach all necessary art refs in a Google Drive Folder and then send the link to the artist.

Because I know that sending a lot of art refs and a detailed description, just makes things easier for the artists you're commissioning.

My commission request forms tend to look like this

VGen Rambles

VGen's site layout and format are honestly better than Ko-fi's imo

VGen has a REALLY nice UI for commissioning artists... I prefer it over Ko-fi when it comes to commissioning artists.

It shows all your commission requests in an organized format, and it has a really good commission request form, where the artist can send invoices.

VGen lets you upload more files and links as art refs. It's better than Ko-fi's in that it allows you to upload more files and add links. Iirc, I think Ko-fi's has a limit of 5

The artists can DM with their clients on VGen directly, and also leave files in high quality directly on the commission form after completion

There's also a review section, typically the artist leaves a review for the client and the client can give one. I always leave a message for the artist after the commission is done to show my gratitude 🥰
