If you follow my blog you know what I'm about, but I just wanted to take a moment to express how much I love George Harrison. I fucking love George. From the start he was the GOAT. It's baby George headbutting one of baby Paul's friends for no reason. It's him running after Cynthia and John to crash their first dates cause he thinks they're so coooool. It's him going to Hamburg as an actual fetus and somehow hanging on in there with a guitar and a boatload of prellies. It's George being a hell-raiser but also so gentle. If you read about any Beatle going to a funeral, it's George. If you hear about any Beatle being exceptionally kind or gentle to staff, its George. It's George who, despite having justifiable reasons to shoot Lennon/McCartney out of a cannon, still cared enough to want the Beatles to reform in the early 1970s.

George cared so much about his friends, about his religion, about his biscuits and about his band. He never stopped caring and was never afraid to care. George was the one who would hold your hand and keep holding it whilst he told you something important. George who would record Bob Dylan's music cause he loved him and it so much. George who remortgaged his house to pay for his friend Eric Idle's film. George who would talk shit to Paul then hug him whilst running his hand through Paul's hair. George who brought oranges to his son's football matches. George the guy who sat at Friar Park stringing his ukelele to be left-handed as he waited for Paul to come visit. George the one on his death-bed, bed-bound, who asked if Ringo needed someone to come with him to support him whilst his daughter was sick.

George wasn't a saint, he was hilariously catty, petty and there were times such as the break-up, his relationship with Maureen and his friendship with Eric Clapton where he behaved like an absolute shit (though his mother dying makes his break-up behaviour a lot more understandable). But the fact that he came out of the whole dehumanising mess of the Beatles with that capacity to care. Just, whatever form or astral plane you're in now George I hope it's a good one, because you earnt it.
