yan scara can somewhat understand your apprehension toward him (empathizing king), since he's amassed quite the reputation. instilling fear comes naturally to him. he didn't intend to become notorious for his disagreeable attitude, it just sorta happened and he rolled with it. this ends up being a double-edged sword.

while he initially does find it cute that you're so on edge in his presence, this quickly loses its appeal. he wants you to dote on him and offer your affection in abundance. or, at the very least, stop looking like you've seen a ghost when he wraps an arm around your shoulder.

scaramouche finds himself in a tough spot. he can't let you know how wrapped around your finger he is, that'd be detrimental. at the same time, he doesn't want you to think you're one mistake away from getting struck by lightning at any given point and time. are there people who are right to fear this? yes, but you're not one of them.

by his own warped standards, he thinks he's been cordial with you. whether or not this is true is highly debatable. nevertheless, he's huffy that you're not all over him after about the two week mark. is that not ample time for you to readjust? he certainly feels it is. while contemplating this predicament, scaramouche realizes he'll have to amp up his geniality. it hurts his pride, but sacrifices must be made for the greater good.

maybe he'll offer to eviscerate an enemy of yours and bring you their ashes? that's nice, right?
