2020 Fluid Art #92 - Beautiful Cup Bottom Flower - Relaxing https://youtu.be/ZQQ_loW_LQk I did another Fiona Art inspired Cup Bottom Reverse Flower Dip this time. I used Magenta, Light Magenta, Peach, and Yellow Medium by Master’s Touch. And I used DecoArt Extreme Sheen Rose Gold for the lacing this time. I made my Extreme Sheen Paint a little thicker this time, so my flower petals would hold their shape better. I like how that turned out. I apologize for that, but I can’t change it now. My table is still a little un-level. I worked with it and the canvas for 30 minutes before I started recording and still couldn’t get it quite right, so now my flower is moving a little bit. I keep adjusting trying not to let it all run off. We will have to wait and see what it looks like when it dries. I share a dry results video every Monday on my channel to show how my paintings from the previous week dried. I added some music and fast forwarded the layering of the paints this time. 2020 Fluid Art #88 - Dry Results from Last Week’s Rainbow Colored Pours https://youtu.be/nmYYFjHQMZI Here is my weekly Dry Results video from Last Week’s Rainbow Colored Fluid Art. The colors got mostly lost in both of these. I love the Abstract Fiona Inspired Cup Bottom Reverse Flower Dip one. I love the lacing from the DecoArt Extreme Sheen 24K Gold. However, I wish it hadn’t taken over the whole painting. I want to try this technique again with less Extreme Sheen paint. The other one where I attempted a Ring Pour over a Cup Bottom and then used the Hair Dryer Dutch Pour Technique. I was hoping to blow the colors back into the cup bottom flower shape, but that didn’t work. The colors just muddied a lot. 2020 Fluid Art #83 - Cup Bottom Reverse Flower Dip - Fiona Inspired https://youtu.be/mnShP5N3jEI I decided to try another Fiona Art Cup Bottom Flower Dip painting because I haven’t tried this technique for awhile. I have had some troubles with this one sometimes in the last, but I would like to get better at them. For this one, I wanted to try some DecoArt Extreme Sheen paints to see if I could get some cells and lacing like I was hoping for out of my Fiona Flower Dip. I saw in some of her videos she had used Extreme Sheen paints and gotten similar results to her Pearl White. 2020 Fluid Art #57 - Fiona Inspired Cup Bottom Wrecked Ring https://youtu.be/Y3KN7hpzAPY In this video, I used another Fiona Art Inspired Technique. I used the cup bottom wrecked ring pour. You can visit her channel at: https://www.youtube.com/user/7purgas I used a base of Pearlessence. I layered my cup 3 times with Iridescent White, Sky Blue, Brilliant Purple, and Medium Magenta. Then, I used the ring pour technique over the bottom of a flower shaped dessert cup. Then, I wrecked it with a skewer. Lastly, I tilted it to cover all sides and corners. I didn’t like this one as much at first as my last couple with this technique, but after I walked away from it for awhile, I really like it now. I kind of see some kind of sea creature in the yellow and pink part in the center area. https://youtu.be/MLWOy6kggbw This one is a quick look at the dried version of the painting from 2020 Fluid Art #29. Overall, I like it, but I can tell from this somethings I can do better next time I try this technique. I left too much paint in the center as it was drying, so it spread out more to one side than the others. I think next time I need to either use less paint, or tilt it out more to evenly distribute the paint before it dries. Part of me wants to try to add more blue paint around the flower and the sides of the canvas to fill it in more and make the paint more level. The other part of me wants to just leave it and take these lessons and move on to the next one. I keep saying this and not doing it, but I would like to make a video like I did back in the summer where I show pictures and videos clipped together of my old paintings that I haven’t shown you the final results of yet. Is that something you would like to see? What do you think of this piece overall with the issues and all? ❗️❗️❗️ LONG POST ALERT ❗️ ❗️❗️ Sorry, I am detail oriented! https://youtu.be/VqOX-qy1TK8 In this video, I attempted a cup bottom reverse dip flower. I used Ultramarine Blue that I had mixed with Iridescent White for the background. Both of these are Liquitex Basics Paints. I chose this background because when I have been varnishing old paintings lately, this color really sparkles and looks gorgeous after it’s dried and varnished. Then, I selected the following colors for my flower. I started with the Iridescent Ultramarine Blue; and then, I used Purple Lake, Pearl Lilac, Quinacridone Rose, Pearl Rose Quartz. I finished this layer with a little bit of Iridescent White to break up the layers and I cycled through the colors again starting with Purple Lake and ending with a touch of Iridescent White. The Purple Lake and Quinacridone Rose are Creative Inspirations Paints from Jerrys Artarama. The Pearl Lilac and Pearl Rose Quartz are from Arteza. When I removed the cup, I added a little bit of Naples Yellow in the center of the flower (Winsor and Newton Professional Acrylics). Then, I wet my napkin and placed it over the top and spread the paint a little bit. When I lifted the napkin, I really liked the flower that was left. I had a lot of paint and tried to tilt it a little bit to spread it out, but didn’t want to mess up the shape. I added some extra Iridescent Ultramarine. Kid around the edges, and torched some and left it to dry. After, I edited the video, I came back and noticed the paint was spreading more to one side as it was spreading out during the drying process. This was because there was still a whole lot of paint left on top. I keep trying to check on it as it dries, but it will take a long time for that much paint to dry. I hope the flower doesn’t lose its shape too much as it dries and the paint spreads out. I hope nothing goes over the sides from the petals. Also, I hope it doesn’t crack from too much paint. I will have to wait a few days and take another video to publish when it’s fully dry.
